Which gallant soldiers?
The ones in East burning civilian home?
Getat

The army doesn’t just wake up and burn houses.

If u want to address issues address all sides not one side only.

Both the soldiers and ipob/UGM or civilian criminals as the case maybe caused a lot of destruction.

Soldiers don’t intervene in civilian issues unless their attention is called into it. That means there was a problem or ongoing situation 1st serious enough to warrant their intervention.

If ipob were peaceful which they were offline at a point bt yet blowing violent rhetorics online had followed path of peaceful agitation we won’t be here.

I am Yoruba Sir.
Nah service carry me go North.

I know from your name that you are Yoruba. So service carry you go North? And you go? Ki lo man se gbogbo nyin gan na? undecided

Can't you redeploy? Is it until you become a statistic that you'll understand the times? Nigeria is not one. Stop forcing it. It is an enterprise created purposely for the looting of our natural resources. What is wrong with us in this part of the world?

There will NEVER be peace and unity because we have distinct approaches to life and value systems. I dont know why some of you are just arrogantly stubborn.

Peace without justice is nonsense! Igboho's aides were killed, Kanu was renditioned. But Gumi walks freely and the Nigerian government prevented US from extraditing the IGP Abba kyari?

And you're telling me peace and unity? God punish the Nigerian version of peace and unity! Nonsense!

Even if we are separate countries, people will still travel. People will still migrate. As for you, the only reason you haven't visited the north is that life hasn't directed you there yet.

And if you haven't lived there, and understood them, you cannot fully grasp the politics of what you wrote up there.

Just wish him well, brother.

People traveling to other countries when they become separate strictly becomes their pregorative. They are only a minute fraction in ratio to those who choose to stay back in their home (region).

On the flip side, Nigeria remaining as one country is what gives terrorists all the way from Mali, Niger and Chad to come kill my own tribesmen in their villages, farm settlements razed and my own people displaced. This for me is the bigger picture.

Anyone who still wants to travel to North or anywhere else can do so on the basis of a visa. Also know that I'm acutely aware that the North is not one homogenous entity but that's not the focus of this talk.

Besides even if the North was one hell of a peaceful tolerant place, that doesn't make us one with them. Canada is one of the most consistently peaceful and prosperous nations in the world, yet Quebec, one of its provinces, wants to secede from there. And they even held a referendum in the 90's which they lost.

So there doesn't even have to be a problem of coexistence before deciding whether its best to chart our own course or not. Talkless of the incessant bloodletting, stupidity of this country and blatant tribalism of its inhabitants. Abeg make everybody go answer hin papa name. No be by force abeg.

Dear Jooeel,

I can feel your passion on this issue. It's very evident you are convinced on your expectations and desired outcomes. That is something commendable, given the penchant for nonchalance by Nigerian youths.

Keep in mind that the path between two points is not always a straight line. Knowledge is in understanding the terrain, the topography as well as the climate, weather conditions and sociology of the area between the points.

Wisdom is in the application of the knowledge gained in navigating from one point to the other.

I am only asking that we gain full understanding of all the variables involved. It will greatly enhance the applied strategy, and give you valuable insights, some of which you would never imagine or believe, were I to lecture you on them for hours.

So I invite you to do what the OP did, and also visit Gombe, and/or Mubi, Potiskum, Ganye, Yola town, Fufore, Maiduguri, Machina etc. You can then add Jos, Keffi, Bauchi, Tafawa Balewa, Lafia, Dukku to the mix.

After that, mention me, and we can discuss this issue again. I do not expect your desired outcomes to change, because it is an existential one, but you would not remain the same, I assure you.
