TheSuperNerd:

We kept more of the ball, Elyte and that was expected against Sudan. But even in keeping the ball, we struggled to string enough good passing sequences in the middle in that first half. We gave away more possession in that first half through the middle and this is why we still resorted to wing plays with the MFs going back to Ekong or Omeruo who would hit it long to the Wingers - Our rushed build up style like we saw against Egypt.

Ekong attempted 14 long balls. Only 4 were successful. Omeruo attempted 12. Only 5 were successful. Most towards to the wings and few into the path of Awo and Iheanacho up top. This showed our struggle to build through the middle for the better part of that first half and the early part of the second half.

And it is untrue to say we played well in that first half compared to the second. You can only say we scored more in the first half compared to the second. Our tidiest sequences of plays came in the second in the presence of Iwobi and Nwakali.

That is the truth. And they calmed things even better because we were already holding a good lead. So they just kept control and saw off the game. Finito.

Yea u called the heck out of the Nwakali situation. He really brought calmness to the team and Wilf was unleashed.

I'm happy Iwobi is happy

He has gotten a lot of flack at Everton this season, must be quite the relief seeing positive reviews of his game for the Super Eagles

We hope to see the best of him, the coach believes in him
DABIGATRAN:
He is good. The only thing is that the team's tactics does not favour his playing style. He is not the fastest player in the world but he has good footwork. I even think an Aribo could play off him if fielded in advanced position.

For those currently rewatching the game

I hope you all saw the lofted pass by Aribo that I mentioned earlier. I got the time of the execution right. He did it on 10mins in the 1st half.

Now, let me shock you all with another fact from this game.

Aribo was having an even better game in midfield than Ndidi until he made way and Nwakali stepped in.

Ndidi's stats got better after Nwakali came in. I was just taking all these observations in and smiling at it all.

Thank God Sadiq saw 30 minutes of game time today and 15 minutes in the last game

It is not the usual 10 minutes cameo. He did not get a cameo and we have seen more than enough

Iwobi that came on for less than 10 minutes against Egypt, we saw what he did in those 10 minutes.

A player who is good does not need to start a game or play for 45 minutes before they show their mettle.

Even Awoniyi's first game, despite not scoring, we saw what he brought.

Please, let us not even try to use game time to make excuses for some players, because there is no truth to it in this scenario.

Let's see players start first, that's all I'm saying. 10, 20 or 30 mins, sub is still a sub.

Remember Osimhen vs. Tunisia 3rd plaace game? Osimhen tried as a sub, but he came into a dead game and played a whole halff almost isolated. He had only one half-chance which was off target. Imagine, Rohr and many people on this thread used that game to justify why he didn't play other games in that AFCON. That was full 45 mins o.

Let us start a player and see how he plays in a fresh game to clearly assess his abilities. That is all I am saying. Guinea Bissau is a dead rubber game. I expect to see a rotated squad to give our main guys rest.

Ndidi balled hard again today...
Aribo was also amazing, regardless of the few heavy touches that let him down.
Aina, aside the penalty was flawless today..
Nwakali and Iwobi balled well in the second half...
Simon has been free from Rohr's choke! We can now enjoy him..
Ekonh and Omeruo solid as usual..

Apart from Sadiq, everybody on the pitch today had a great game..

The funny thing is that I don't think we played to our full strength today..At times we were too slow ..
I expect Eguavon to start a fresh team against Guinea Bissau on Tuesday...

The coach is been rigid

He ought to understand that it is a not must he play Sadiq. Henry Onyekuru would have been a good sub for Taiwo

Reason why Nwakali is getting all the slander is because he has been overhyped here already and when he plays averagely, he tends to get the stick. I do not think he played badly but up to the standard he was hyped to play definitely NO.
I feel he was playing according to instructions though and is yet to express himself.
I pray he comes good and keeps improving but no need to slander him. He will either prove himself or be found wanting

Whether Nwakali is overhyped or not some elements would still see fault.
