Samueltemi337:Yeah it's looking likely to be Malawi, I dont see Sierra Leone maintaining that top 4 Third placed team....a win for Ghana against comoros will further push them out of the top third placed teams and plus CIV will use the West African gidigbo style to win them today |

nairalandankrah: From what I saw against Sudan, Sierra Leone can beat Nigeria on penalties if we don't compose our attack, dictate play in the middle, reduce unnecessary long balls and establish a proper defense-Goalkeeper coordination/Communication |

95% certain of what to expect in round 16 fixtures 1. Winner of group A vs 3rd place C/D/E i.e Cameroon vs Gha (likely to happen) It's unlikely if group D(guinea Bissau) and E(Sierra Leone) will produce a 3rd place team. 2. Winner of E vs Runner up D That's a sure banker fixture CIV vs Egypt 3. Runner up B vs Runner F Sen vs Tun (likely to happen) 4. Winner group D vs 3rd place team B/E/F Nigeria vs Malawi (almost likely to happen) Malawi is playing senegal in last group game, they jus need a draw to cement a 3rd place finish |

Samueltemi337: Nigeria can trash anybody in this AFCON. We need to make good use of our chances. We should stop being wasteful. Our defense also needs to be coordinated. Henceforth, i believe we need a 3-man midfield. 1 Like |

Good performance so far and I want to give kudos to Austin Eguavoen led technical team.Prior to Afcon Super eagles performances was at it's lowest ebb that required radical changes which led to sack of Gernot Rohr. Rohr sacked brought needed stability and confidence to the team with more fans ready to watch the team, our victory against Egypt gave us hope that we can do it again by conquering Africa just like we did in 1980,1994 and 2013. The team lost some of her regulars to injuries especially goals merchant Victor Osimehn but despite that Eguavoen was optimistic and never lose sleep unlike Rohr, against Egypt,Nigeria showed real dominant and against Sudan the team showed real champion traits. The inclusion and dropping of some players doesn't went well with some football fans especially on this thread,Nwakili,Olisa Ndah inclusion, dropping of Kevin Akpoguma but this happens, fans are not always satisfying when it comes to player selection.....but the team need our support irrespective of players selected. The analysis here were top notch with different views on how the team perform so far but some still trying to negate the team performance despite securing six points from two matches...some school of thought believes the midfield is not in existence, especially against Sudan but my big question,is it possible scoring three goals without having solid midfield?NO...it was just a game plan of Eguavoen and it paid well...We do forget easily that Sierra leone overran our midfield and came from 4 goals down to level us. The team is on the right track and sincerely we are winning this Afcon with right attitude. Good luck Super Eagles. 9 Likes |

I'd like to see Eguavon try a 3 man midfield against Guinea Bissau.. Yesterday, for a larger part of the first half, our midfield looked lean.. I'd like to see Ndidi Onyeka Iwobi or Onyeka Nwakali and Iwobi start against Guinea.. 1 Like |

Kog45: Nice interpretation but I think I share the fears of some. We lost the ball a bit too easily sometimes, and chose to make attacks in tight areas. Another was cohesion on the wings. I must say, Iwobi impressed me with his combinations with Aina and his play made us enjoy Aina too. However, I feel we are still too individualistic, especially when we want to break down oppositions. A good case is many times Simon Moses tried to take down players when zone marked. These little things I feel need addressing and also I think I like the idea of the long balls. However, against a compact defense, it is best to adopt some alternatives. On the whole, they played well but there is still work to do. We should still keep in mind that the ideas are still new and it is a growing team. So we can expect a stronger performance when we play after the good play. |

Danielnino00: I probably would also like to see the Onyeka-Nwakali-Iwobi midfield too. We play in a more possessive pattern than direct. I believe we will face another compact side when we meet Guinea and it is nice to try an alternate approach. Keep the ball in the midfield, just in front of the opposition wall with daring off the ball runs to expand the wall. Just a little spice to the philosophy we are playing. By the way, I was impressed with Iwobi's work rate and there was a track back run he made that was amazing. |

Danielnino00:Daniel,the issue here is Pro Aribo vs Pro Nwakili, nothing more. They know themselves and let them continue with their sentimental analysis. Aribo I saw yesterday is unplayable and Nwakili I saw against Sudan was impressive. Nigeria midfield yesterday did well. The game possession in both half told us that,so i don't see any reason condemning the two young men. When Aribo was subs out all technical crews member stood up to say boy well done and here we are looking for wrong passes, when midfield when to sleep, whereas Eguavoen did most of his playing on the wings.....Nwakili came in to brought stability, hold on to the ball, calmn it down, maintain the possession and he did it well. Really surprised seeing different views on their performances and I want to say am really impressed with Sir forgiveness analysis on both players, very balance judgment. 10 Likes 1 Share |
