Kog45: The Aribo/Nwakali comparisons look lame to me..It's unnecessary.. Both of them clearly had different jobs in the game...Aside a few heavy touches including the one in the box that ruined a goalscoring chance, Aribo had a fantastic game..He recovery the ball well, passed well and made good passes... Nwakali also tried to stabilize the midfield with his good passing accuracy (92%). They both did well.. I'd like to see Nwakali start against Guinea while Aribo rest.... If Nwakali start, his job won't be to stabilize the midfield unless Eguavon want to settle for a draw which I doubt... We need Aribo fresh for the knockout stage... 7 Likes 1 Share |

zuchyblink:Sir,goal mount scrambling a chance abi?ball that hit the post....Iheanacho pass that Awoniyi hit and deflected to corner by Sudanese defender and a pass by Simon that he squared play to the box but missed by Aribo.....Oga Zuchy, the only through pass was Iwobi pass at the right corner of the box. We have not missed a sitter so far unlike before that Ighalo do misses. |

andrewbaba44:Yes,but I would have love to see Aina on left side but better to rest cos of that yellow card. I still trust Aina as LB than Collins if Zaidu is not available...Good the team is depth, really surprising seeing us doing well with non availability of Osimehn,Balogun,Ighalo and injured Awaziem 2 Likes |

Of all those four, only two were proper big chances he missed. He can be excused for the others. Look, honestly speaking Awoniyi is doing well. He is leading the lines pretty good. He scored his first SE goal in just his 3rd start and 3rd cap. Chances come and Strikers won't Bury all. But with his first goal, I expect he will score more going forward. I want him starting that last game vs Bissau to further see him have more chances at goal. By his showings so far at this Afcon, even My Man Victor is proud. Awo dey try abeg. zuchyblink: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Kog45:All these funny comparison with Ighalo is uncalled for, the same tournament Awoniyi is playing Ighalo has won the golden boot in the last edition. No coach will bench Ighalo for Awoniyi,he is making it to the first XI because Ighalo's club refused to release him. There is no baseline for comparison |

Sportilitica:he didn't play badly but honestly the hype too much.. when you check his resume, you see the profile of a player at 23 who has toured round little/lower European clubs with little end products/ achievements to his name (in a space of 6 years). You now begin to wonder the chunk of praises some people heap on this lad. If he was that Good, one of these clubs he has been visiting atleast one should have grabbed him permanently and that shows one thing... They don't think he is good enough. I've not really watched Nwakali, he could possibly be a very good player no doubt. But the hype is damn too much for a player at such low level. What do we now say for our midfielders bossing European top leagues like Aribo, Ndidi, onyeka and Co. Make una fear God 2 Likes |

And you make me laugh saying Forgiveness was balanced. He wasn't!!! He lied about where our goals came from. He credited the midfield. And it was all a lie. Oga Kog dey talk true abeg. What was balanced in what Egbon Forgiveness said? We lost possession in the first half too much. We couldn't string good sequences of plays in the middle unlike what we saw when Nwakali stepped in. That is the truth. Passing recycling was important yet your egbon said it wasn't. Possession dropped to 55-45 before Nwakali stepped in and he brought it back up to 58-42 after his introduction with the way he conducted our Middle plays. Let us be honest in this thread abeg. Even you seeing everything concluded it is Pro Aribo vs Pro Nwakali. Na wa. Kog45: 4 Likes 2 Shares |

What exactly will change? Osimhen would still be Number 1 striker after the Afcon. Awo will still have Onuachu for competition as Super Eagles' Number 2 man in the CF role. This Afcon is Awo's chance to seal that Number 2 spot. That is the truth so make una no get other ideas into your head. Kog45: 1 Like 1 Share |

komekn: These are the strange and weird things we get to see.. Imagine a wack player getting played ahead of frank the Tank. It's beyond shocking. Eguavoen is trying so hard to sell Nwakali..Same thing he did in 2006 AFCON (taking a wack 19 year old Paul Obiefule to the tourney)..There are other players ahead of him that should be getting on the pitch. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Joezinho:How else are we supposed to explain that Nwakali and onyeka are different players and one cannot do the other's job? Nwakali is playing ahead of onyeka because we needed someone to stabilize the midfield. Eguavon is not Rohr that will play Ndidi and onyeka (both pure DMs) together against an inferior team. In the current set up onyeka is not competing with Nwakali, his competition is Ndidi ! And Nwakali has no competition (at what he does) in this AFCON squad. How else are we to explain this? TheSuperNerd and TheGoodjoe have explained this over and over again. And I find it surprising that Komekn with all his supposed involvement in football at the highest level still find it difficult to understand the simple point: Frank the TANK Nwakali the Ferrari (maybe Aba made Ferrari at present but a Ferrari all the same) you don see where Dem replace Ferrari with Tank before? .... They serve different purposes my man. 11 Likes 1 Share |

andrewbaba44:This is where you guys get it wrong, difficulty in separating hype from simple explanations. I've not seen any hype of Nwakali on this thread, just clarifications and explanations. Why is he in the team? And why is he playing. I don't understand why you call that hype We are only trying to explain that he is on the pitch for footballing reasons , nothing else 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hanibal: onyeka is a box to box midfielder (except you haven't been watching brentford's game all season).. Most times he drops back to help initiate buildup and make an impact in the final third but that doesn't make him a pure DM.. 8 Likes 1 Share |

About the match slatted for Wednesday, coach Eguavoen should start with a lineup dominated by the other players who are yet to feature. I expect to see the likes of Onyekuru, Olayinka, Onyeka, Ebuehi even Uzoho. I am of the firm belief that every player should be given the opportunity to show what he can offer. 11 Likes |

Although there is room for improvement, I see the super eagles making it to the final. My reason is predicted on the zeal amongst our players to win which was non existent in the time of Rohr. 11 Likes |
