I've come to notice that everytime a post is made relating to relationship or marriage, lots of nairalanaders don't even bother to fully comprehend and look at things from a neutral perspective, rather we all rush to take sides...

You'll see a post of a woman slapping a man and when the man fights back, the ladies come up to say that "real men don't beat women", "the man shouldn't have hit her back" and the likes. They'll crucify the man for defending himself forgetting that he wouldn't have resorted to that action if the woman didn't push him...

You'll also see a case of a man who cheats on a woman, the men will come up to say "body no be firewood" or "you can't be eating only egusi soup always" or "men are polygamous in nature and as such women should understand". When clearly the man's action ought to be condemned, but no, the man is our gender, so let's support him even when he's wrong ...

We see women supporting women even when clearly the woman in a given instance is wrong and out of place, yet they support themselves to prove what? Even when it is clear that she's the one at fault, yet they females either turn a blind eye to it or try to downplay the severity of her actions...

Men on the other hand are not left out...
They try to explain away another man's fault under the guise of "logic" and downplay his excesses, when in reality

Mysogynism, under the guise of feminism or redpill has now become the other of the day. We have become so vile and toxic, that almost nothing meaningful can be learnt here anymore ...

The question that troubles me then is...
Has it always been like this?
How did we get to this point?
What could be the cause of the high toxicity of male and female monikers in nairaland and can it be remedied?
