It's only painful that this administration and Tinubu that is lapping after them understands the basic fact that in Nigeria, first to go viral with a lie usually wins and not the truth afterwards. So they just keep firing the lies ahead while goodhearted people try to debunk unsuccessfully after them everytime. 1 Like |

And you want to still Keep singing for them! Tell us what you had benefitted from this TERROIST govt; they're about 2.5m people here coupled with those with multiple accounts. Let others here what you and your family had gotten from this govt of 7yrs ...We are waiting. |

This administration gets away with a lot of lies because those in position to challenge them have chosen to keep silent while the rest on social media are attacked with a barrage of insults from paid hacks of the FG. |

Well, the APC only rode on propaganda to win and they are still keeping their format But the sad reality is that some miscreants has vowed that Nigeria will never be better in their lifetime, with their bias support, no one is asking questions Everyone wants to be in the good books of the president Infact, hope is far from the matter. 1 Like |

thorpido: A government that can send the army to kill unarmed protesters and abducts dissidents all the way in Kenya can definitely deal with any conspiracy if indeed it considers it to be an issue. The government has also shown the capacity to revoke large contract e.g intels and used the AGF to frustrate the judiciary when it feel necessary. So leave the conspiracy issue, if the government really considers this to be an issue it would have taken action. All that lies in the flat performance is incompetence 2 Likes |

Blame Thief Olusegun Obasanjo for our current power problems as with almost all problems the country is currently facing. Was he not the president that brought in fake distribution companies who are just there to collect money and provide no power and also made these same distribution companies legally unsackable?. |

The lies they all used in riding into power, you now know why buhari said nigerian youths are lazy... no one wants to dissect facts made by this thieving politicians hence the mess we are in, jonathan didnt improve light... Jonathan didnt buy arms..soldiers have admitted that buhari never bought any arms, jonathan didnt build railway, its a fact now that he made payment for 85% completion of railway buhari commissioned, there is nothing like subsidy in fact buhari and broom sweepers protested against jonathan, yet the same buhari is still paying for subsidy he said doesnt exist..jonathan bankrupt nigeria , yet no one is persecuted or in jail, dasuki no where to be found.. i will pay every nigerian 5k.. i will make 1dolls into 1naira... e.t.c Lets leave tribalism and embrace nationalistic unity thats the only way forward not everyone will travel abroad in fact its becoming glaring that other countries have started discriminating against nigerians.. we should peruse every presidential aspirants campaign promise come 2023 and once lies are found such candidate should never be allowed to smell office.. thats what social media should help to do for us not being used to promote ethnic bigotry or irrelevant vices This is what made america so great... |

GenBuhari:You're either a kid too young to know better, or a brazen liar who thinks everyone else has a short memory. Nigeria's power situation has been a disaster since the 1970s, ever since the Gowon government nationalized everything in sight. In the 1980s, the joke was that NEPA meant "Never Expect Power Always", because electricity supply was so bad. Entire neighborhoods would actually cheer "Up NEPA" on those rare occasions when it was actually able to restore power. For you to come here and blame Obasanjo's reforms for a disaster that dates back so many decades is myopic at best. The real problem with Nigeria's power situation is a system that refuses to allow the markets to set prices, offers no effective means of dealing with non-payers, insists every GENCO and DISCO work with a single underfunded and decaying national grid, and maintains parallel exchange rates that scare off foreign investors, while making it harder for GENCO and DISCO owners to service their loans and pay for equipment. All of these problems are political ones, and their solutions are easy enough to understand but politically painful as they will be unpopular, especially with economic illiterates like you who personalize everything by blaming some other tribe (or person from some other tribe) for everything going wrong in your life. |

It is well known that the major stumbling block this government has faced with improving electricity, is the distribution companys unwillingness to distribute a lot of the power generated. Apparently they cannot be legally sacked and replaced because of agreement signed by Obasanjo. omohayek: |

thorpido:It's a lack of common Sense and proper leadership. Give Peter obi the power sector and see if it will not work or atleast have definite reforms that would lead to long term improvement. By the time he uses the first two months to sack who needs to be sacked and create common sense policies where needed, you would see changes. |

You all should be ashamed that you all Have failed your generation. |
Re: FG’s Pathetic Lies On Power Supply - Dele Sobowale by omohayek: 10:08am On Jan 17, 2022 |
GenBuhari:And why aren't they willing to distribute the power? Because they can't charge more for it than it costs them to acquire. Sacking them would do absolutely no good in this situation, as who in their right mind would be willing to step into their shoes? How do you make money selling something for less than it costs you, especially when half your customers outright refuse to pay, and large numbers routinely steal from you and threaten to butcher your employees who try to stop them? The ultimate root of Nigeria's problem is a Nigerian public unwilling to accept the true cost of power generation and distribution, and a Nigerian political class to self-seeking and cowardly to face its voters with the truth. Electricity is in chronic shortage in Nigeria for the exact same reason why every year sees petrol shortages in an oil-producing country - price-controls and other economic distortions intended to provide "awoof" to the masses end up having the opposite effect. |
Re: FG’s Pathetic Lies On Power Supply - Dele Sobowale by omohayek: 10:13am On Jan 17, 2022 |
CSTRR:And how will all this mass sacking fix the reality that the power grid is broken down and badly in need of billions of USD in new investment? How will it force the Nigerian armed forces and all the government parastatals owing billions of dollars to the DISCOs to pay their debts? How will it prevent entitled Nigerians with machetes from physically threatening DISCO employees who try to disconnect power thieves and non-payers? How will it end a situation where the GENCOs and DISCOs borrow and buy equipment abroad at an "official" exchange rate, but then have to pay their foreign obligations at a much higher "black market" rate? In a way, I envy diehard tribalists like you who think all of Nigeria's problems can so easily be solved simply by getting one of your "kinsmen" into the right position. It's so easy for you to be optimistic about solutions given how little understanding you have of the extent of the difficulties involved. 1 Like |
