Disagree a bit egbon. We can't avoid to play too many of our main guys and lose them to a fluke injury. I expect Okoye, Ndidi, Ekong and Awoniyi to start. I would like to see Ejuke and Collins start on the left. They linked up well in that away WC tie against cape verde. Iwobi and Nwakali will most probably start. Ebuehi too. Hopefully we get to see Onyeka, Onyekuru and Olayinka at some point in the match. Simon, Senior man and Aribo should sit this one out. Need them fresh for round of 16. Icon4s: 1 Like 1 Share |

Icon4s:well,you are kind of right on the card issue but the last time i checked we have just one player on a yellow which is Aribo. I just think we should give other guys the chance to show what they are capable of doing, i am sure they will want to impress and give the coach every reason to start them ahead of the regulars.. |

sophtcopy:I jus checked the standings now, as it stands B/E/F is fully represented by the following teams respectively Malawi/S-leone/Tunisia, with Tunisia leading the chart on top 3placed team....if Tunisia wins their last match they will move to second position leaving Malawi/S-leone as teams we may likely meet 1 Like |

iamdynamite: Good lineup but Awoniyi can't play and start every game, same with Nacho. I say we give Sadiq the opportunity to start and prove that his performance so far is not representative of his qualities. |

Icon4s:There's nothing more dangerous than a team that has belief in itself. With belief they can override tactical set ups, overcome set backs and stun even the best of teams. To come back 4-0 against Nigeria is no mean feat. |

Joezinho: Hahaha....tell me you aren't scared Nwakali's performance will dwarf Aribo's if given full time and constantly. You can play Aribo if you like but dont get hurt when your hype didn't equal the performances. Aribo has struggled in SE shirt before Eguavon, did you all forget ....lmao |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by drDoom3(m): 4:57pm On Jan 17, 2022 |
Icon4s: You can't play the same personnel every game. Which team that went far in any tournament you have watched used the same starting lineup from matchday 1 to finals? Your players will get fatigued, some will pick up muscle injuries. Remeber, games are 4 days apart and the matches only get tougher and more intense. |

minfelix:That's right but don't forget Algeria can be in the mix too if they manage to defeat Ivory coast by a goal margin I don't know why I'm even bringing up this permutation convo tbh, the eagles I saw against Egypt will outplay and defeat any team in this AFCON. it's only Cameron that may be a bit hard nut to crack but I still don't think they stand a chance against us All things being equal, Nigeria na confirmed favourite for the trophy |

IDENNAA: I want Nwakali to start against Bissau. If he doesn't produce what Aribo has been producing... well it's not his fault, he is not on Aribo's level so you can't really expect the same performance. I will be happy though if he comes close. It'll give us much desired depth from the bench going forward. 6 Likes |

Mujtahida: They started migrating there before the war; so was Cameroon . Many Igbo migrated to Cameroon and became very wealthy upon return. And you may know the Republic of Equatorial Guinea is close to Cameroon... The Igbo word for ashawo , akwunakwuna was borrowed from a Calabar tribe who are of same ancestry with Panya/Republic of Equatorial Guinea. Hitherto , Igbo had no knowledge of prostitution. 6 Likes 1 Share |

drDoom3:It's not Aribo v Nwakali That's what muddies the water. It's all about improving the quality of our play. I am an Aribo fan but it does not mean when Nwakali plays better than him I will shut my eyes to it. Truth is that we should never desire that any of our players should have a bad game. iamdynamite: Awoniyi himself didn't really impress with almost 45 mins of game time against CAR in Lagos, but see how well he is doing here. Sadiq came in 72' against Egypt, 82' against Sudan. That's 26 minutes of gametime so far in the tournament. That's too small to judge a player on, especially if he has not been given a chance to start. Let him start. If he performs poorly first half chop him off and put Olayinka in as CF. We are so lucky to have a dead rubber game, let's use the opportunity well. 6 Likes 1 Share |
