Good Day Everyone,

Please I would like to know what next to do, attached is my application status. After sending several emails and webform as suggested on the platform, I finally got a response on the 5th on January from Nairobi and on the 10th of January from IRCC, attached is the response I got. My initial start date was 10th January 2022 but I had to Defer it to 7th March 2022. The following are my questions,

1. Should I upload my new Letter of Acceptance Via Webform and Email?

2. Should I also add my bank statement as well or it isn't necessary?

3. Is there any other documents I need to add as well?

4. Should I continue sending IRCC emails and webform even after the response I got?

5. Is there anyone who has my timeline of submission 6th September 2021, Medicals Passed 25th October 2021 and still waiting for a response/PPR from IRCC? Btw I have already done my Biometric from a visiting visa application in 2020 so I don't need it cause its still valid on my profile for 10years.

Thank You for the anticipated Response.
God Bless

1. Should I upload my new Letter of Acceptance Via Webform and Email? Yes, you can send them this via webform and e-mail. They would still request this from you when they are making thier final decision on your file so no harm in sending it since you have deferred your admission

2. Should I also add my bank statement as well or it isn't necessary? There is no need since they did not request this from you. I suppose you have already submitted this with your application.

3. Is there any other documents I need to add as well? No, keep sending them regular reminders since your application has exceeded standard processing times

Hi, please see my response above. I hope this helps.

Additionally, what i did based on my own experience and two of my friends i supported on thier application was to help in requesting for thier GCMS notes. This helped to determine if the application is going smoothly without issues.

So, you can request for your GCMS notes to know what is going on with your application.

All the best!

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by mama12345: 2:54pm On Jan 17, 2022
Thank you for the response Olasubomy, it was really helpful. Yes I already requested for GCMS on the 4th of January, there is a wait time of 35days, its only been 13 days so I am hoping I get a PPR before the GCMS notes is out.

Got my original passport request letter this morning!! It can only be God. I have been following this page since I started my application last year.
My timeline as follows:

1. Submitted my online application on 30th March, 2021
2. Did biometric on the 12th April, 2021
3. Got medical exam request on 12th September, 2021
4. Did my medicals on 30th September, 2021
5. Medical passed updated on October 14th, 2021
6. My passport was about to expire so I got a request to submit a new one before 20th Nov, 2021 which I wasn't able to submit before that time because of the delay in passport as usual
7. Got my new passport on 31st December, 2021
8. I updated the new one on my account on the 3rd January, 2022 but I didn't sign it till 13th of this month; but I later got to know that since it was just showing "document uploaded but not submitted to IRCC" I was confused though!
9. I got it signed and submitted it to IRCc on my account was updated on 14th this month
10. I got a correspondence letter and original passport request on 17th January, 2022

I have started my study from naija here since September though! Going to Cambrian College in Sudbury.!!!!

P.S.: I don't know how to get my passport submitted to the VAC yet. Please I need help about that . Every hopeful applicant will smile by God's grace!!!

Anyways, I submitted the usual documents, i didn't bother to submit too much documents. My brother who is in Australia, a medical doctor is my sponsor and my mum

You wont be needing a new visa since you won't be travelling out of canada . Usually after your program you can stay in canada up till 90days ( if you dont plan to apply for a pgwp) or the expiry date on your study permit whichever comes first . But in your case since you intend to start a new program and it takes about 4months before the new program starts I would advice you stay for the 90day but before the 90days expires you apply for your study permit extension. Which usually takes a about 58days to process then as soon as it is ready you can start your new program.
When applying for study permit extension in Canada you are usually not required by IRCC to show proof of funds. But just make sure you pay your school fees. And another advice to you is that you try to apply for you second program on time even before you finish the first semester of your first program.
N:B immediately after you finish your first program you need to stop working if you are doing any part time job. Only start working again when you get your new study permit

Oh whaoO, tnks so much Sir!

1) My program starts May this years ends Dec. The 90 days will be over end of March/early april next year but i love the second program to start May 2023, if the 90 days ends early april, will the study extension covers for the April before i start my second program?

2) will the study permit covers the time i wanted even if it is earlier than my academic start date? Can the permit be extended till 2yrs or 3?

3) tnks for the advice of applying for the second program early enough, but i don't want to use my 1st degree cert in Nigeria but my PGcert for Masters directly so it means i have to graduate from my first program and i thought applying jan 2023 for May intake.

4) do you know if admission in most Universities (like Uni of toronto, MGill, UBC..) will still be on in Jan, for May 2023?
Or when do admission comes out?

5) and why do you say i should stop working after the first program? I should be able to work fully during the 90 days if my permit has not expired....

Congratulations. May Canada favour us all.

Hello,
I think you should talk to the gurus in the house @makano, lekkiboboe, frankrobbn about this. They will be able to help you.
The only advice I can give you is to get admission from a school (DLI) first (because that one is the most important) before you start the stress of visa processing. All the best to you.

Hello
Thanks to everyone keeping this platform
Alive .
I am new here and I would like to apply for study permit ,I got admission into fanshawe college ,and the course relates more to my work experience.
I graduated in 2007 with a 2-1 and I have been working since them.My questions are as follows
Can I do a post graduate certificate instead of a masters how do I defend this ,my reason is simply I can’t stress for a 2 year program when I can complete in a year,my years of experience would count for something if I need to get a job.(13 years)
Can I apply with my kids ,I have 4 kids 3 are citizens and I am contemplating whether to go with the youngest who is barely 2 years
I have an issue with my pof,I have it in an investment account and I hear Canada doesn’t accept investment accounts
Can I liquidate into my savings account and explain in my sop or should I just send the investment certificate.
My hubby is sponsoring but he prefers to pay the money into my account ,this would come in as a lump sum should I get a gift deed letter or just explain that he contributed towards my tuition.
Finally, has anyone applied with a us citizen for study permit and got refused(asking because I am contemplating going with all 3 and leaving only one behind )
Thank you

Dear Fellow Nairalanders,

I am a second-time applicant, Reapplied on the 30th of October, 2021 with an up-front medical. Didn't get any update until I started sending them emails and sending web forms from the 9th of January to 14th and I noticed a Ghost update today and when I went into my profile, I noticed my Upfront Medicals has been updated.

So, what other queries do I send to VOs and to who, Abuja or Nairobi ?

Cc makano, lekiboboe ,Ketima and ever other experienced individuals please a comment would be appreciated
I need your “opinion” on this take please, which seems more lucrative to study in Canada
Business administration (international business)
Or
Business administration (marketing)
Any other suggestions on business related career pathways would be appreciated
NOTE — for a younger sibling first degree

From my professional experience, I will suggest Business Administration with specialisation in International Business is more lucrative after studies in Canada.

Did you cover for the 10 years experience? If you don't have upto that length of experience, you can fill in your undergraduate studies and NYSC period in the field.

The ghost update you noticed on your profile is a signal that your application is actively being worked on by an immigration officer at the Canadian embassy in Nairobi. To further expedite a decision on your file, channel your enquires to the visa office in Nairobi for updates.

From the look of things I think your application is in its final stage and a decision is about to be made based on the fact that they are already reviewing your eligibity. So just relax and hope for the best outcome
