Have you tried moving your freezer to see what's behind or underneath.

This could be a rat or a snake. Most probably a snake. They go out in the morning and come to rest at night. You may want to fumigate the entire house.

That house is not good

There's this strange odour that hangs at a corner of my house every night close to my freezer, but in the morning it will be gone, I'm a very clean person I give my house thorough cleaning everyday n weekends especially. And this odour smells heavily like "ogiri" or something like that and I don't know what to do anymore, cos I'm even embarrassed of allowing anyone spend a night with me. Please what should I do? I've even cleaned inside and out of the freezer and even removed it from that corner, yet the smell still comes every night.....

Since it smells like ogiri, putrefaction must be going on around there which means it could be a dead rat or gecko. It's noticeable at night because of poor cross ventilation. Check your compressor compartment carefully the mystery could be lurking there.

I've already moved the freezer, I changed the location the space is empty yet the smell still comes and hangs there only at night

Also,hope you dont have a rug in the house? They are the worst retainer of foul smell. A tiled floor,bare or rubber floor is always better.

Allow your freezer to defrost,then thoroughly clean and move it away from its usual location for a day. This will reveal where the smell is actually coming from. Something as simple as a fresh crayfish that fell into a crevice could cause it.

Check the walls beside the freezer....hope there are no crevices there too....

Air you place more even at night. Sometimes, you dont smell things in the day because the place is well aired. But at night when you lock up, the air become tighter.

If it is inside your fridge, call a technician to see what the problem is. If it is from the wall near your fridge, move your refrigerator to another area and observe if the smell still dey there. Else, you may want to go get your nose checked.

It is well o....is it a new occurrence? Could it be coming from the ceiling or attic? One night crawling rodent might be bringing a visitor to the top of the roof so you might have been looking at the wrong spot. Good luck with winning on this. Cheers.
