Check the formula and digest it first, you cant argue with mathematics nobody is conjuring numbers from FIFA's POV.

What is the formula? You are trusting Fifa's mathematical excuse for their nonsense

You mean the ones they were winning alongside Ethiopia when there wasn't much competition? Besides they are just one cup ahead of us, hopefully we'll equal that this time around.

We tend to give Ghana more respect than they deserve when it comes to football.. Probably because they have a better H2H than us . But truth is, they aren't much of a football powerhouse up to our level..Maybe they have been unlucky Sha..

Nawao . I didn't expect this kind of thing from you o..
With all your knowledge of football, you are telling me that you don't know how the ranking works?

You and Subzero are trying to imply that FIFA just dash teams ranking anyhow...
Do u even remember how low Algeria were ranked before they won AFCON?
This ranking isn't magic o...it's mathematics...

Baba ,you explained earlier and I understand you ,trust me

But this thing Dey somehow ,reason am nah

I didn’t mean that FIFA dash teams rankings anyhow ,that point is just too much just because they lost to EG ,they deserve to retain their position at least .

Exactly.. Whatever point they gathered from winning the AFCON wasn't enough to rank them first in Africa because the teams ranked ahead of them at that time also gathered enough points to keep the gap reasonable...

They lost 28 points from losing one match tell me what points they have gathered from a 35 match unbeaten run plus winning the Afcon that Morocco eclipsed

grin grin. Yes ooo. Even at the UCL. Remember Referee Tom Ovrebo ?

I heard UEFA admitted that referee Deniz Aytekin played a major role in Barca’s 6-1 win over PSG cox several of his decisions aided Barca in overturning a 4-0 deficit from the first leg of the tie.. cheesy

Tom ovrebo no try at all ,but you see that Barca 6-1 win against Barca was worth it

But how far what we do witness at the epl weekly grin

The ball does not need to near you for you to get a red card. He pulled and stamped on a player for no reason. Silly foul to commit
You have even misjudged the situation more than the ref. Red card? So the ref should have awarded a red card plus penalty?

They won the Afcon in 2019 and went on a 2 year unbeaten run since then but somebody is using mathematics as an excuse why they should be third in Africa behind Morocco that clashed out of the group stage of the last Afcon

Presently Ghana is on the same level as Uganda. Their fans are shocked.

They lost to a team ranked 114 in the world in a competition like the AFCON!

Morocco didn't eclipse anything. They were far ahead of Algeria in the ranking before they won the 2019 AFCON...All the points Algeria gathered in the 2019 AFCON wasn't enough to overtake Morocco...And Morocco were equally in form after AFCON.....

the calculation is based on an average of a four year run, so its not exactly a direct addition or subtraction, its an average of your performances over the last four years.

FIFA ranking is continuous... it isn't a "stop and continue" kind of thing...

Equatorial Guinea are ranked 114 in Africa.. Have you forgotten so soon that we lost a lot of points after losing to CAR? We also lost a lot of points after drawing twice to Liberia..

I'm sorry, but I'm convinced you and Subzero don't know how the ranking works..

So the 28 points they were subtracted for losing against E. G was a 4 year result? If they going by 4 year results which they aren't Algeria will still be solidly no 1 in Africa because they have lost only once in the last 4 years

Algeria was 4th behind Morocco in 3rd before the last Afcon so they were not far behind Algeria then won the Afcon and Morocco crashed out to lowly rated Benin in the group stages, Algeria then went on an additional 2 year unbeaten run, and still ended up behind Morocco in African rankings can you explain it without looking ridiculous?

Which Algeria were 4th before the last AFCON?

Okay let me try to explain, in a class a student scores 95, 93, 85, 32, 22 and the second scores 68, 55, 51, 62, 50
Student A gets an average of 65.4 while Student B gets an average of 57.2, despite failing two courses Student A comes first in class.

To bring it home, Nigeria played Brazil and Argentina two teams in the top 10 and drew those matches, those are the kind of draws that would boost your points, not Oman and Syria.

There are too many saboteurs in West African football, this is perhaps, the most limiting thing

Before such a thing can be set up, a descendant of a slave trader would have gone to sell out the rest of the region to higher powers. Na the main problem be that.

We are still enjoying the Afcon, we never know those Federation presidents that wanted to sabotage this Competition kicking off. Shameful lots.

Even ECowas be like house divided against itself. Plus the Anglo/Franco angle too.

What about the games they drew?

You don't know how the ranking works at all..

It's simple, the amount of points u lost from losing a game depends on how low your opponent is behind you in the world ranking..
If draw with an opponent ranked below you, you lost points too..

Algeria were able to overtake us in the ranking after we drew twice with Sierra Leone..Those two draws cost us points...
