Guys, I need help on this ASAP. Please You can only try but make such something significant changes before you re-appear if not, you can defer to next semester. For example, If you don't have funding now, try and secure one before your next interview. Best of luck 1 Like |

I'm still in the process of applying o.Dont know much for now but before you applied, I hope you filled their "preapplication form"?.When you get a reply from them after a week or so after filling that form ,that is when you should know whether to go ahead with the main application for the admission or not You request for the Scholarship by filling "pre application form".It is in their student portal when you click on the Course you intend doing. Are you for masters,PhD or undergraduate? |

Thanks everyone for your contributions for far. Got delayed last friday 14th
First attempt Location: Abuja Course: Masters International relations and affairs VO: White lady seated in the last cubicle to the right.
VO: I see you are going to the New School for your Masters Me: Yes, very correct
VO: Why are you studying international relations? Me: To pursue my ambition and build up on my Bachelor's degree where I studied Political science in order to contribute in policy formation and to be an ambassador for my country
VO: What would you be do after your study? Me; First I would be taking a higher role at my current work place as already assured by my director. He wrote my recommendation letter to the school
VO: Where do you work? Me: XYZ company
VO: What do you do there? Me: I described but not exact words with what I filled on my ds-160
VO: Who would be sponsoring you? Me: My cousin would be my major sponsor while my dad would be supporting
VO: What does he do? Me: I forgot then began to stutter trying to remember. Before I could remember she moved on to the next question. At a point I said f**K and I think she heard
VO: Have you traveled out of the country before? Me: No, I haven't had a reason to do so.
VO: Hands over blue paper. I no even bother myself because me self no say I Bleep up.
Truthfully I no say I really Bleep up. Some lessons learnt although the settings of the environment was absorbed. I wasn't expecting to have my interview while standing with many people behind me listening to all I was saying. I initially imagined it to be behind closed door and seated like a proper interview. That idea of standing to talk to someone seated behind a glass still doesn't make sense to me.
Any which way, we move to try again latter, congratulations to everyone that received their visa at this time 20 Likes 2 Shares |

Vo good morning
Me good morning ma (while I passed my documents)

Me yes, with concentration in animal nutrition.

Vo what will you be working on at the University of Maine?
Me (I stuttered and at this point I thought I had blown it.) I will be evaluating the effect of experimental formulation of experimental diet on livestock (this was total rubbish from what I had in mind I had to just join something to make sound legit)
VO tell me about your thesis
Me (I already gathered some momentum here) I will be working on use of fungal enzymes to develop nutritive additives to improve profitability in livestock production.
VO Who is funding your education? Me my brother mr kazeem , who is into oil and gas business. He also has real estate business and he currently oversee the family business.

Me yes ma.(thinking I already blew it.)
Vo I will be holding on to your international passport . (Then she said those words people claim to not hear )
I remember picking the word passport and i-20. The moment I noticed she took my passport and didn't use her left hand to pick the blue paper, my mind was screaming "it's a lie"
The atmosphere was really bad today Chelsea FC just full Abuja embassy today. I would say 1 out of every 20 that went in was given white paper. I had to pinch myself if I wasn't dreaming.
This visa thing is not even by how fluent you might think you are. I was shaky throughout. At a point I told myself "Ayo, tiẹ ta". At that point I forgot what my thesis is about...I saw guys that were very fluent and even confident... na Blue paper dem collect.
Who go dash me correct jacket wey fit hold -20⁰C. Maine is not for the weak. Happy for you,,,congratulations 3 Likes |

Hello , Please guys help on this: I applied to several colleges as undergraduate in the US, 2 of them(private) already admitted me, two rejected me, while I am still waiting for the rest (about 6), But, I heard that the VO most time reject visa for students going to study in a private university in the US, How true is this please .
The two universities are Transylvania and Chatham University, please, I will also like to know some other accepted undergraduates here.
And lastly, i would like to know if probably there is a government funding or any private scholarship for international students to study in the US Thanks |

The thing is, as long as you can defend whatever purpose you are going to the embassy for, you are good to go doesn't matter whether private or public universities. On scholarship or any form of funding, ask your school about it if there's any available. You can also check on other schools. What you actually want is ask if they have Scholarships for international students and how to be considered. I swear, I can bet the settings contributed to my getting denied, I am a very private person and I like to keep my things private especially in my plans. In fact, sharing my transcript is simply because I am reading other peoples own and it feels unfair not to share mine that I shared it. My imagination and expectation was completely different from what I met there and I was put off balance the moment I stepped into the hall and saw the formation. I could hear other people been interview especially one guy that was just mentioning million of naira his father and his uncle earns working with Dangote but ended up been denied . When my turn came, it was like the whole world was on me, as much as I wanted to keep my voice down, the lady insisted I spoke louder so I had no choice but to shout so everyone could here Ijchichi5190:

If I should ask what exactly are you studying right now in university? Microbiology, aquacultures and fisheries, or computer science? Olatemmanuel01:
I've started this process already before receiving admission, so I've spent a lot of money for me to say I want to have a change of plan which is to opt in for a master program, thereby having to forfeit all my initial payment and most importantly my plans. I just received admission this year and i am studying aquacultures and fisheries. can i relate it to microbiology which i intend to go study in US? Wont it look somehow to the consular seeing i am studying a different course here and I want to go study another course oversee? |
