Your eye didn't see the curved shot he parried to a corner, but continue with your agenda

komekn:

He parried the ball straight into the pathway of the oncoming player, they nearly go the rebound and scored.

It's very poor to goalkeeping it's literally a school boy error

Good result from the team but for the first time, we saw real weaknesses a good side can exploit. The Guinea Bissau team was well-coached for the game. They studied our strategy and exploited some weaknesses.

The half-space gaps were exploited and this happened due to the midfielders pushing forward. The coaching crew will need to sort that out fast. If the midfielders push, a full-back must sit. It should be systematic. We need to keep covering gaps as we exploit our opposition with our attacking play.

We are also vulnerable to long balls. I think the Guinea Bissau team reflected what Eguavoen wants to achieve with our team. I believe unlike us, the Guinea Bissau team has been working on it for some years while we are just a few weeks in.

So our weak point remains defensive gaps and I believe by going through the tape, the coaching crew can spot it and come up with a better routine for our attacking play.

Guinea Bissau wasn't a well coached team if you really and honestly watched the match you'll have noticed it was the Guinea Bissau players that were coaching themselves and sometimes they were coaching their own coach and giving him instructions..

Olisa David Luiz in the making, see ball playing,my God the guy really shut me up.

That Mexico match hurt his stock but I always felt he was one of the best defenders I ever saw in the NPFL. When it comes to technique there is no one close. I think he helped Akwa strikers a lot last season because instead of abusing them for not scoring the fans will be busy cheering Olisa Ndah at the back grin

Haba... His poor game wasn't even due to his misses. It was due to his playing style and poor decision making. He only had two big misses, one was the one-on-one. It was clear the guy was nervous, let's cut him some slack. I've gone in-depth to analyze his game and how he's a confidence player. His gameplay is not sleek or flashy like Awo or Osimhen, but he had presence (which was something Olayinka lacked) and was very unselfish. If he can calm his nerves and sort himself out, he'll come out good.

Awoniyi , olayinka and osimhen are not sleek or flashy they are direct players.

Olayinka had more presence than Sadiq and he doesn't hold on to the ball for long like Sadiq and brings other attackers into the game unlike sadiq..

Rohr was using players in makeshift roles too often, Eguavon us using them in their natural role..
Rohr tried to clip our traditional style of wing playing by making our wingers defensive minded, Eguavon has freed them and given them freedom to soar..
Rohr was limiting Ndidi's influence by playing him in a double pivot midfield, Eguavon has given Ndidi a lone ranger role by allowing his midfield partners freedom up front...

Rohr na otu cheesy
Otu na Rohr grin grin

About Jibola Adebola...
Truth be told, he did well.. His passing and set piece were on point... He could have had an assist from that beautiful ball to Sadiq...His main problem was his work rate off the ball... I think going forward, Eguavon shouldn't bring him on for games that are too physical...But when we need somebody to stabilize the midfield, he's definitely the man for the job..

As for Sadiq, the goal won't take off the fact that he was poor today..he's been poor all tournament... Seriously,he has disappointed those of us that clamoured for his call up..The knockout stage is serious business...he should remain on the bench .I'll prefer Olayinka in his place...

Nwakali did well off the ball... Winning tackles is not his strong point but he was closing down players and doing his defensive duties.

But to be honest rohr clipped the wings of this team ooo

See as bois Dey fly with freedom and swagger. Simon Moses is too good to be in Nantes, he deserves to be playing for any Lyon,Marseilles, lille or any decent team in the epl

Ndidi so far hv been my most valuable player. Dude hv been a rock in midfield with good ball distribution and energy.

Awoniyi have shown that he is a worthy cover for osimehn

Resurgent ekong and omeruo in our first 2 games were unplayable but seeing Ajayi against guinea got me confused on who is better among the trio

Oliseh nda was too smooth and calm on the ball. He needs to leave the SA league ASAP for Europe

Eguavoen is on the right path and shouldn’t allow sentiment or egunje taking to disrupt this good work he has on ground at the moment. Even if the team fails to win the competition I am satisfied with what I hv seen so far

The nff should shelve the idea of brining in another coach for now and back Austin to continue with the team atleast after the World Cup his appointment can be reviewed for renewal if the team performs decently at the world stage

That Sadiq goal, possibly only goal in knock out stage will give him good rating irrespective of his overall displayed....goals do count in rating but Naija fans dey para for Sadiq o.

grin come and see them following me bumper to bumper on my channel. Funny thing is that I knew that reaction was coming but if I start giving ratings I feel people would expect I will end up losing myself.

Simon should leave Nantes asap

How on earth Rohr was able to imprison Simon Moses on the pitch for five years needs to be studied in universities. How can a player go from a bang average defensive fullback to prime Neymar with just a change of coach? What the heck was Gernot doing to Simon?!

I'm not even angry with Rohr. I'm astounded.

Rohr was encouraging mediocrity and downgrading Nigerians expectations and downgrading Super Eagles ambitions and targets... He didn't believe Nigerian born and grown players are good enough just like many people on this thread especially komekn.

Will advise he stay put in the French league or even go to Spain
Not all players will flourish in the EPL and moreover EPL may expose him to many injuries since he does better with the ball in his feet

Stay put in which French league ?

If epl come make e go abeg ,he has played in Spain before

Epl is even more easier for players from the French league

I believe Ajayi is an upgrade on Omeruo. He offers the same level of defensive solidity plus superior ball-carrying ability and an excellent aerial threat.

Ekong x Ajayi is the way from now on.

Normally I prefer ajayi to omeruo

But no worry Na omeruo go start next game okay ,omeruo has done so well and he should continue playing

Thank you

if Raphinha dey comot, it won't be sweet for him. The two are players that compliment each other. Everton too aint bad. He'll become a cult hero if he performs in Merseyside Derby. But Aston Villa is my preferred destination.

Friends, Countrymen, Nairalanders.....

Here we are now.... Singing praises of a local coach. The one we will not willingly support for 5years.
The one journalists will slander about his choice of players. The one NFF will not pay USD20000 for as salary but will rather pay a con artist USD 55000. I think its time we told ourselves the blatant truth. We have the right tools. We just need an enabling environment to thrive and this is why meritocracy will always win over nepotism and sentiments.

On NPFL players.... (The Olisa Ndah story)
Now we can see that if we do actually (and I mean every word of ACTUALLY) scout and comb the nooks and crannies of our country, we will find diamonds in the rough that need shaping and moulding into fine end product. We were sold lies (actually I wasnt deceived) that players in the local league lacked the basics. This a lie spun around to keep the narrative of foreign borns and foreign based players going by the Administrators who want foreign quick fixes at all costs. Foreign quick fix that cost us 5years of no identity. If we had actually put merit in place for all the supposed NPFL players we choose for CHAN instead of federal character and selfish interests, our football wont be in this mess.

On Gernot Rohr and his Sojourn...
I have never hidden my viewpoint on the gaffer as a clueless fella right from the match against SA in Uyo up into the friendlies leading to the world cup. The reason i stopped posting here for quite a long time is because people saw us as formidable when in actual fact it was a matter of time before we got exposed. Any voice against Rohr was quickly silenced with brash insults left right and centre. And of course, who could blame people? With several allegations of bribery on the part of our local coaches, poor man management and nepotism.... all of these hasnt helped the cause for calls for a local coach.
I believe now that we all can see that it is all about coaching philosophy and not Insha Allah. Same players ... different results!!!

2023 and beyond....
Let us as a nation strive for excellence and meritocracy. Lets start by voting the right people into power. People with track record of good works and not choosing lesser of 2 evils. The misgovernance of 4years can never be undone by a 30 year good rule. If you dont believe me, ask yourselves how we got here with Bandits, kidnappers and Fulani Herdsmen. Also ask how we will repair the damage that has been done to our very fibre as a nation where tribes and ethnic groups no longer trust each other. (Which is what politicians want... so we dont ask questions) Let us do the right thing. Remove criminal elements from our midst by not voting people of questionable character, people who offer N2000 and a 2kg rice to electorates and mortgage their future to the tune of trillions of dollars.

God bless Nigeria

Oga we are not here for experiment
U don't go play against Senegal or Cameroon missing chances and poor decision making like this... with their pace they would take u on a counter and score u goals

We don't need to experiment with Sadiq or try build his confidence level in the round of 16, 8 and more... we need strikers that can get the job done so please let Taiwo lead the attack and Olayinka come in as sub biko

Shebi Na this same sadiq u take Dey yab onuachu With una blind analysis

Frank Onyeka completed 3x more tackles in his 14 minutes* cameo than Nwakali has in the entire tournament.

The latter has played 111 minutes.

*Modified: 10 minutes actually.

nwakali really needs to work on his work rate

Before Onyeka came in it seem ndidi was over stressed when the team is chasing the ball

Kelechi is very good on the ball with good passing ability but to be a complete CM/DLM he needs to up his agility and stamina cus this qualities are required mostly from coaches of this generation
