Hi everyone! I don’t know if this has been discussed earlier here, because it’s been a while I came in here. I have a very big issue with mold in my house. Been cleaning and cleaning but it keeps coming back darker, bigger and scarier. I had to complain to the leasing agent and the landlord’s contact was sent to me. He handles all the repairs in his house. This man keeps saying I should clean and open the windows but this isn’t working. I keep opening the windows despite this extremely cold weather but the molds keep getting bigger. My kitchen entirely turned black and I have to scrub the Walls every 2 weeks. I signed a one year contract and I’ve just spent 4 months. In fact getting a house in Wales, Swansea to be precise is like hitting a million pounds jackpot so moving out is not even an option now. Kindly advise on how to deal with the molds of you have ever being in my shoes . I’m so particular about it because I have 2 children ages 2 and 4 and I heard inhaling it over time could cause respiratory issues especially in children and elderly. I’m so sorry for my long post. Good evening! |

I will move to the UK next month by God's grace, Sunderland to be precise. How do I go about getting an apartment in the UK while still here in Nigeria. Is it okay to stay in an airbnb for two to three months while searching for a good apartment? I'm moving with my husband |

rollykotex: Try mould spray. There are several brands. I used one with the brand name "Astonish" when I had that issue. 2 Likes 4 Shares |

ShalewaT: Yes, if possible. It is always good to do physical inspection before paying for an apartment here. |

rollykotex: If you are cleaning and cleaning then it might be a damp issue. Sometimes you can have leaks in the roof which no matter the cleaning it would still come back quickly because u not address the root cause Start looking for a house so you kids don't have respiratory problems. Then keep disturbing the Landlord to pay a specialist to come investigate . The landlord no won spend money if not a specialist can easily spot the source . It probably a leak somewhere |

rollykotex:The earlier you start looking for another accommodation, the better. The place is damp. Might be leaking pipe. I hate that ugly looking thing with passion. Next house, check the walls very well. Nobody both adult or kids should endure living in such environment. 3 Likes 1 Share |

rollykotex: As others mentioned, until the cause is addressed the moulds will continue. Keep disturbing the landlord and the agency and ensure all your correspondence is via email, even if you speak on phone with them biko follow up with a mail. Let them know the health implications to your children and threaten to get the council involved. This was all I did in my last rental before moving to my own place. It worked like magic, they sent specialist who discovered the mould/damp is from a leak in the chimney. 3 Likes |

amanze54:I need this info too. Being going pages back but can't find it. I tried wise and saw a popup that CBN has banned naira transfer. They gave another option though that will still make the money reach the recipient in Nigeria. You can give it a try...select usd as target currency, select swift then put your naira bank account number. |

descarado:Thanks for your input. I actually skipped that part in my previous post. That is how to detect a mold infected house in my subsequent leases, since all houses are mostly freshly painted and nice looking when initially moving in. |

mizGene: We many when they find this ...lol. sadly it been turned to serious black market runs. So many of the private sponsors are quietly asking for money. Big money self ... when really there a shortage of labour and should be the one begging you to work. Ms Patel biko sort it Abeg when you see let me know . I am looking for, my village is plenty |

LagosismyHome: It's soo annoying oo and hope it doesn't backfire in the nearest future. I don't trust UKVI for anything. Meanwhile the true shortage exists in domiciliary care and they are the major ones I see offering sponsorship right now. If you claim you are Lewis Hamilton and drive a car, its sponsorship straight up. Regarding the courses, NVQ is health care can help but honestly I feel driving skill tips the application in your favour. |

Fill out and submit the application here:https://consular.mfaservices.nl/schengen-visa/short-stay?lang=en Book your biometrics appointment here: https://visa.vfsglobal.com/gbr/en/nld/login Cost here: https://www.netherlandsworldwide.nl/countries/united-kingdom/living-and-working/consular-fees More info here: https://www.netherlandsworldwide.nl/countries/united-kingdom/travel/applying-for-a-short-stay-schengen-visa It's an easy process. You'd need insurance, about £200 daily for each day you're spending, accommodation arrangements and flights (they don't need to be confirmed). Captaincool1: 12 Likes 3 Shares |

When we say bathroom/toilet/kitchen/ bedroom in the same space, are we referring to a Studio flat? What Nigerians call a Self contained apartment? Because I live in a studio currently and love it. I do not mind Chreze's posts. They can be quite informative. When you say they are long, that doesn't bother me as nairaland is not charged per page and I ve got a scroll button. * shrugs * 7 Likes |
