Kog45: The person I quoted wasn't referring to this thread but fb or twitter where most people were dragging the Sadiq matter along tribal line instead of footballing. They called him all derogatory names; cow, aboki etc. They said he was invited based on "quota system, connection or a minister boy." If that was true, what about the other guy invited from the same league? Did anyone say he was invited based on quota system? Instead, she decided to pick what would suit her bias narrative that Northerners are defending Sadiq. It was the same Komekn that Said Sanusi was all pace but no brain... A typical Aboki. Can't they just criticize without attaching where he comes from or using a derogatory word like "Aboki" to refer to all northerners? Despite all the criticisms Onuachu faced, I never saw anyone calling his tribe or where he comes from when criticizing his performance. I have never come here to clamor for the inclusion of any northerner or even hype any player before. I followed this thread because it was talking about Super Eagles and TheSupernerd previous thread talking about Nigerian players abroad not northerners. 5 Likes |

humility33: Okay, Just someone referring to the coach as bias and you used that to tagged Northerners along. I guess you didn't see all the comments on fb dragging the Sadiq matter along tribal line and calling him all sort of names? Since the first match that Sadiq was been criticized about his performance, did you see me complaining or defending him here? 1 Like |

Isahalbash: Which biased narrative? I know the kind of senseless back and forth I went on with a Northerner on Twitter the day before yesterday, I know the kind of rubbish I saw from Northerners since that Saturday on Twitter. Sadiq was not a good player. You can argue against people using certain terms to describe him, terms I did not even use, but what you cannot argue is that he was good and that is what the people I encountered were arguing for. You don't even know where I was coming from, you just came at me because of silly tribal invectives. Did I use any derogatory term on Sadiq? You were very defensive for whatever reason, and like I told you, you know why you felt attacked and I cannot do anything about that, but I also know why I chose to not entertain your emotion-laden rant People bring up stuff here that is influenced by Twitter and Facebook all the time, and people can make commentary on it. You can get in your feelings though, I totally understand what discrimination does to people in Nigeria. I just find it funny that there are Northerners that are complaining about representation in Super Eagles. Very funny 1 Like |

TheSuperNerd: Why the discrimination on ighalo? For example, the top scorer at this tournament is Aboubakar and he plays at the same league as ighalo and ighalo is the top scorer. My friend, in the absence of osimehn, I’m more confident with ighalo than sadiq 1 Like |

Mujtahida: Exactly I don't understand why fans think their opinion is so important to what will happen on the pitch Overrating or underrating an opponent is all down to the individual and fans discussions here. It will either raise your hopes or reduce them, either way, na yourself you dey do. It is not the players of the coach you are doing As long as Eguaveon and his team know what they need to do and how they need to do it, our opinions will not matter 2 Likes |

Tunisia despite their situation will do everything within their power to get the better of us but I'm optimistic we have the quality to overcome them. Also pray that the element of luck and good fortune follows us that day. Let's all continue to do our bit of praying and supporting the team. 10 Likes |

Football statistics website Whoscored.com has published the best eleven following the conclusion of the group stage of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, with one Nigeria player, Moses Simon making the cut. Only nine nations have contributed players to the Best XI with Senegal and Ivory Coast leading the way with two each, while Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Morocco, Cameroon and Tunisia have one player each. In a 4-4-2 formation, Simon is deployed as an attacking midfielder with Ivory Coast's Nicolas Pepe (Arsenal), Morocco's Sofiane Boufal (SCO Angers) and Ivory Coast's Ibrahim Sangaré (PSV Eindhoven) completing the midfield four. Kamara (Sierra Leone) starts in goal and the back four contains Bouna Sarr (Senegal), Pape Abou Cisse (Senegal), Mustafa Karshoum (Sudan) and Nouhou Tolo (Cameroon), and the attackers are Vincent Aboubakar (Cameroon) and Wahbi Khazri (Tunisia). Simon is credited with one goal and one assist in three appearances at AFCON 2021, and the Nantes winger was involved in the build up to the goal scored by William Troost-Ekong vs Guinea-Bissau. He was the top rated player against Sudan and Guinea-Bissau, has been successful in 79.6 percent of his passes, averaged 2.3 shots per game and five dribbles per game. |

What is quite funny is that Nigeria's best performing player in this competition has been Moses Daddy Simon, a Northerner, but because his name is not Sadiq or Umar, his people want to die by the one with a name they can relate to, despite doing poorly. Make everybody check their sentiments. It is not good to die by mediocrity because of a relatable name 4 Likes |

Is Sadiq in my top 3 mentions for the CF role? So why make an irrelevant point comparing Ighalo and Sadiq. Osimhen, Awo and Onuachu are the top 3. Is Sadiq there? Look Man, Don't start. Rest with this Ighalo talk. Keep it away from my Mentions aiit. I speak the reality. 12large1: 3 Likes 1 Share |
