Hello,

I’m trying to rent a house in Birmingham, 1 bedroom flat or studio apartment. Rightmove and others have not been helpful. Can anyone help or direct me to how they got theirs. I’m tired of staying in an air bnb

It's soo annoying oo and hope it doesn't backfire in the nearest future. I don't trust UKVI for anything. Meanwhile the true shortage exists in domiciliary care and they are the major ones I see offering sponsorship right now. If you claim you are Lewis Hamilton and drive a car, its sponsorship straight up.
Regarding the courses, NVQ is health care can help but honestly I feel driving skill tips the application in your favour.

God bless you for this. I was telling somebody yesterday that with the look of things, right now someone with a uk driving licence and no care experience will probably get sponsorship sooner than someone that has experience and no driving license.

Those companies are ready to train candidates with full uk driving license and zero or little experience.

Guys o
Someone I know needs advice.

So our uni is giving out funds for those experiencing financial difficulty.
https://www.rgu.ac.uk/study/finance-funding/funding-and-scholarships/4550-coronavirus-fund

He said he wants to apply and I'm not sure what to tell him especially as international students have claimed that we have funds at the time of visa application.

You want to get NVQ level 3 in health and social care. Get a license if you don’t already have one

Which license do you mean here?

Other students in all the listed countries there showed proof of funds as well..... so for me that don't matter. What if my dad business was suddenly wiped out due to covid so he took money from my account. Many changes have happened due to covid

As long as it not classified as public funds and won't impact visa renewal then if the person circumstances is truly impacted by covid.... why not.... I would apply . You snoze you lose

There is nothing wrong in claiming this, the school is being generous.

Drivers license as it seems most of the companies prefer someone that drives

Good afternoon Elders

Do international students pay NI in their 20hrs. My wife received her December pay and they deducted over £150 in her statement as NI. Although she did more than. 20hrs as a result of the holidays. I thought students don't pay taxes

Hello everyone,

Thanks for all the information dropped so far

Please what happens if you get a your visa a week after your IOM expires? Do you need to get a new IOM again?

Case in point, IOM was done for school travel, things came up and you had to delay processing the visa and applied for another type of visa. Now you have that work visa and the IOM that was done earlier just expired.

What do you do? Do you start IOM again?

Also, what’s the first thing to do when you land in thr UK

Something I saw online about a Nigerian nurse who had her licence withdrawn because she did not dial 999 but kept shouting Jesus when a baby under her care was having panic attack

There is not wrong schools have been supporting students during the lockdown. It was very common Sept 2020 and last year as well. International students were encouraged to collect this fund.

We had a meeting with VC through zoom and he said international students should partake in the funds. That's when international students started apply and it did not affect anybody.

So don't be scared apply as long you have all the requirements they need.

Uk schools have been giving out hardship funds since 2020 lockdown. Some gave funds for rent. Some for coronavirus. Some gave both and other funds to students last year as well.

Many universities should do this to help international students struggling

Agreed, De Montfort was one of the few unis that gave a decent amount like twice to thrice. A school like Coventry opened the portal and gave a deadline, only for them to turn around and say No more funds as it is first come first serve, despite still within the deadline application.
My advise, apply ASAP because some schools can be funny

Even when you contact them, you won't get any concrete info after wasting money. They most they will tell you is a decision has been made and urge you to wait for the mail nooni.
