Even if these Nigerian minds come back, where would they fit in? Especially the ones in STEM and medicine. Barth Nnaji, an expert in robotics and mechatronics, came back home and you turned him into a minister for power. When you should have plugged him into applied science and technology training the next generation of Nigerian minds and churning out home grown solutions in Defence and industry, like China is doing. We don't have such advanced specialised agencies to absorb such people. Where will Uchechi Iweala fit in? The First black surgeon in Maryland USA to carry out a robot- assisted spinal surgery.. Are you going to send him to your ill-equipped general hospitals? That would be a waste of talent. Improve the technological and educational base of the country, first. If these highly skilled Nigerians come back right now, we can't utilize them. They are too skilled for the country. 3 Likes |

HarunaWest:I like your courage and is about what I used to tell people about. But at the same time you can't get a better offer and you will not accept it. Let me share a story of Lam adesina who got an offer then to study in UK BUT REJECTED IT. He completed his secondary education in Loyola as the first set and passed all his Cambridge exam then together with the rest of his school mates. They are called 21 boys of Loyola college because the make history. Nigeria was good then when our currency was good Compare to dollar. After that he got admission at UNN and graduated well. But life was not that good for until he became a governor at old age. But God knows best . |

jigo1:And they will take more in the future. They are waiting for the ones in secondary School to graduate from University first. Keep voting for the likes of jagaban. You have the likes of moghalu, that is young, Internationally exposed, and knows how far behind Nigeria is and is intellectually equipped enough to bridge the gap as quickly as he can. But una say na jagaban, an old man with nothing Left to offer. 3 Likes |

Just imagine that the Twitter ban hasn't been lifted. Saw his post on Twitter and within some hours, he got over 40,000 likes. Twitter made his story viral. Instagram or Facebook could never have done this. The funny thing is another guy from the same school posted his story on LinkedIn. He graduated with a CGPA of 4.92 and cleared all his ICAN papers with 11 awards within 3 years. Na congratulations I don see so far 3 Likes |

Do you even know how the British rule in Nigeria began, you sure need to read up deep about the history of Nigeria pre-colonial era. I'm very sure you've heard about this popular saying "it's the rat in the house that opens the door for the rat in the bush to come in to steal food" (or whatever it comes in to steal), my point here is the white men didn't come here with an army to carry slaves, they came with a proposal, they sold this proposal to greedy chiefs and community heads who bought it because they wanted to enrich themselves at the detriment of their tribesmen. This same thing happened in the Niger-delta at the onset of drilling operations there, oil companies released money for the development of their host communities, but greedy, selfish chiefs and community heads siphoned the money for their personal use, can you see the similarity here, same mentality, different century, but same mentality. The white man is an opportunist, so he just took advantage of a situation that would favor his pocket and home country. This same white man took this Same proposal to Korea, Japan, China, and India and they were only allowed to operate within the limits of their trade as long as it didn't infringe on the fundamental rights of their citizens, even when the white men tried to be forceful, they were dealt with appropriately. You keep blaming the white man for the current misfortune This country is facing, you pointed out that the white men still control our affairs covertly, but remember that this won't be possible if we don't have greedy sycophants as leaders. It's high time we stopped feeling sorry for ourselves and desist from blaming the whites for this rickety we call a country, let's look for a way to fix ourselves from the inside, this country will only change when Nigerians start looking out for each other more. HarunaWest:That can never happen when you have something to offer. Secondly, the boy can either decide to stay back and be totally useless to the country and to an extent to himself or move and be very productive to the US first, and to humanity in general. Nigeria is not yet structured to succeed, no until the country has a foundation. Nothing will work. |

HarunaWest:When will African countries, state governor's start giving her people indigenous scholarship? Imagine it was Rwanda offering this or Abia state government. We are just sick in the head and will always export raw materials only to get a fraction of finished products. A scholarship to the US is not an achievement if you ask me but its better of than staying in this shit hole. Nothing but retardation works here. |

HellVictorinho3:I need not debate that further. Thank God the country still has you. You can decide to remain. Funny enough your kinds are only concerned because you haven't gotten the opportunity yet and it looks like many are leaving you behind. I know a pastor who wasn't doing that bad, he believed & ask for prayers for Nigeria. Discouraging people from leaving. He finally fled with his family last year. As for the young boy, he will be encouraged to move and others willing to do so legally. He is obviously an intelligent boy, thus knows what to do. No matter how hopeful & familiar you are of the country. You don't know more than the president, governors, politicians generally. Yet those guys built their based abroad. Imagine a president doing medical tourism, going for relaxation, using foreign education for the kids, etc. You think you should believe in the country more than them. |

MIKOLOWISKA: Don't be a shithead. How do you expect poorly trained graduates to solve technical problems? Guys who make first class in naija are very sound in theories, especially in engineering courses. They need to be trained to be able to have hands-on knowledge, and this is where the country lacks. Moreover, since govt doesn't place much importance on education, syllabuses don't get updated. Last time Nigeria had an overhaul in syllabus was in the 80s and partly in the 90s. Chinese kids less than 12 years will handle technical issues that will befuddle most Nigerian graduates. It is with this poor education you expect your graduates to perform magic, right? |

Senorprinz:not until recently, the Chinese and rest you mentions up there, are just beginning to rise up. however, Africa which is endowed with natural resources than any other continent in the history of mankind will not be allowed to rest cos it is seen as a hunting ground for the white. you said that they only succeeded due to African greed but you forget to note that the likes of oba ovberhawen of benin and the like of Nana of ebrohimi just to mention a few, fouth them and they were exiled...was it the use of mirror and tobacco the the white used in fighting them as you claimed. What about jaja of of opobo during the trade and how the forcefully imprisoned him in overseas. I am not a historian but I can still remembered the few which I was taught in my secondary school days, and if for all you can think of is what they wrote about how our leaders betrayed their people, then you're not being sincere to yourself and humanity at large. when they ended the slave trade, then, they sat comfortably in their land and devided Africa as their conquered land and they introduced colonisation which many of our leaders both here in Africa and the ones who have attained education after the slave trade both in America and Europe fought them and many died in those struggles. After our leaders fought to gain our independence which they surpose to leave Africa entirely but they don't, they still sponsored their spy through neocolonialism and all, coup de tat to any individual who is not in their support.... the French still has their own colony and organizations in Africa, the British has their own such as common wrath which the queen is the head 2,like Nigeria and Ghana etc,the Portuguese is not left out,the Germans, Belgium, what about the Americans which not until 1994 during the apartheid that south Africa is free and lager percentage of their lands is still in the white.... what about the Almighty China that has just recently taken Hong Kong from the British?...Africa has never been at rest from one trouble to another and the the white will always come to our rescue which is always in their best interest. what do you think will happen if you put the best of individuals in an environment?...you can answer that. Nigeria has always been an environment which is never comfortable for our best, thanks to the outside forces who had made sure Africa died of a perpetual servitude so that they can succeed in their land. Why is it that the black man country is always backward?,is it that all the African leaders at time were greedy?... |
