Please seniors in the house @makano @frankrobbin @keitiema, I have applied to UoManitoba for september intake and I am expecting a positive response by God's grace. I am getting married in May and will like to go with my husband. Please is it possible to do this? Do I wait till after the wedding to start visa processing? Thanks in advance

Hello Goshen22,

As you know, many have applied with spouse and family and gotten approval and some have applied and got refused. It's all about grace.

But then, we don't encourage applicants to put themselves in tight corner knowing fully well that coming from Nigeria alone, the VO's feel they applicants wants to Japa. That being said, when applying for study permit, the VO's even though they know that likely some students may not return, but they want you to show that you have ties to your home country that will warrant you coming back after your studies. And among those ties is FAMILY TIES. So I will advise that you use him or her as your family ties back home, then apply for SOWP or visiting Visa upon approval of your study permit. But then, if you feel you can convincingly convince the VO as to why you're going with spouse, then give it a trial. Grace differs.

All the best

I don’t know why our gurus don’t address this, people kip posting their phone number UpnDown, this is a faceless forum for cried out loud……….and to you @JIOKE1994 you cause all this, you said you got your PPR with the help of this forum BUT why all of sudden you became VO/Agent by creating a whatsapp group so you can add pple and teach them how to apply, now pple kept posting their phone number…….

Is really sad, came online I saw phone numbers flying up and down and I thought nairaland is dashing free MB.

I must say it, Is so unfortunate that of recent newbies and silent readers have started turning this beautiful platform upside down. Derailing from the principles the pioneers instituted that made this platform informative and educative.

I don't blame the gurus (frankrobnn, justmellow, Lekiboboe, makano, Spectro, Liann20 to name but a few), they must have noticed all this and don't regularly come as they do before now ( though my observation). I still give it to Lianna20, makano and my able Google Lekiboboe, who are still doing their wonders here. Of recent, makano stoped giving free application assistance cos of this singular attitude. Sorry makano, when you decided to not do it free, I silently didn't support of it as I felt is better to give out free. But I'm so sorry to have not supported it, now I see better. This set no deserve am walahi.

Just look at someone who just got PPR and is now forming guru and is dragging peeps to his group to teach them what he learnt here oo. And what even amazed me is that he said he got the info to support his application from here and people still are sending numbers to him when they could have still gotten the infos from here as well.

Is obvious Nigerians don't like to get things free. They prefer when they are charged. No wonder agents are messing them up here and there.

Good day all. I am new here

Pls for someone that got admission for a 2 year program, tuition per annum is 18,000CAD, which has been paid fully (for first year), how much should the sponsor have in his account when submitting his bank statement

Secondly, when can the sponsor start withdrawing from his account after submitting the statement of account before the visa is processed. Thank you

Hello shogbenga,

As you have paid your full year tuition, you need to have living expenses and ancillary fees in your account plus show the VO how you intend to pay for the next year Tuition and living expenses.

For the bolded above, permit me to laugh small lol. There is no timeframe to start withdrawing money as the money is expected to be for studies. So please to avoid withdrawing the money and tomorrow the VO requests for updated account statement, the best time to withdraw the money is after visa approval.

Hello Goshen

The bolded depends on you though, many applicants have done family application and few got approved, why many got refused.. One thing to know about Study permit application is that it is a Temporary Resident Visa i.e you are expected to come back after the duration of your Visa.. Now going with your family for a temporary Visa shows you guys have the plan to Japa and not return, this is the reason why the Visa OFFICER often refuses Family application for a study permit application.. But like I said earlier, few have gotten approval for their family application and this is because they were really able to convincingly explain to the Visa officer the reason for the family application..

So if you know you don't have strong and convincing reasons for your husband going with you, I will advise you do what most married applicants do i.e applying alone, and using the spouse and Kids as home ties, and when you get to Canada, you will apply for a spousal permit for your spouse and visiting permit for the Kids..

Many married peeps use this method, and we have experienced more approvals with this compared to a family application..

I don't understand the new trend here. At first, i thought the whatsapp BS was for students who already have their ppr and bought tickets. So that they can connect to avoid boredom when they get there. Not until i started seeing "i applied myself the second time", "we will teach you how to apply"

Abi, how can you be so self-centered. How many months you don use gather info dey tell people say you fit teach them?

We can do better.

Hello KennyJoy

To the bolded, this is something I have been speaking against but since peeps refuse to listen, I stopped it.. Cos I am just a knowlegable person here and I dont have the right to tell peeps how to live their life here cos I am not the creator of this thread..

I remember some months back, one moniker here(wont mention the person) actually came on my mail and started bad washing me by saying I am a selfish idiot, bla bla bla. That the reason I always speak against whatsapp group for study permit application is cos I dnt wanna lose customers grin grin, that they also need their customers and so on.. In my mind I was like this person should be under 18 with her way of reasoning, and I decided not to reply her... So that is why I have been quiet about it.. For the peeps that know me, I have been speaking agaisnt this whatsapp group of a thing, except the whatsapp group for students going to the same school though..

This particualar moniker @JIOKE1994 got his/her Visa and the next thing to do is to create a whatsapp group.. Please I wanna ask a question, if everybody had created whatsapp group and the gurus are actually in this whatsapp group and not active on this thread, how would you have gotten your Visa cos Like you said, you got all the information you needed for your Visa here.. So now you have gotten your Visa, the next thing to do is to create whatsapp group for the same purpose of this thread, no wonder we do not really see detailed approval timelines on this thread again..

Lekiboboe, and many others that are already in Canada, did you see them opening a whatsapp group? U still see Lekiboebo contributing here despite being knowledgeable and also in Canada.. Common Visa you just collect, you are not even in Canada yet, you have opened whatsapp group.. If Frank, Myself or Justmellow and other experienced peeps had opened Whatsapp group, you think this thread wouldn't have "died" since?

That is how one moniker from this thread sent me a WhatsApp message that she will love for me to be in their WhatsApp group, after discovering that the purpose of the group is same with this thread, I declined and told her that she should tell her fellow group members to come back to this thread so it will still be in existence...

Truth be told, all these whatsapp groups for the same purpose of this thread is indirectly killing this great thread.. Let us all pour in our questions, contributions as regards Canada study application here, it helps the community here, not just the newbies but also the GURUS..

Peace

Hello Ketima

First, I wanna commend you for the good Job you doing here, you are being noticed Sir/ma.. God bless you..

To the bolded, When we started on this thread in 2016/2017 Myself, frank and Mcovex, Qudnom, Ralfudoh and some other Old gurus, we were joyfully giving advises for free without even thinking of turning it as an income.. Like I was Jokingly discussing with Frank some days back, that there was a time we didn't even think of making money from this, but because many applicants have really taken our voluntary work for granted in the past, we just had to switch so it wont look like we actually wasting our time doing good here.. Now Frank and Justmellow are fully in the business, and I am partially in the business cos I have my own Job (I am a Computer programmer)..

Personally I cant count the number of applicants I have helped getting their Visas for free in the past 3 years, and when they get to Canada, gbam, they cut communication with you, not all though.. I remember one moniker, I saw her status during the Winter 2020 and Jokingly repleid her status that she is really enjoying Canada slow oo, her reply was "Brb".. Since 2020 till now, she isnt back yet..

And this was someone I spent the whole night after coming back from work, working on her SOP and LOE.. I remember sleeping 3am that day cos she was to submit that same day, but she is now a big gurl in Canada, so we aint relevant to her again, at least she has gotten what sh e wanted.. If I had collected professional fee, I would not have felt so bad about it..

That is why I make it clear now, I will continue giving my professional advise on the thread here for free, but once you message my gmail account Makanoglobalservcies@gmail.com or you send me a DM, be ready to pay for my service cos I will actually create time for you out of my busy schedule cos of the nature of my Job..

The truth is that we Humans, we do not value what we get for free, we actually value what we pay for.. At least when you pay for the services of the Gurus here, your mind is at rest compared to those agents outside.. And please note, many applicants have been calling me agent, I am not an agent please, I am just priviledge to be one of the Knowlegable peeps here.. So please no one should call me an agent when u come ot my DM, that name is already soiled and I dont wanna be a part of that name cos I am transparent in my dealings with people..

Good day all
I sent a mail to IOM two weeks ago to book for an upfront medicals for late February, 4 days after, they asked for my name, preferred date, visa type and to send the data of my passport. I did that immediately and since then they haven't replied to the details I sent to them, I also sent a mail on Wednesday to let them know they haven't responded to the details I sent to them, they still haven't sent anything. No valid month of validity of passport to have for PPR. But note that your passport can't be stamped a counterfoil beyond the expiration of your passport. As such that's why one needs to have his/her passport validity way above the duration of his/her studies.

For eg, if the validity of your passport is just 3 months and you used it to apply for visa without submitting a renewed one with longer validity, even if your study is 2yrs or more, the counterfoil on your passport will just have 3 months validity. But in some case, the IRCC sends msg for updated passport so that the fault won't be from them.

So it is adviced that once the validity of your passport is just a year and below and your course is more than one year, Kindly renew and submit to them via webform and email before sending passport for stamping.

Hello shogbenga,

Please who is your sposnor? But nevertheless, even if your sponsor is/are your parents, the will need to show that the have enough money to pay for your 2nd Tuition+10,000 living expenses and also prove that they have enough to care for your other siblings. Same goes to third party sponsor, he must prove that the money he/set aside for your studies won't be the same money he/she will use in taking care of his/her children.

So in summary, depending on your Tuition, Sponsor needs to show enough fund for the 2nd year. That's tuition fee(for 2nd year) +10,000 living expenses. So calculate your tuition plus living expenses and convert it to naira.
