Baba the attention on him is too much
He has not really played to my expectations

So I just move on to Taiwo that have woow me and even Yinka that I so much know his potentials

Sadiq was some one I expect much from but with what I have seen will so angry if Taiwo is benched for him.... I know how sentiments have gone thrive in Nigeri a political and other sectors lately so it will be disastrous if same happens in sports

I am just assuming though and same time scared

You are sounding ridiculous.. Why will Eguavon bench Awoniyi for Sadiq? If Eguavon plan was to push Sadiq into the team, he would have started him ahead of Awo from day 1.
Calm down...All this your theory doesn't make sense.. Eguavon is just trying to motivate Sadiq, like a serious coach would.. Or would you prefer him going to the media and telling them that Sadiq isn't a serious player or isn't good enough like Rohr was doing when he was in charge?

what do you mean? If he’s a southerner would you even say this? You are an ethnic jingoist, just admit it . you are the same person always championing the ‘Shehu in the eagles because he’s a northerner’ agenda.
So you mean as a coach he’s not supposed to fire up an underperforming player? You can’t even hide your ethnic agenda. Mtcheew

Sadiq is an okay striker

Stop expecting lewandowski performance from him

There is nothing political about sadiq place in the team

Try to Dey stay one place ,he is better than onuachu and deserves to be in the team ,now he is in the team you are relating it to political backing

Baba can you please listen to yourself ?

He can be in the team but not start ahead of Taiwo. Sure will rather play a false 9 over him and Onauchu and if asked to start one will start Sadiq after much prayer to mother luck

We are better than the Ghanaians, both on paper, man to man, and collectively as a Team.

Their captain, Andre Ayew will even be missing due to the Red card he collected against the Comoros.

Yes, I know they will come out fighting but I trust Eguavoen, who understands the rivalry between the two teams, to fire the boys up. If the Ghanaian players are ready to die on the pitch, our boys should be ready to bury them.
But I don't understand how Ayew's red card collected during Afcon tourney can affect a WCQ match. Like if a player receives a red in UCL it would now affect him in a match in the premiership?

Like seriously Na agenda you Dey find against sadiq

Onuachu is a good player and if he was fit he would have start at this afcon and there is nothing you can do about that

Onuachu will come back to the team and maybe you can continue from where you stop .

Let's hope he is trying to motivate him
Maybe I was too fast with my assumptions

I have no issues with a player been a northerner or a southerner as long as he kicks the fibre round the pitch well I am okay and fine with it

Why is the coach keen on playing him

Every time we hear Equeavon talk about him, how he didn't play to instructions bla bla

Is it a must he plays him if he does not fit play other players that fit in. The scenario is playing out like the coach is hell bent on playing him

First, you need to realize that if you knew better you'll be the coach of the Eagles and not Eguavon. Sometimes we need to at least give the coach some credit that he knows what he's doing. A coach sees beyond what's on the field of play, he is probably privy to the potential that the boy carries and maybe also aware to what's keeping Sadiq from maximizing his potential. That said, Eguavon is not fixated on Sadiq and doesn't always talk about him, you only hear of him repeatedly cause the press keeps questioning him about the guy

UCL and premiership don't run under the same bodies na...

Normally, cards accumulated under a competition would be carried over to another competition organised by the same body..for instance, if a player is red carded in a premier league game and his team has a league or FA cup game the following week, he would serve part of his suspension in that game...

In 2006, Taiye Taiwo thunder strike was the difference, In 2008, we matched them man for man in all departments but lost with a single goal margin.

No matter how poor or limp the SEs can be, when it's time to face these countries, expect nothing but the best from them.

Argentina
Ghana
Cameroon

If you want to see the best of Eagles, pair them against the above national team and these countries knows this and come prepared.

I am in no way writing off our chances, mine is this, its a 50/50 duel. It could go either way. Banking on our current form and their recent woes and thinking it's going to be a walk in the park for us could be our undoing. Approaching the two legged WCQ games with the right mindset is key to our qualification.
Unlike before, there is a significant difference in talent now. All those rivalry shit, simply means they would give their all. We won't thrash them, but there's no way Ghana is beating Nigeria in two months time. that's a big fact.

The difference in quality can never permit them to slip a win inside two legs. This is not a single match knockout.

I am football fan and not a coach and the fact that Equeavon knows better does not mean he can't or won't make mistakes. Sometimes u dont know the Presure he is been subjected to.

Think maybe your second paragraph or point better explained the talk round Sadiq.

Well I wish him well.

Chukwueze, Iwobi or Ejuke, I hope whichever of them start on that right wing will bring their A game today... The Tunisians will most likely be focused on Simon, giving the other wing a chance to wreck havoc...

Ohhh Jeeez. Please go online and watch Eguavoen's pre-match presser and listen to Eguavoen answer question in relation to Sadiq. Eguavoen is just trying to encourage the young man. Haaba habaaa.
Listen also to his explanations about Ndah. In fact for Ndah he even mentioned a politician's name Honorable Boma Iyayi recommended Olisa Ndah to him two years ago. Is that enough for me to now say Olisa Ndah has political back up? No!
That's the link to the presser.

Ghana is like Arsenal and Tottenham although Arsenal may have the upper hand , anything could happen.

Ghana will never be easy to beat we must come highly prepared. Ghana at the moment is a wounded Lion, very dangerous.

They will have Salisu in defence, yesterday he was not just outstanding but AMAZING against Manchester city yesterday.

Salisu is a defender, not a striker.

We have osimhen that faces Chellini, Bonucci, Skriniar, De Ligt and even Koulibaly( in training)

We have Dennis that held his own against Van Dijk, Rudiger, Maguire etc

We have Awonyini painting Bundesliga red with goals.

How many salisu wan mark?

Abi salisu bigger than the defenders I mentioned?

Our defence has been solid. They neutralized Africa's best and one of the best in the world. Turned Mo Salah to Ofe Nsala.

Try dey calm down with the Salisu agenda, the young man even rejected Ghana. Even if he decides to play for the for the qualifiers them go still collect wotowoto

I'm surprised at him alluding to some phantom political backing for Sadiq. If he had queried Eguavoen's encouraging the guy without mentioning politics, it would have been a fair comment in the light of Sadiq's unconvincing performance. But to bring in politics is outrageous. Anyway I've posted the video of the presser.

So a coach should not hold talks with a player in areas he feels he should improve?

So you prefer he leaves him out of the squad in this AFCON without any contribution to the team till the end?

Not everything is a political agenda please.

We shouldn't be hyped about Salisu if he decides to play for Ghana. I would be worried if they get Tariq Lamptey, Hudson Odoi, Eddie Nketia and Afenya Gyan. These four can help them push the Eagles, absolute game changers but they will really struggle to win because they would be playing for the first time.
The apparent Lack of cohesion against Nigeria who have been playing together for 4yrs. Infact, Ghana stand no chance, they should focus and build for the future which can be exciting if they get it right.

Where did you learn of this? Why are you making a baseless assumption? Salisu wey never play since, is who they will have in defence. Somebody that could not be bothered with AFCON will now come and collect L in World Cup Qualifiers?

If the Salisu is as good as you claim, and we are to follow his pattern, then, he will most likely only feature for Ghana if they qualify for the World Cup.

And I would also like you to stop overhyping this guy. A defence is made of 4 people, nothing concern us with the Salisu, only him cannot stop all our strikers, so, stop overrating him

The renaissance of the Yoruba language has been helped in no small measure by Yoruba movie channels and Naija Afro Pop artists.

It's increasingly getting acceptable for young hip people to be versed in the language.

If we should be worried about those players then they should be worried about Jordan Torunarigha, Eze, Oliseh. Tella. You get the point right?

What do you think is the probability of those players being in the GH squad in two months time for a match they're not certain of winning, potentially miss the world cup and block their chances with ENG. Those guys are rather going to wait and see if Ghana beats Nigeria then show interest if they will. Even if they do declare today, Who will clear them under two months?

I'm sure people like Hudson Odoi are still trying to see if they can get to the World Cup with ENG. That one is just taking Ghana for a ride. The way they'll hate him if he eventually plays for England eh.

Humility bro you disappointed me with this your post o. It's now a sin for a coach to ginger a player?

Eguavoen in interviews before the AFCON already said he will talk to his players from time to time so where's this agenda popping it's head from?

Even the yeye journalist shouting ''close door meeting'' didn't a photo journalist already post a picture of Augustine talking to Umar so why all the unnecessary conspiracy theory?

Gameday: Super Eagles vs Carthage Eagles.

Today we roast some Eagles of phoenician flavour. smiley

We are tied with them on head-to-head records but today, we take the lead.

Awoniyi to score. Aribo to try hit the target as well. Ndidi to dominate the middle. The "OmeKong" Wall to stand its ground and cover grounds. The Zaidu-Aina FB combo to run the flanks. The SeniorMan to bring the Magic in goals, assists and more. Chukwueze to finally bring his A-game coz we are yet to see his best at this tournament. Simon will be closely watched but I hope, not kept quiet... he carries magic as well... Wickedly Sweet Magic. Okoye to keep calm and composed behind the reliable and powerful "OmeKong" wall.

I don't know the first XI for today but above is the XI that first planted the seed of hope and confidence that Nigerian fans feed on today. So much that even the mention of Ghana in the WC draws yesterday is a cause for laughter and smiles. because we know what this team is "truly about" plus "the flavors/spice" that will be added on top of this Champions-in-waiting TEAM of Warriors.

Ladies and Gentlemen, WE HAVE A TEAM. A TEAM UNITED BY THE POWER OF FAMILY MENTALITY. A Team wired with the will to never stop until the task is done!!!

This is the day THIS TEAM take another step forward into the Quarters. Another step towards Glory. Another step towards what will mark indeed the true birth of this new era.
An era that has been pregnant for far too long but will soon give birth to its first moments of Golden Glory.

We are in a moment of history that will be remembered and right now, right here... today, the lads will ensure this story will not be missed out on in years to come.

Tunisia falls today, like all the others. Na we dey here!!! Let's SOAR, let's Trample, Let's Fly, Super Eagles!!!
