Well - I like Nigeria ostentatious roofing - but those big houses on tiny plots - without any privacy ,without trees, flowers, etc will NOT and cannot pass for Kenya upper class estates - that again starts in Garden/Thome - all the way to Karen.

Another thing I noticed in nigeria architecture is the almost absent of wood on the outside - look like concrete is everything - in Kenya - we prefer natural stones for finishing, some wood, and basically a house is suppose to blend into the enviroment - to appear almost like it's grew naturally - like a tree - not look dominant and overbearing.

Kenya vibe is a little different - the more upper class - the more it's integrate seamless with nature.

I think kenya tend to do European or British style - but Nigeria is more American (more Big Texas houses).

For kenyans wealth is supposed to be subtle - not screaming - but in Nigeria like in America - it's ostentatious

The central africa and part of west africa has french architecture. You see Eritrea and somali and ethiopia with Italians influence.

Nigeria because it wasn't really a colony but protectorate didn't get British influence and after fall of European powers in world war two they connected more with America.Kenya upper class is certainly a microsm of British upper class.Unlike most colonies Kenya settlers were mostly the British uppity who loved animals and nature..and had no insecurities so didn't feel the need to prove themselves like American low class.As Kenyans became rich they basically adopted the British uppity...the love of nature, animals, dirty jeans,four wheel adventures and of course being indiscrete..to be rich therefore means hiding yourself under the trees literally..it mean to be exclusive while being in touch with nature
