the only thing he could have done was to not let Awoniyi start the 2nd half..

he can't read the referee giving a red card.. not checking VAR for penalty..

I disagree. Iheanacho ought to have come out before the second half commenced because he couldn’t link with the attackers due to Tunisia’s overwhelming control of the midfield and he couldn’t no longer press due to the yellow card he had.

The coach messed up. He ought to have read the game and quickly made tactically changes but no....bros was rigid.

How long do we keep building?

How long has Eguavoen had? Remember the lads were engaged few days to the tournament. Hope you do not think that is sufficient for a team that has played conservative football for over four years.

Ihenacho assisted him for his 1st goal..

That’s true but he played badly in that game compared with today’s game.

The red card gave Tunisians the win...

Maybe you guys need to watch again, Nigeria did most the playing, miss clear scoring chances, goal keeping error gave them the win, Nigeria kept pressing with 10 men, that sheer will and tenacity was beautiful to watch...

Nigeria did not loose we were poor, ill luck, but the team will grow in character from this...

I do not think Iheanacho and Awoniyi were that poor. I think he pulled them out for more pace. I thought Iheanacho was working hard, dropping deep and moving the ball.

What has reading of game got to do with how long he is with the team?

Tuchel came in an won UEFA Champions league.

Another excuse?

When you guys make statements like this, I find it shocking because you are not proposing one thing.

If there is anything Eguavoen showed was tactical saviness.

After the goal, he switched tactics and went for a press, which started fine until the red card.

After the red card, he switched to a direct long ball strategy by bringing in Sadiq and it worked but we did not take our chances.

What else should a manager do?

Thank you. Abeg the players fcked up today. Eguavoen did all he could to get them playing, to no avail.

Maybe they were fcking girls the previous night.

In fact I'm pretty sure they were. They lacked energy big time.

Exactly, that is the summary of what happened. I was proud of them. Unfortunately, most people just wait for results but football has dynamics to it.

The team is up to something and I hope Pinnick does not go destroying it.

Proud of the guys and the technical team. There was nothing else they could do.

The same Mourinho that has been spanked up and down.

That his philosophy is outdated. He even knows. Guardiola has won the English Premier League three times while enjoying himself.
The Mourinho of 2005.

That was his job but as soon as he got booked, he couldn’t do much of that again because he had to be cautious hence the need to replace him immediately before they score.

I do not know if sleeping with girls means not taking their chances. However, I always look at the effort and I think those guys gave their all.

Baba, nothing he tried worked!!!

Tunisia's game plan was obvious to the untrained eye right from the first minute, and what was Eguaveon's answer?

See, player to player, the Tunisians are inferior to us so the only difference tonight was the input of the coaches.

Just watch as the Tunisians will be demystified in their next match.

The Mourinho of 2005.

That is what I am saying. When Mourinho was deceiving the world with his negative football. Making it seem he had the holy grail. I hated those talks that time because I knew he was wrong.

Thank you

The importance of that first goal cannot be understated. After that, you're basically chasing the match, and then the Red came and that was that

Like I always say, the psychological effect of some things must be considered. No be just "pass ball, pass ball"

That was going against a compact defense that was pressing him. Still did not stop Iheanacho making some tidy passes, runs etc.

Sleeping with girls means staying up all night and being jaded before the game the next day. That was why they lost their zip and energy compared to how they were against Egypt, when they were first onto the ball in every instance.

I'm sorry, but Eguaveon to go!

I hate to see it when a coach has no plan B at all, just looked so clueless when his initial plan was not working.

Even me that knows nothing about football tactic saw it that the moment Simon is caged, we may be rendered ineffective. I mentioned this yesterday.

A tactically savvy coach should be able to come up with something when ur initial plan does not work.

Plus , he is too predictable sef.

And to think this man was a student of westerhoof.

Total disappointment.

You're in your feelings.

Eguavoen has to stay. He'll learn from this and will get better.

Meanwhile, there's nothing wrong in making substitutions in the first half.

It only means you are adapting to counter the tactics of the opposition having seen how they set up to play.

Eguavoen should have shored up the midfield right from the 1st half.
