Lagos is one of the most populated places in Nigeria. Alot of Nigerians congregate there.

Well as of yet, nigerians aren't recognized as asylum seekers.

Lagos is just one state out of 36 other states. Lagos is the most populated, yes but it's just a state with big economy unlike other states.
Even Benin-republic and Cotonue recognized Nigerians as asylum seekers, e come be the world.

Talk about health care, education, security, social infrastructure, convenience and the list goes on.

A Nigerian millionaire is someone with an SUV, generator, a house and probably a swimming pool in his compound. He still struggle for basics like water, power, security and electricity. This are just regular norms a low paying job will give you in the USA.
You have no clue, the worst thing you can experience is working a low wage job abroad. Keep talking about electricity like people don't have access to 24hrs electricity in Nigeria, after enjoying 24hrs electricity abroad then after that what next?

When you finally find yourself there, I'm sure that you will understand what they're telling you better. Happy Canada travelling, lol

So why are all the people in Canada not coming back to Nigeria where the weather is better and life is better?

If it's so bad, why are they still bent on staying there?

Before you travelled were you not also discouraged with the cold, hard life, etc. Why did you still go?

I have listed for you earlier. Security, education, healthcare, social welfare and limitless opportunities.

People who have access to all this is what you call millionaires in Nigeria

You completely missed my comment. I'm talking about the west not nigeria. Maybe you should read my comment again.

Then again, in the west even a homeless person has access to those things cheesy

Who's feeding you guys and ladies all these crap? Even after you used the word HOMELESS! How does someone who doesn't have a shelter above his head have access to electricity, water, health care?

Winter get levels ohhhh, you cant compare American Winter to Russian or Canadian Winter. U wan die
As a guy who spent 8 years in Moscow. I can tell you even white ppl no like cold winter.
Forget all that hollywood movie hype about snow. That shit is very dangerous.

Go to your deep freezer, the temperature of deep freezer is -1 oC
And it blocks anything within few minutes.
Try and put your hands inside deep freezer for 1 minute

Now imagine Russia, Canada, Georgia average winter is -14 oC. You are literally walking on ice blocks. The floor is slippery. People dey fall down.
The highest i saw was - 40oC
School, roads, everywhere close.

You will see dead frozen bodies of homeless people without shelter at some areas.
Going outside at -17 oC
You must wear at least 2 sweaters togeyher with your winter jacket.
your fingers begin to block like ice within 1 minute of exposure outside.
Your ears begin to block and its painful
Frostbite hmmmm.
Honestly prefer extreme heat than extteme cold.
Infact if you want to die under 2 mins.
Go outside with only boxers during -17 oC winter. Instant death.

I swear if 100 nigerians enter europe during winter. 80 of them will come back to Nigeria.
Winter no be your mate

Their is a reason why White ppl rush to Sun bath in the beaches.
They envy us for our Sun.
Africa is blessed with no winter and natural disasters, na bad leaders spoil am .

Nigerians that travel to Libya just so they can sneak into the same Europe?

Talk another thing abeg. undecided

Not everybody is trapped abroad. And it's not for anybody to discourage people from going. The people that are complaining over there, are they on their way back.

Forget all the "I don't want to come back empty-handed". Life is better abroad. Things work. You pay for light and it is constant. In Nigeria, you pay for light and still buy fuel for generator. Or is it the bad roads or terrible education sector?

Cold or no cold, the quality of life is better abroad.

That's what they I'm saying. It's the older ones. They are trapped there because they keep complaining, yet aren't unable to leave because of other commitments as I said.

Old Nigerians abroad do not like it there, trust me. Alot of them have commitments, keeping them there.

In Nigeria cold won't affect their health and they can relax because a young girl can be serving their meals, cleaning their house and washing their clothes. In the west, that's illegal and only the super rich have maids.

In Nigeria you are seen as the next thing to God because you're old.
In the west, a kid can tell you to shut up and you can't touch them.

Yes we can all agree the quality of life is better. That's not the point.

But for older Nigerians, they prefer Nigeria because of the treatment they get. But yes I do know some old ppl prefer the west.

Right here in Lagos middle class Nigerians not even millionaires have access to estates with 24 hr electricity and running water with high speed internet and wifi. A friend just finished his mansion in Lekki with 24hrs solar powered electricity, how can someone working a degrading low wage job abroad better than him.

I think a lot of them acclimatize. This same Canada that people are screaming about. My very close friend stays there in Ottawa. Her mum used to visit till the woman has refused to come back. Her siblings too moves and settled down in Ottawa.

I've never heard her say her mum wants to come back because of cold.

Another big aunt of mine abandoned her husband and moved to the UK. Cold has not sent her back for years. If it's that detrimental to their health, they would come back. Besides, there are old people from those regions who are still alive.

Also, you should know that Nigerians are very adaptable and tend to fall in line.

Mainly the ones born there acclimate. If someone left Nigeria at an older age, they can't get used to a foreign environment like that if they're already set in their ways.

. I understand what you mean. 2 days ago I was at work, with the cold and crazy Job. I thought to myself, If I had a good Job in Naija nothing will make me come and stress myself like this in the name of hustle. I'm quite new though, I believe with time I'll get to enjoy the good sides too. Right now, the beautiful environment and 24/7 Light mean nothing to me anymore. The hustle is draining.

My two Nigerian female neighbors keep on complaining. Every single time they're in a conversation, it's about how they're tired, how they want to go back... Etc. But for their children they can't do that. Infact that's almost all what they talk about Everytime.

So I understand those who said it's not all rosy abroad. I also understand those who are really striving to travel out. Sometimes I feel Nigeria is better, the cruise, friends, fun, sun, etc. But then I remember Police, bribery and corruption (I hate this with passion) the joblessness, etc. Then I'll reconsider.

Thing is nowhere has it all.

You underestimate these people or you just use some to judge all. The mum lived in Lagos all her life. In fact she was a teacher in one of the state schools till she retired. She's about late 60s now.

She works sometimes. She used to go and visit but now, she hardly comes back.

Those ones that complain can't stand the cold, yet they stay because ALL of them are trapped, ALL! They know what life is like in Nigeria. Forget cold.

The cold has not killed them. If they are dying because of it, the trap will release itself.

Electricity neither is my problem but water is, good road is and housing is.
In Enugu water is causing it citizen nightmares, 500gallons of water is 8k yet the state is surrounded with countless rivers and waterfalls where can be converted to treatment areas and distributed to street and houses. Our government is just not bothered.

What about housing, a 2bedroom flat for rent here goes for 600-700k with tarred access road & my landlord is threatening to increasing the rent next year. For those who ventured into buying houses, imagine paying a 3bedroom bungalow 3million naira a year to pay off 30million naira spread across 10yrs for a house that doesn't even worth 4million to construct and you are telling me life is better here than there?
The electricity tariff is just getting unnecessary high quarterly, 1k use to get 17 units before now all of a sudden it can only get us 12 units. Even with your money, you dare not live in luxury off their tariffs unless you option for solar installation which in turn costly but better of. My brother our economy and government policy is a big challenge to every average Nigerian, stop painting it white

Years ago that's how my brother's friend who was living there with his family there broke down one day while was driving to work.

He was crying in his car out of frustration. His MIL had passed on around that time. Instead of just going back to attend the burial, they packed all their load back to Nigeria.

He eventually moved to Canada and is doing bettrr
