The Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Sir, Hon. Daniel E. O. Daniel (JP) has thrown his weight behind the Ongoing war against Soot in Rivers State .

Mr Chairman who declared that his administration will not condone activities of Artisanal Crude Oil refineries in Abua/Odual, says he will demolish all illegal oil bunkering refining sites in the LGA, as directed by the State Governor .

Speaking after Visiting one of the uncovered Artisanal Illegal Crude Oil bunkering site in Odau Community, the Chairman commended the efforts of the state Governor , His Excellency Chief, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, GSSRS, POS (Africa) for his relentless pursuit towards bringing to an end the menace called Soot, which is threatening the very existence of the people in Rivers State . He added that the practical steps taken by the Governor within the last few weeks is yielding result .

Sir Daniel ceased the opportunity to caution those who play politics with the fight against Soot in the State to desist forthwith . He further added that, it is not proper to politicize this all important issue which is causing harm to the environment and killing our people slowly .

Mr Chairman called on all indigenes and residents in ABUA/ODUAL LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA to join forces to nip in the bud the danger posed by the Soot .

The ABOLGA Chief Executive finally opined that anyone with useful information about Locations and Names of Bush where any illegal Oil bunkering refining activities are taking place within the Local Government should report with immediate effect , to him or the DPO of the Abua/Odual Divisional Police Command and necessary actions will be taken .

He disclosed that as the Chairman of Council, he has knowledge of all forests/Communities in the LGA and that his administration will leave no stone unturned in implementing the directives of the State Governor to the letter .

The site visited in Odau Community has over 15 Boiling point and occupies an estimated geographical Area of over one hectare of Land . It is bounded with Communities from Ahoada West LGA of Rivers State and Communities from Ogbia LGA in Bayelsa state .

Accompanied by the Chairman is the DPO of the Divisional Police Command and his men , the C4i LGA Commander and his team of gallant men .

Others are the Chief of Staff to the Chairman , Hon. Okpokipoiy Peters, Supervisor for Environment Hon Vincent Reuben Obu and his works counterpart Hon . Zinami Fyneroad Iwariso. Special adviser on Interparty affairs to the Executive Chairman, Hon. Alex Walters who is an indigene of the Odau Community amongst others .

There is so much lawless in Nigeria.

Pipeline vandals and crude oil thelf have become the daily habits of so many southern youth that pipelines passes through their community especially in the oil rich Niger delta region.

But the greedy politicians at the federal, state and local government are partly responsible for the social vices that is carried out by mostly youth.

The political class have stolen the inheritance of the youth.

Right step in the right direction but the momentum must not stop. They should equally take it over to companies to start educating their suppliers against buying kpo fire diesel.

This is a lie. We all know that this is happening in almost every LGA, though worse in the creeks.

This is commendable. At least, there's a growing pressure on the culprits of this environmental pollution.

I am just wondering why he posed for a picture wearing white trainers to a place where black soot is produced and you want people to take you serious that you're there for serious business. Looks like show off with those white trainers and over dressing for a photo op that screams " don't take me serious!".

He should check out how HE Fashola dressed up for a working visit in the picture below and learn that pictures say a thousand words.
