I have been watching this argument go on and on.

The fact is simple. Eguavoen came up against a team that showed clearly from the early seconds of the game that they knew, understood, practiced, and could counter the game plan he would implement. He didn't need to have wholesale changes in the squad, he didn't even need a single substitution. All he needed was a tactical tweak that would catch the Tunisians off guard. Any of these tweaks may have worked:

1.) Have fullbacks overlap, Ndidi sits along with Ekong and Omeruo for counters while everyone else bombs forward. Our fullbacks are fast enough to repel dangerous counters as long as Ndidi and co. can close up space (which they failed to do for the goal).

2.) Have Simon and Chuks switch wings for 5 - 10 mins, see how the Tunisians react.

3.) Have Nacho drop deep to collect balls, bring Aribo closer to him to make one-twos instead of sending long balls to the wings.

One or a combination of any of the above may have disoriented the Tunisians enough to cause problems and maybe score.

You can talk about tactical motifs but the point remains that we were the superior side and created far more chances than the Tunisians. They scored through a Goalkeeper error.

Eguavoen did his job. He made tactical switches that were right.

So the suggestions are preferences.

At your first paragraph, i remember clearly that you once said that Eguavoen is dwelling much on the opponents rather than coming up with his own strategy.

Eguavoen finally came up with a game plan that has Ekong to continue in his routine duties of looping the ball from defense to attack. A game plan that has our inverted wingers playing as midfielders, sending crosses to Texas on a different mission. We adopted the same strategy and personnel so much that our opponents can read us like the back of their hands.

All these for the painstaking research done. The new coach syndrome just made the difference, aside that, our wayward crosses and long balls intensified. Aribo laboured throughout the first half against Tunisia with zero impact, even for the tackles and interceptions he was known for the Tunisians couldn't let him. Please rewatch that first half to prove me wrong.

Yes it took him sleepless nights to get an ouster at the knockout stage. There was nothing eye catching about the way we played. Individual brilliance covered up a lot for us.

This is you just being negative. We were clearly one of the best teams in the group stage. Eguavoen was voted best coach of the group stage.

We played better than the Tunisians. We created far more chances, even with a man down.

He was very sound.

The individual brilliance you now want to claim showed because of the tactical improvement Eguavoen brought.

You guys are being fictitious with your criticisms.

Please to clear some misconception about the scriptures. No creation activity took place in the night. Creation was done in the morning and in the evening. God rested not because of exhaustion but because he has completed his work.

I am not against working at night, but please let it not be a sleepless night. To imply a sleepless night indicated that the matter was somehow puzzling to his mind. His mind kept him awake and gave him away to sleeplessness. His mind was restless and confused. This is a deficiency, and should not be discussed in the public.

As a member of the technical committee, it shouldn't be so difficult for him. He should have a first hand knowledge of the players.

Who and who are even in the list of the 28 man squad, that it was so much a puzzle that his mind couldn't leave him alone. I wish he could come out in the public to say what fabyom has made of the statement.

I said it wasn't good and we have seen it

Guys, sorry to derail this thread a bit.
Bro, what proves do you have that creation activities only took place in the morning and evening? I am just curious.

I can't agree less.

We outplayed the Tunisians even being a man down.
We only laacked two players in that game: a goalie and a striker. Else it would have been a different story today.

All you are typing does not add up because we were by far the better side than Tunisia. If Tunisia was better, then we can sit down to analyze how we would have played better. However, when we created 13 goal attempts, while they created 7, Haba, the coach has done well.

Players that we even wanted off the squad. Moses Simon, I wanted him dropped. We saw how poor Ekong was for Watford. On this thread, people criticized his poor ball-handling skills and how he was poor passing.

I wanted Jamilu off. However, under Eguavoen, he was a masterclass. I could not believe it. Even in our eyes, Sadiq so improved.

Yet, you are trying to deviate the praise and make it individual brilliance.

Sometimes you guys can be shocking.

Moses Simon became Okocha, Ekong became rock defender, aka pass master and you want to make it that it has nothing to do with the coach.

Sorry, fictitious claims.

Eguavoen tried. He did very well. It is unfortunate how the game turned out but we can not deny that he was effective. A harsh red card and a goalkeeper error did the team harshly. Yet, we were still superb.

Not a fan of the naija league ,but why are many people Saying we can’t get good GK from there ?

I guess the Malawian league have better talents than. The npfl

Maduka ,uzoho ,akpeyi ,I no rate anyone ,even the akpeyi I watched at last afcon looked better than Maduka and uzoho grin
I wish we could. But If I remember Nigeria vs Mexico. I relax with what we have now.

Maybe we should try Uzoho against Ghana, so Maduka can fight for the position. I believe he has talent more than Uzoho, but honestly, Uzoho will not easily make that mistake he did.

It is written clearly that Lukman was playing poorly and taken off. How is that a tactical reason.

Leave it, if you do not know.

As an opponent, if you want to defeat the super eagles, just crowd your midfield and allow us to attack from the wings and your chances of winning is High. (Inferior team wise) while superior team can afford to tackle us man v man and win. Was it the same way in the 90’s?? A question to my OG

We created more chances even a man down. We lost because of a keeper error and we did not take our chances.

Well done to Danielnino00 and the entire organizing Committee.

Hopefully, we can commence planning for this year's awards early enough.

Those were markers of time actually. Morning and Evening. It marked a full day. Which is why that sentence kept reoccurring. We have no prove except the one before our eyes in Gen. 1. So instead of thinking it was morning and evening work, we have to believe it was a full day work, marked by those timelines.

It is very clear. The Bible clearly mentioned Day and Night, and went on to include the Evening and the Morning as the Day.

Does not mean it cannot be found outside the league. For me, it can be in or outside the league.

For your information below Okonkwo and Ovie both at Arsenal , Ovie is with the U23 and Okonkwo is now reserve first team goalkeeper.

How good are they, l really cannot say, beyond that to play for Arsenal you will have to have some good level of Quality.

Enyeama had world cup experience before winning the caf champions league with Enyimba. Enyimba won the champions league in 2003 /2004. Enyeama was Nigerian's number 2 in 2002 n kept against England.

The solution to the GK crisis is the npfl, that's where you get them raw and have the national team goalkeeper coach earn his money by developing them. Uzoho and Okoye have very low celine and very limited raw skillset. Both of these guys won't start for midtable Npfl clubs like Lobi Stars and Dakkada let alone Kano Pillars, Rangers and Rivers utd. Ask any league observer.
God bless you....Enyeama joined Enyimba as second choice, discovered in a match after injury to Dele Aiyenugba who was the first choice and from their straight to eagles camp with a day training,he was picked ahead of Ejinde for Kenya friendly and made WC team and was in goal against England....no international exposure even on Africa soil.

If there is any continent that needs a nation league it's Africa, if we can, let's add some top Asian teams, make afcon a 3 year cup...
Else our standard of football will remain poor...

I feel the top teams in Africa are stagnant and have not grown since the growth other 1990's , hence why this minnows are seemingly catching up, big African teams should be thrashing some particular nations, but we see 1-0 score lines every where, bring a European team to play those minors now, you will a thorough thrashing by them just playing basic tactics of passing and movement...

Please African federation should get world class tactician with good backroom staffs at every level from under 17 - to the senior team..

It's embarrassing some scenes in this afcon, especially the refereeing, very appalling, like is our football a joke to caf?

Last Afcon i think, Uganda had a stunner from long range, accurate and breathtaking.

Now, this time, its Malawi that did this long range again. East African teams have this specialty.

Its not sheer luck. Lets borrow their book for long range stunners too. A Pity Hakim ruined the night for them.

NFF needs to improve their timelines in taking key decisions...

With WCQ in March, it only makes sense that the position of Head coach for the team is clarified quickly. A new coach needs some time to hit the ground running...

Waiting up till the eleventh hour to make such a decision is a recipe for disaster..
