rvp2018:The Nigerian contractor got the job because it had the experience. And it got the job done to 90& before the envious little Indians forced the government to take the contract back. If you keep giving your road projects to Nigerian and Chinese companies, there's no way you can ever build capacity. |

That only time you twin zoos will grow - then mid way the oil prices will crash - leading to litany of abandoned projects. It's called the Nigerian Oil Curse. Just40: |

Please dont remind us that contractor from hell. If a Nigerian contractor ever get a road contract again in Kenya - then be sure the world will be about to end. Look like you own gov has finally woken up! Nigeria: Transportation minister favours Chinese contractors to local ones Nigeria's outspoken transportation minister Rotimi Amaechi delivered a blunt message to local construction companies who've long complained that they're shut out of bids for the large infrastructure projects that often go to Chinese contractors: "We are not using our local contractors because they are not qualified. If you want to participate, build capacity. We can't give you a life-threatening contract if we don’t trust your capacity." See Kenya is delivering an almost billion dollar project in 1.5yrs - six months ahead of schedule. Kenya: Work by the China Road and Bridge Corporation on the new 27km Nairobi Expressway is now 60% complete and scheduled to be finished next February, six months ahead of schedule, according to Transport and Infrastructure Cabinet Secretary James Macharia. obaaderemi: 2 Likes |

rvp2018:You are desperate as usual. Amaechi was not talking about local construction companies and road projects. He was talking about local construction companies and railway projects. Do you have to lie all the time? Amaechi concluded by saying this:
You see! We are not renewing that contract with the Chinese because we already built the capacity needed unlike little Indians who have enslaved themselves entirely to the Chinese. Why do you think we got the Nairobi project in the first place? Capacity! 1 Like |

@ little Indians, let Nigerian construction companies handle your road projects. We have the experience of building roads in Kenya. Stop giving your road projects to the Chinese. |

Keep doing your thing - and you will sink deeper and deeper poverty. While at it - please send us all those indians and chinese - tell them they are warmly welcome - we will send back you oga brothers in exchange - so you can remain truly authentic african zoo! Or maybe we can keep some in our Zoos for tourist to see what happen when humanbeings totally stop thinking like Obaboon? You havent see nothing yet - next year we will bring thousands of chinese housing contractors - and we will build 500,000 units - enough to house 2 million people in decent housing. China started like that - they invited Americans and Europeans contractors, manufacturers and companies - and they learnt from them. You dont re-invent the wheel by learning on the job. obaaderemi: 2 Likes 1 Share |

We would never give Nigerian contractor. EU who funded the road told us it's was a swedish company. Not only did contractor takes 5yrs to complete 4km of road - and the quality of the road is the WORSE we have ever seen...nobody has ever posted that road here - it's called enterprise road READ: Work on Kenya’s longest flyover faces further delays Although RCC had never done any road construction work in Kenya, it was given the job as part of conditions by the European Union (EU), who financed the project through a grant of Sh3.4 billion – with Kenya settling the balance. EU insisted that the contractor had to come from an EU state member or an affiliate of a European company. RCC is a subsidiary of Switzerland headquartered SBI International Holdings AG, which has interests in construction and other sectors, and has operations in different countries. obaaderemi: 1 Like |

rvp2018:There is nothing reinventing the wheel about road construction. It's basic. The reason your road projects go to Nigerian construction companies and Chinese companies is because you lack the funds and capacity to do it on your own. That's why Kenya is owing China $9bn. Another Lebanon brewing. The bubble will soon burst, you idiot. 2 Likes

Just40:All the parameters point towards the Lebanon Doom in Kenya's case. Nigeria and Ghana also have huge debts, but these are resource rich countries unlike a barren country like Kenya. They've bitten off more than they can chew in a bid to put up roads, sgr and a few other shiny projects. They are going under, it's not arguable. And corruption is still very rife. 2 Likes |

Service sector - tourism is key plank of it. Tourism may contribute little in GDP but it keep a lot of kenyans engaged - there are millions working in hotels - and earning money. Now your oil sector can easily bring your GDP upto 80B dollars - but it can barely employ 10,000 people - it's even worse if it's offshore - just a few whitemen hired by Shell in offshore rig - siphoning oil - and pumping directly into ship - and paying your gov the agreed cut - and that is IT. You get the money and share it amongst yourself - if oil prize collapse - you get almost nothing So yes it better if you can utilize your long coastline to build resorts - using the oil money. You are another Equitorial Quinea or Gabon obaaderemi: 2 Likes |

It hard for you to imagine how we can build roads, repay debt and all that without OIL. It actually very simple - we pay taxes - and our tax collections are now approaching 20B - direct taxes - and 3b for indirect. obaaderemi: 3 Likes |
