Olanrae: If your school won't give your certificate but letter, collect and submit it. You can add small note explaining the situation and your school letter will back it up as evidence. There is nothing you can do about that than be hopeful. |

Teemie22: 3.6 CGPA is low, but most schools focus on your last two years of study. If the last two is not about or above 4/5, the chances are slim. You applied to two top universities. Is your last two years GPA above 4.0? University of Calgary Economics department have a number of African graduate students, but you will have to qualify and be competitive for it based on the requirements stated on their webpage. Are you qualified and competitive? If no, please opt for a post diploma as a back up. |

Hello everyone, Big Congrats to all pprs. Pls the gurus in the house, @ketima, @makano, @frankrobbn and others i can't remember. I would like advice on my proposed course of study. I have a Bsc Civil Engr.(2.1) with about 9years work experience as a civil engr both design and onsite. I applied for masters(Meng) in Civil Engineering at some universities in Canada since November/December but I have not heard back from them. I have recently got admission for a graduate certificate in Project Management in a Canadian College. I would like advice on if opting for a graduate certificate in Project Management, rather than masters civil eng, will be favorable when applying for study visa. |

Nowa001: The bolded is enough to have that agent locked up. He improvised without your consent. JESUS!. Lemme be honest with you, you might be banned as long as the agent is not registered or known to IRCC. I will advise you send the exact same bank statement, attach a reference letter from the bank and an LOE(LETTER OF EXPLANATION) AND NYSC APPOINTMENT LETTER. On this letter, ENSURE YOU TRY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED AND TRY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO BUTTRESS THE ASPECT OF POOR NETWORK WHICH RESULTED IN YOUR LACK OF COMMUNICATION WITH THE AGENT AS AT WHEN YOU WERE IN CAMP. The visa officer might argue that you have no reason to outsource your visa submission to a third party. You can correct that by saying you were a novice as at that time which was why you employed the services of someone to assist you and agreed to have the application reviewed by YOU before its submitted. BEG AND PLEAD WHILE DOING ALL THIS 3 Likes |

Teemenzo: I'm staying far from Lagos, i can get appointment through the letter online by sending the hospital an email now? And then, what about the former appointment for upfront, forfeited like that and won't have an issue? |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Teemenzo: 2:42pm On Jan 28, 2022 |
emmalextemtop: This is how it works. If you habe booked upfront, good. But if you now get a request before the upfront date, you can go to the hospital you registered with, show them your request letter. They will give preference to you. You don't need to pay any other money. 1 Like |

Ruby22: The long wait for a not guaranteed admission is the issue with masters. Have you reached out to the schools international admissions. If not, do so. There is no guarantees as it comes to visa approvals either as a masters applicant or a PGD. Approval is dependent on your documentation packaging, convincing sop and financial availability (avoid lump sums). Therefore nobody can authoritatively give you an answer to your question. |

Ruby22: Hello Rubby22, For Masters in Canada, 2:1 is the benchmark but then, due to competition, what level of 2:1 did you come out with and your last 2 year UG CGPA. Someone with BEng 4.34 in Civil Engr, applied to Manitoba, Simon Fraser, Saskatchewan. Simon Fraser and Manitoba denied him, only Sask admitted him. As per when to expect a decision, it is usually 3 months from the deadline date and not when you applied. Also to increase your chances, you may need to apply to a Civil Engr related PGD/PGC should incase. |
