Teemenzo: Maybe for express entry, but not for someone already inside Canada. How many points do they give for age? It's like you've not heard of PNP? New Brunswick for instance will give you 600 points if you go through this route. That alone is more than all the points you can gather from education, age, etc. For EE, age and education matter. The person that asked the question to which you responded is not going for EE, but immigrating through the study route. 10 Likes |

PatrickOkunima: The question the person asked is not program specific. He or she asked a general question. All provinces have their criteria for Provincial Nomination Program. Any province gives 600 to anyone they select. That's not new. But remember, all these either FSW or PNP are competitive. If you had calm down very well, you will see where i wrote highest score. You can have 780 or 850 and still not qualify for the PNP as there is always a tie-breaker with date of application attached for all draws If you want to know more aboug this process, you can private chat me. Teemenzo: Obviously, you have gathered a lot of information about the Canadian process, but it appears you're mixing things up. You don't need any score to qualify for PNP. 4 Likes |

PatrickOkunima: I know many provinces have their own point based criteria which differs from eachother. Some comes with job offer while others don't require it. My main point it, the said candidate can apply to any PNP but the highest scores get invited. That's my own And i don't even know where you got the idea of "not needing any score". If you can do well to explain the process you know, to me personally, it won't be bad. I don't want us to derail from the purpose of this group 1 Like |

Good morning peeps, happy Sunday to us all! I am a prospective PhD applicant and looking at studying in Canada. Though I already completed a course based research prog in Nigeria with cpga of 4.53 but presently I am undergoing a masters by research program in South Africa to conclude this year. I will like to know if I can apply to Canadian schools now while my prog is still ongoing in South Africa? Also A friend told me Canadian schools don’t consider PhD for international students except I enrol for masters. How true is this my people? I really want to tap into this opportunity this year. |

Teemenzo:this is false actually, the right age bracket for PR application via the express entry path is 20-29years couple with Canadian work experience, study and great IELTS score has a better chance than most outward applicants. Note: An inward PR applicant has three paths to Permanent residency the CEC path, express entry and PNP. Most inward applicant usually follow the CEC path because its major requirements is one year work experience (1580 hours) in O,A or B NOC, which I believe is very possible with 3years PGWP. 7 Likes |

Teemie22: For Manitoba, what stream did you apply for? Economics and econometrics or economics and society? You can check Concordia university But you have to be fast. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Davidganna10: 8:49am On Jan 30, 2022 |
adespecial:yes you can apply while your program is ongoing. Although, it is better to apply after your program, by then your credentials will be ready. That is false you can apply directly to PhD program as an international students as far as you have a masters degree (2.1) and/or secure a sponsor. |

Taiyelolu20:I don't think imm forms submitted through webform and email would be accepted .In my own opinion, what is best for you is to withdraw your application to avoid waste of time. Then start a new application and make sure you crosscheck all your documents and forms before you submit. Await other responses from gurus and members. 1 Like |

Thank you sir. My masters degree cpga is 4.53/5 and that’s what I intend to apply with. I am doing the research based masters in South Africa to improve my research skills. Davidganna10: 1 Like |

Davidganna10: False in what sense, is 24 outside the age bracket i metioned. All these you have mentioned works for only those in canada. And the candidate in question is 19 and only has a two year diploma certificate without any canadian work experience. Mind you the work experience needed has to be with a company that has LMIA. So where have i gone wrong? Me i don't understand you people sha. 1 Like |

Taiyelolu20: Hello, Please how were you able to submit work permit without filing IMM forms? That's the first mandatory form you're to fill and that if you don't upload a filled one, your application won't and can't be submitted. Unless you're referring to study permit using the new portal. In the new portal, you don't fill nor upload any IMM form ok. 4 Likes |

Teemenzo:you start losing points from 30years so 35 is not the required age bracket. at the bolded the person you quoted made mention of "going for" and "staying back" I don't understand how that implies already has diploma and an applying for PR. You can read it again maybe you missed it. Have a nice day. 4 Likes |

How were you able to submit your application in the first place? You should have received a personalized list of documents to submit, and IMM forms upload tabs would be compulsory such that you can't even submit your application without uploading them. Taiyelolu20: 1 Like |

Perfectyyyyyy: By the time this person finishes the 2 year diploma, he or she would have been 21years with no work experience. The question will be what programs can he or she apply under. As listed by a moniker for those in canada, Canada Experience Class, PNP could come in play. If there are programs which doesn't require work experience(which I'm willing to learn about), the person could apply. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by PatrickOkunima(m): 9:54am On Jan 30, 2022 |
Teemenzo: He does not have a diploma certificate. He hopes to immigrate through the study route by pursuing a 2 year diploma program in Canada. You don't understand the guys question, but went ahead to offer advice. I am correcting you, and you're still claiming right. You even asked me to contact you to learn about Canada. For your info, my immediate younger brother is a Canadian citizen (Not PR). If I want to know about Canada, it is him I will call not you. 1 Like

Good morning Frank. I intend opening an application for the Fall intake soon but yet to decide on which of the schools. I sent you an email and hope you can find the time to respond with your backlog of requests. I would welcome a personal interaction. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Teemenzo: 10:13am On Jan 30, 2022 |
PatrickOkunima: congrats. The answer still remains No either the person has gotten the diploma or just going to get it. I am not arguing with you in anyways. I an only laying out the processes after the diploma. So if you have issues with ne explaining, mehn deal with it. Peace |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Teemenzo: 10:16am On Jan 30, 2022 |
To perfectyyyy, let him or her get in and do the diploma. Apply for the 3 year PGWP and find job in a company that offers LMIA. With one year work experience, its a smooth sail. Because the true reality is, its difficult to get such a job quickly. |

@Teemenzo and @PatrickOkunima. Thanks to both of you for your explanation to offer the best and more accurate information. However, the back and front argument has made me confused the more. Now this is the profile. He is currently 19years old. Completed his WAEC around September last year but working as secretary in a computer center pending the success of his JAMB for Nigeria university admission. Because of Canada Universities cost for a 4 years degree program, i was thinking of seeking admission for him to do a 2 years diploma program in Canada by January 2023. This implies that he would be 23 years upon completion of the program. So my inquiring is if there is the possibility of him getting a PR after completion his study. Teemenzo: |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by Teemenzo: 12:06pm On Jan 30, 2022 |
Perfectyyyyyy: The truth is, if education was the only factor to get PR, the diploma should have done the magic. The factors below will be his advantages: 1) Age 23 2) The Doploma Certificate 3) The fact that you as his sibling is already in Canada. To better understand this, are you now a PR? If yes, he has more chance. What program is he going for? If its tech related, many provinces will want him. Apply to a school in a province that promotes tech related programs. |
