juniior: hello, are you sure it's 60% of tuition fee?... in their website it's 50% for visa support letter |

Dexter094: Yeah, it says 50% in the UL website. But I wasn't quoting the UL website. I was just trying to give advice so ppl don't fall into the same mistakes a made. If you pay 50%, UL will give you the visa support letter, but the Irish embassy in Nigeria will take the 50% school fees paid as insufficient finance (Even if you show that you have the balance of the fees in your bank account). And once they smell blood, they will start looking for other unnecessary errors such as birth certificate, lodgement, observing the conditions of your visa, obligation to return etc. It's crazy. Best to play safe and pay the full tuition or a bulk of it. |

You are absolutely right. In the email they sent to me, they kind of advised that it's better to pay the tuition in full. juniior: 1 Like |

Hi... You are to pay the 50% before a visa support letter can be issued to you and they recommend that the other half is paid prior to enrollment. In other words, you pay the 50% to apply for your visa and then you pay the balance after you must have gotten your visa or close to resumption. sixsgod: |

Louiscares: Thanks Louis. I was okay to board with my vaccination card and I arrived safe in Waterford. Please can you confirm if you needed a UK visa to transit through London to Dublin? Or an Irish visa suffices? Wondering because of Brexit By the way, George was not able to find something suitable for me unfortunately. I am in a temporary room for now and will look to get something more appropriate when I settle. Thanks again! |

UPDATES ON VISA OFFICE ADJUSTMENTS !!! Good morning A new Manager will be starting at the Irish Embassy in August!! Someone new may not be as strict and could potentially be better but same rules apply and we need to keep the standard up. However its never a great time when they do rotate in August – it’s a terrible time to change personnel because most Visa’s are usually in the Office at that time. So with that in mind my best advice to you for September 2022 is to pressure your students to apply and pay early for Ireland and have their Visa’s submitted by May 2022. Anyway, all I can do is advise with regard to Visa submissions. So I have said it now. No point in asking me to talk to the Embassy- you know I can’t do it. APPLY EARLY = HAPPIER STUDENTS = HAPPIER AGENTS = HAPPIER X |

ICaSNg: We had a similar experience in 2019 which lead to visa decisions / applications taking 3 months to 4 months on average to process. I will advise June as the latest time to apply for September 2022 intakes, else just defer till Jan 2023 (God willing) then apply for visa by October 2022 towards Jan 2023 intake. |

Greetings Everyone, Please I'm a silent follower of this thread and ill be starting in September 2022. I want to clarify if Duolingo is still accepted during the visa processing period or its only IELTS for 2022. Secondly, What else should i start to prepare for from now till June application time in order not to rush during that period. Thanks |

Hello everyone. For parents coming over to UK to visit, how do they go about it? Do they need a letter of invitation? Also, has anyone who applied for a student visa on January 14th heard anything? ***I just realised its the wrong thread |

Hi, no transit visa is required if one has a 'D' Visa from Ireland which is a long-stay visa. Once one receives the IRP card, also, no need for a transit visa via London Heathrow. purplish: |

engrrozay: It is official , DUOLINGO has been approved by DFA for visa applications henceforth . Exceptions to Nursing Students if their school would accept Duolingo as they often accept Academic IELTS 1 Like |

Hi Guys, Since Ireland does not need a predeparture PCR test for fully vaccinated people (I am fully vaccinated), I was wondering if there is any need to get the PCR test done here in Nigeria. I will be using Qatar airways and I will be transiting through Qatar to Dublin. Since a PCR test is not needed for people transiting through Qatar, do you think I should still do a predeparture PCR test? Please what do you guys think? |

Hi Purplish Were you able to travel to Ireland with just your vaccination card or did you do an extra pre-departure PCR testing for boarding? Thanks purplish: |
Re: GENERAL Irish (student)visa & Work Permit-New THREAD*** by purplish(f): 1:21pm On Jan 30, 2022 |
Sholy29ice: Boarded Turkish Airlines with my vaccination card. The rules of the country you're transiting through might also affect what you need, so best to check with your airline. |
