No matter how we try to sugarcoat it, I think in my opinion, the Super Eagles failed in Cameroon. We are praising Eguavoen because he made us believe again, but then, when the hard test came, he fumbled. To me, that is not a yardstick to reward him with the coaching job. But who am I to go against the mob? 11 Likes 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe:Does Firmino play closer to goal? Each time you are caught in your statements you turn to philosophy . |

Karlovych: Can you not explain yourself? Why do you people like asking questions? Make your point. You did not catch anything. No one is trying to catch anyone. The point is simple. There is more required from strikers than just goals. It is an old topic. That is why Guardiola can leave a proven scorer like Aguero on the bench and opt to play a midfielder. I gave Firmino as an example, who is a striker from Liverpool but does not have high goal scoring numbers. Now you are asking me does he play close to goal? Make your point. Which one did I ask you when I explained Ciro Immobile? |

How come no one made mention of aribo’s monstrous performance yesterday against Ross county which he got an assist? Still waiting for nwakali’s first assist and goal for the season 2 Likes |

PurpleHouse: That is because you want to hinge your opinion on the result of the game which does not paint a true picture of what really happened. Eguavoen did more than make us believe. He made us play better, improved the players, and even promoted the unity of the team. He gave us an identity. So saying he failed is not the true picture. Finito. 4 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: Bro, he didn't meet the expectations. So he failed. Yes I agree the time was short for him, but considering our past glories/results and what he did, he failed. Result is the keyword... Not beautiful football that is too predictable. 1 Like |

PurpleHouse: You are just contradicting yourself. With the cards on the table, Eguavoen played a nice hand. There is little you can do about fate. You do your best and with time, if you do not give up, you win. All he can do is his best and have the boys firing on all cylinders. 2 Likes 1 Share |

andrewbaba44: The career is gone He faces domestic violence and sexual assault charges, he could face prison time and when he is out, he will be in his mid-20's at best, football would have left him behind and he will be lucky to land a gig with a League 2 team with such a criminal record. So much for being the darling of England 4 Likes |

TFLASHOGEE: Do you know that Giggs time is different from today? That someone faced minimal backlash for something done more than 5 years ago, does not mean another person will not face worse today. Social media has greatly influenced how systems work, a social media Giggs did not have to deal with during his time. Also, Giggs had already carved his career at the time. Also, Giggs is a white man Y'all gonna understand the difference between a white man and a negro in the court of public opinion with this case. His victim is even a BLONDE WHITE WOMAN, the most fragile of women. When a black man inflicts violence on a white woman, at no time in history has the black man come out with minimal scathing. TheGoodJoe: I love this team prolly more than you do. But the hard truth is that we failed. Eguavoen failed. The players failed. The keeper failed woefully. Why? The coach got our last game tactics wrong. We lost to one of the poorest team of the competition. Dammn it. |

PurpleHouse: I keep on saying it. There was nothing impressive about the Tunisian side. It was an embarrassing defeat. It really is a pathetic loss. To lose to the Tunisians is pitiful. Some will say that it was a defensive masterstroke, but it really wasn't. Even with 10 men, the Tunisian defence was suspect. And a better side would have equalised. The truth is this Nigerian side is extremely inefficient and it all boils down to the tactics of the coach. Needing 12 chances to score 1 goal. 6 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: It was not our "fate" to lose anything. It was not our destiny to be beaten by a weak team. A team that was so weak they barely come forward to attack. We lost because a coach and his players felt too confident and played like there was nothing at stake. No strategy, no tactics, just go into the field and be yourself, enjoy your game, play as you play in your club. That's not a strategy. That's a freewill to doom. Bring your strategy and tell your players how to make it materialize. Simple. Not just playing gengen pressing with no end results. Mind you. This is not a dig at Eguavoen. I have my respect for him, and he's a superb coach. But he failed his one simple "tough" test. |
