Good day fellow nairalanders,
When filling my imm form(1294e) I was asked to input the date in which my program would end and right now I don't know the particular date so what do you think is the best date to input.

I understand. Like I said recently, applicant would probably be too young to know, investigate, or put in the effort required. I didn't know you were the applicant. I just know most people at that age will avoid complex situations. The simplest and most straightforward route is through bachelors. So, you have made a very good choice. All the best with your visa and studies.

The thing is that i am 17 and will be 18 by may. I would have chosen diploma because of the cost and i want to grad fast and begin work to earn pr quickly. I considered my age and made that decision. Thanks for the information tho.

Okay.. Lemme explain further..

She went to canada for a 2yrs course and was ought to be given a 3yrs pgwp but because her passport was to expire before the 3yrs, they gave her 2yrs. Now she has renewed her passport and wants to apply for a pgwp extension.

My query is, isnt pgwp extension applied online and not paper.

If she is still inside Canada and after getting a new passport she wants to apply for an extension to get the full PGWP, she must apply on paper. Below is the link .

Hey guys,

Please, because GCMS note is taking too long to get, I want to crack on with my application blindly, but I would like to know from the experience you guys have, what could be the reason for refusal based on "current employment situation", when the individual is employed?

Help me, please.

Hello everyone,

So I have been offered an admission at university of Winnipeg (PACE) post graduate human resource management diploma program.

I am to email them a copy of IRCC letter that confirms I am eligible for a study permit ( port of entry or letter of introduction)

How do I go about this please?

Help me, please.

That will mean you want us to guess based on experience. That's a very interesting game and I will play it with you. My guess will include:

1. Applicant didn't submit employment documents including salary account, or employment income (current and potential) does not justify study.
2. Current employment, maybe more than 3 years, does not match proposed study.
3. Applicant did not explain how proposed study will help their economic situation or employability.
4. If applicant is married, applicant didn't fully explain and submit evidence of spouse employment.

Those are my top 4 guesses (arranged based on perceived priority). I may be very wrong. Only GCMS can tell you the exact reason for your refusal. All the best.

First of all, you need to have an admission letter to a Canadian school (Designated Learning Institute
(DLI) before you can apply for Canada Study Visa, and the program must/should show some Career/Academic Progression

That is

- B.SC holder go for a Masters or PG.cert
- HND holder go for PG.Cert
- Masters degree holder go for PHD
- You are a graduate (HND,BSC, MSC) but with Work Experience in another field, go for a Program related to that work experience e.g Tunde Studied Biochemistry (whether HND , BSC, Masters) but have 5-10 years work experience as a Human Resources Manager, Tunde is expected to go for an Human Resources Management PG.CERT program at a college (DLI) in Canada.

Your Degree (if no study gap) or your Work Experience must relate to what you wanna come study in Canada.

In your best interest, digest all the info in the link below (the first page)

https://www.nairaland.com/6957495/canadian-student-visa-thread-part

and ask questions, great minds in here would respond.

And NO, you can't go to the Canadian Embassy to ask

Regards

Maybe if you list out the supporting employment documents you submitted with your application, one might be able to narrow down a spot.

VO was specific about your employment situation and since u have just said you were employed... What documents did u submit??

Did you explain in your sop why you are going for the course and the importance of the program in your home country??

When you try to look at it from a wider view, employment situation can be past, present or future

Past in the sense that you probably never stayed in a job for over 2-3year and move from job to jobs that doesn't show career progression or growth

Present in the sense that you recently got you present job and already looking to go for a post graduate program in the file,
*or your application was not submitted or missing a documents as regards your current employment like your payslips,
*was the salary constant or coming in once in two months,

*for your age grade is your current salary up to what one within your age bracket should be receiving
*Your last promotion?? Spending over 4-5 years in a company without a promotion..is this your case
*You position in your company... How crucial is your role in your company and could taking a leave affect the growth or day to day activities of your company
*was ur application submitted with a reference letter or study leave...and so on

Future can be the prospect of your course of choice back in your country,
*Might your position be dere for you when u are done with your program??

I hope this is eye opening

Wow! Wow!! Wow!!!

I figure what the problem could have been.

I actually provided my employment contract. I was in Europe when I submitted my first application.

Yes, I never stayed with one organisation for 2-3 years, but the roles were similar. When I applied, my current job was unrelated to my intended study.

Thank you so much for all the questions. They helped me to think in diverse ways.

I appreciate you.

Hello everyone,
Been following this thread for a while and I truly appreciate everyone here. I also have a few questions for my situation, I am a graduate of Geography, did Geography for both masters and bsc before going for my masters in 2018 I worked for 1yrs 6months in a micro finance bank as a credit risk officer and while doing my masters I stated a cargo handling business which is thriving, after my masters I got a job as a sales coordinator whilst still running my business simultaneously, now looking to study in Canada and I want to move to business analytics, I initially wanted to do another masters in business analytics but it’s expensive and most schools in Canada wants GRE, so I decided to go for post baccalaureate in business analytics which is cheaper , I have applied to a school but I haven’t gotten an offer yet but with what I have read and heard about visa application and career progression I have been thinking a lot, I would appreciate your honest review on this, I am actually thinking that convincing the VO that post baccalaureate will be a good ground to transition fully to a career in business analytics and also help me with my business

Hello House,

I am preparing my application and gathering needed document to apply for sturdy permit around Mar.
I am trying to get the full application documents form IMM forms and I noticed there are changes in the form titles and number with what some members have shared here.

Please see attached image from CIC website for Nigeria and let me know if these changes are correct as opposed to what members are submitting for example family information form etc has changed.

You have a good case, because your work experience is relevant to business. You just need to convincingly state some of the things you stated here, and how business analytics would help your business and future plans.

You could also demonstrate home ties using the cargo business.

Good evening Makano, Lekiboboe and others,

My tuition fee is 34k for 2yrs. I have paid 17k for first year. I have 10m in my salary account plus $10k in another account.

Is my proof of funds ok or should I add the fixed deposit certificate of 3m.

Hello guys
I am a second time applicant
I submitted my application on October 14th
Medicals got passed October 25th
Eligibility started December 21st or so and I have ordered for my gcms notes

But I found out I submitted my imm5257 form twice in place of the family information form, so I quickly sent the family information form through mail the next day on October 15th

I have sent mails for update, and I got reply that my application is still under review. I don't even know anymore.

Is everything OK like this
