To me o, how much you are settled with does not matter, what matters is the sense and knowledge you gathered in those years. My Oga who is my relative did not give me one kobo after 5 years of serving him. But today, he can't stand me and we are still in good terms.

This system should be regulated. Its risky. What if the boss even dies? There are some that find a way of accusing their apprentice of theft to avoid paying them well.
There should be a system whereby the boss put aside something every month in a bank for the boy.

I don't know your uncle and his antecedents, but calling him a fool cos he settled your brother with 300k is very wrong. It is a good thing that your father understands how it works: you should learn from his wisdom.

And saying that very wrong to compare your brother's current situation with his former boss. Even if he is Dangote today, it is the same that made him what he is today. Should your brother try anything arrogant, the odds will be against him spiritually and otherwise.

Most times, some of these Ogas become very unfortunate when settling their boys that they will barely even have something to settle them with. Like I said, I don't know your uncle or the circumstances surrounding his decision. But from your story, I don't think he did anything wrong to deserve the title of a fool.

Though the 100k is too small considering the number of years the boy served him, I would advice he accepts it in good fate and make good use of it. Probably the man would have loved to do better but circumstances prevailed against it. Some of these men settle with huge amount of money but with evil mind that the money would come back to them. It doesn't matter the amount an apprentice is settled with but the most important is if he has acquired all the skills necessary and ready to build his own business. May God guide the young chap.
