I totally agree. Segun Oni is the only formidable candidate amongst the lined out, but PDP just threw away an opportunity to have people vote massively for them.

During Fayemi's primaries 4 years ago, the moment Fayose supported Eleka instead of Segun Òní, Fayemi said he heaved a sigh of relief because he knew the deal was in his favour.

He also is know to be his own man and finds it difficult to accept "political godfatherism" hence the reason he didn't get much support from the money bag thieves in the state. He believed that the state money belongs to the people and should be spent to make life good for them rather than some privileged few political bigwigs and appointees. In his first term as governor, he didn't giddy up to any godfatherism and he also did not loot nor open the states treasure to looters or party people to loot, that is why he is sometimes called a stingy governor.

Segun Oni's popularity and support is mainly from the masses, and they know that the day he is able to clinch a candidacy in primaries, that is the day his gubwr ambition is sealed because he will beat any other candidates fair and square, for he has the mandate of the people of the state.

Fayose has further made more enemies for himself from Ekiti people with this stunt he pulled.

The 12-storey structure projected to serve as the national secretariat of the former ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is tottering, being a borrowed vision that was not contemplated by the founding fathers of the party.
 
 After organising fundraising on two occasions and gathering billions of naira, the office could not complete that single project.

As such, five years after work on the site was stopped in 2014, the new helmsmen in PDP are crying for funds to see to the completion of the building. However, the cry for more funds has raised fresh concerns over the status and whereabouts of the N21billion raised during a special fundraising dinner organised by the party on December 2014.  
  
Incumbent PDP national chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, recently lamented that there was not enough money to complete the new national secretariat, which cost has was varied upwards from N11.5bilion to N16billion.
    
The then governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Namadi Sambo, an architect, was commissioned to put up the project design. And in a bid to get the structure off the drawing board, PDP organised fundraising on November 14, 2008, targeting N10b out of which it raked in N6b. The dinner was chaired by Vice President Goodluck Jonathan and the highest donation came from Mr. Femi Otedola, while the richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, announced a donation of N3b worth of cement.

You lied, four years ago during the primary that produced Eleka, Segun Oni was not in PDP and did not participate in PDP primaries. 2018 PDP primary was between Kolapo Eleka and Dayo Adeyeye. Segun Oni contested under APC, he lost out to Fayemi before he decamped. Stop spewing trash and lies.

you are very wrong here. Segun oni was in Apc when Professor Eleka contest for the governorship ticket in Pdp in 2018 , and he won the ticket to become the Pdp governorship flag bearer. Segun oni contest for the governorship ticket under Apc with Fayemi and he lost woefully to Fayemi cos’ Fayemi has the political structures in Ekiti State Apc.
