Yes you can. It just means the LISA is not available to you. There are several buying schemes though that might be available. Off the top of my head, there is 95% mortgages, Help to Buy, Shared Ownership and First Homes (specifically for only key workers). Do some research and see which ones you can access.

Spend what you can afford to clear monthly without accruing interest. That might be your whole food budget plus incidentals. The biggest mistake is seeing it as accessible cash to use nilly willy. Cos it's not. Na finely crafted loan with interest

Hopefully I will get my passport in January. Then I can start applying for jobs abroad.
I did not apply for my ILR on tier 2 because I was naive. I was at risk of redundancy with barely 2 months to my ILR and the company wouldn't give me a letter without stating that I was at risk. I didn't feel comfortable applying with that on the letter so I canceled my appointment and when I failed to get another sponsor and not enough time to find a decent job in Nigeria, I applied for a spousal visa which reset my timeline.
In hindsight, I should have applied and I would have been granted it, saving me thousands of pounds in application fees and NHS surcharge. More painful is the fact that I had considered moving back home in the earlier years but got to the point where going back without at least ILR was not logical. Hopefully I find a good role back home or somewhere near , Amen.

Thats the best actually. Stick to what you can easily afford and refund. CC shouldn't be relied on as it isn't free money. And ensure you payback ASAP. For me I even pay back before my statement comes, although some say its best one pays after to reflect on the Credit report.

As per background, they had a 5-6 yrs relationship, both families know each other, he got his citizenship years ago through service but he’s been out for 3-4 yrs now and is working as a civilian. My sister found out he had 2 other baby mamas while she was pregnant and called off the relationship. Carried the pregnancy, all the bills till date alone She has never called the guy to ask for help and he has not offered any. He is single, but has 2 other children from 2 other women. Asking him that it time he also contributes towards the child. ... she can then let him know of this Remo and she use that if she has to . Sometimes dialogue works sometimes it doesn't but you gat to try first . Single parenthood is not easy.

I can't imagine funding my child 100 percent while the dad does nothing. I will be furious and be angry everyday. It not something I can even imagine so my heart goes out to your sister. Its not easy.

They've casually mentioned that they used the government's help to buy scheme which means all they had to do was drop 5% deposit.

I hope they are aware that such schemes are tagged as public funds. Good luck to them if they are not indefinite leave to remain holders as at the time they made the application . . . . Only an idiot with an eye on UK citizenship will claim public funds and think they can get away with it . . . .

My sister has not complained to us about the bills but its sad watching our once very bubbly and full of life little sister become a shadow of herself, all she makes and gets goes fully into the childs upbringing. she doesnt socialize or complain to anyone probably cuz she doesnt want to be judged or blamed . This is the reason the whole family is trying so hard to ensure the childs dad is made to contribute i saw the childs school fees receipt this term (over 200k) and became very furious. How can she be dong all this silently while the guys does nothing? we have made some progress between yesterday and today
