Avoid banks that are prone to fraud, banks like Access, uba, first, gtb, eco, zenith and the rest. Go and open you a union bank. Buhari's share in that bank is making it one of the best and still standing banks in Nigeria.

best and standing bank that was sold off couple of years ago, anyway banks should up their games to curtail this and also always try to pay off customers this happens to, they have insurance cover.

Dis same thing happened to me on Friday o,ATM machine swallowed my card ,it was even @ nite oooo and it was writing transaction in process,though I was debited and d money didn't come out...But i made sure I carried a chair and sat close to d machine...it took like close to 30 min b4 my card was released....Na naija we dey cool

I always tell ppl, if U have an atm card, den there is need for U to have d banks mobile app. From my app I deactivate my cards easily weneva I can't find it and in d case of first bank I can chose to deactivate specific services like POS and Online payments the card.

Even, if assuming it is the security man or someone else that later retrieved the ATM card, how did they get her PIN? Agreed, they will be able to use it to make purchases without the PIN, but not withdrawals unless they have the PIN.

My point is, is it possible that an insider in the bank; who can easily look up the retrieved card in the system and access/change her PIN is involved?

The card was swapped just as Slowormir said. The lady must have been assisted by fraudulent persons who took her real card and left her with a fake.
If you get to an ATM don't allow anyone to help you except the security officer employed by the bank if you need help.

But POS also have a payment limit, how did PSO pay #243,000?

I think it is time the EFCC, SFU and DSS start taking a closer look at Bank Staff, they are conniving with Fraudsters
Monitor their Calls, who are their Friends, Monitor the bank Accounts they interract with, Look into their Lifestyles and Assets.
This level of fraud is becoming unbearable for Citizens.etc

False Sir, this happened to my mum last year at about this time and nobody swapped her card, first Bank denied this happening on their ATM n GTB never replied my lawyer. Seeing this just infuriated me n I'm rekindindling that case, I must retrieve that #160,500 I promise my mother this today

Look, no one should help you with your Card, SIMPLES.
If you cant use a card, you dont need a Card.

People should also have an Expense bank account where small daily money (small amounts) is kept.
Your Main Account should not have any other access, except Personal, bank hall Withdrawal.

same thing happened to my dad last year in Abuja..

he wants to transfer some cash to his bro.. GUESS WHAT! ATM swallowed his card and it was Saturday... before Monday 500,000k has been debited from his account and got an alert that the transaction was made through POS.. ...

IT'S THE BANKERS or PEOPLE THAT ARE QUALIFIED IN THE FIELD , Abi ordinary person like Me can have access to the machine, remove card and used it in POS then returned it back before the sunlight of the first day of the week angry

What if she's using a platinum card which can actually withdraw more than 200k in a day
She could've been outsmarted truly
