Hi everyone.
Please I would like to know if I have to pay a deposit before I could rent an accommodation. I have a bedroom studio that I am going to view today but I saw that they requested for a deposit but I am confused because I don’t know if the deposit is the rent fee for the month or if it is extra payment and also if anyone have bedroom in London to rent please I am interested thanks.
There are two types of deposits. The first one is to secure the apartment, this is paid if you like the accommodation after viewing it. The second one is what we call damages or damage fee in Nigeria and is paid at the point of paying rent if you decide to go ahead with the house.

I have some funds that I'm not using now and hoping to invest it. When I checked Monzo, I saw like 0.3 pounds as interest for savings. I was thinking of mutual funds in Nigeria but again it will cost me to transfer my pounds across border and vice versa. What are the investment options here, which bank has mutual funds. My money is too idle please.

Apologies if this issue has been dealt before, difficult going through the pages.

Thanks.

You can but it's better for the company to do it for you. Sometimes the DBS letter might get to you after the deadline to register it on the website.

GUYS I NEED HELP!

I'm about 2 weeks in UK with wife n 2 kids

Just finished my quarantine and ready for work life.

Sent out numerous CV for care worker/assistant role.

Got couples of calls, but they keep asking for at least 1 month UK experience. Some even ask if am moniker and have driving license.

Need guys with experience to tell me how to go about this asap.

Need to start making some money ASAP.

Aside from the care home jobs, I need recommendation of a credible security training outfit that I can take up their course for SIA License.

Thank you guys.

Does anyone have an idea of how long it takes to get your passport after capturing(standard appointment and not fast track).
Also can one request for the passport to be posted to my address and what’s the process please?

Thanks. That was what I wanted to confirm. You're correct, 26pounds for more than one university.

Good day, Ma. I'm currently applying for PGCE secondary biology. To submit, I found out I have to pay application fee. I want to confirm if I'm applying the correct way, because I haven't come across application fee in the postgraduate application I've come across for UK universities.

Also, if correct, is there a way to pay the fee from Nigeria? My access atm is being declined on the site

The issue is that you have been sending CVs out by ursef. I think what you shld do is register with recruitment agencies in ur area, pay them to trained you and sort ur DBS. They will probably send you out for unpaid shift for one or two days to get practical experience before they send you out to make money for yourself.

Otherwise, do the DIY method by doing the training online and watching YouTube videos but u will still need reference to land a job.

Also, while your waiting to land a job, maybe it will be a good time to start making plans on getting a uk license as it seems most companies now prefer to hire a carer that drives.

I don’t know much about Coventry, so maybe your best bet is to chat with the African or Asian meat sellers.

Also apply customer service advisor roles too..there are some that are work from home, a few are flexible to 20 hours. (Lloyds and first direct are actively recruiting though full time, sky has some part time CS roles)

All the money borrowed to fund the corona virus interventions plus the ones stolen by people will have to be paid back, starting in April. I don't want to contribute too much to what I did not benefit or only benefitted little from.
I want to leave for several reasons. I haven't really felt at home here and ideally I will like to return back home. Also, I like to travel and work in different countries, this will make it easier for me to achieve.

OK thank you for replying. I understand, yes UK is kinda going down but they are hiding it and people can't really see it. You are right, why allow the UK govt take from you so much with little in return, and making the public pay for thier bad actions. I have an offer for a job back in Africa and might finally decide to take it and leave and spready wings and windows of opportunities. Same with you, Although successful, I wasn't really fulfilled here and need to make a positive change fast now I'm young. Freedom is here for you and us, lol. Best wishes and God bless you

So no need for fast track then?
I think that will still be useful for people who want to go in next day, rather than waiting for 2 weeks.

Thank you guys.

Also if you’ve ever taken care of your Mother, Father or Grand Parents who were unwell it’s also Care Experience. Maybe not UK care but don’t discount it. Still tender it as experience.
