kingphilip: The assessment of goalkeepers is primarily done in lsolation, he is part of the team but it's a solitary deduction. And so YouTube videos should never be used to make an overriding deductions because they are all easily contrived. Nonetheless, where goalkeepers are concerned it can give some indication. I qualified my opinion with the words, " He looks the BIZNESS" 1 Like |

This an incident could be 40 percent penalty etc. I'm a computer sciencitst so u have an idea of the maths behind it. Read up in fuzzy sets and it's application. With fuzzy robots are not so rigid |

Joebie: Agreed without question. My view is that every player showing outstanding performance in club and league should be invited to camp and the coaches carry out assessment and selection. The very big question, However, can our indeginous coaches be free from vested interests , Favouritism and outright corruption. This is the big question ❓ The other problem is that outstanding performance and quality in club and league are not the pivotal and only overriding consideration. I have been accused with the tag of promoting as some have termed it borough and init boys . The abuse and denigration of my view are well documented here. Claims of they are in low level leagues the English Championship, not good enough, not done anything, etc. But look at our AFCON team selection, and you see blatant hypocrisy, bigotry and double standard. 1 Like 1 Share |

Eguavoen Submits AFCON 2021 Technical Report To NFF The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), yesterday, confirmed that it has received an in-depth technical report on the Super Eagles’ outing at the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations finals in Cameroun from the team’s technical crew, led by Augustine Eguavoen. “We have received the technical report on the AFCON 2021 and we are currently studying it, in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development. Once the study and appraisal are done with, we will make known our position,” NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi said. Nigeria won all her three group phase matches against Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau in Garoua, and emerged the only team in the tournament to log maximum nine points from three matches. The team, however, lost by the odd goal to Tunisia in the Round of 16. The Super Eagles will take on Ghana’s Black Stars in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 play-off round scheduled for the month of March. https://guardian.ng/sport/eguavoen-submits-afcon-2021-technical-report-to-nff/ |

Greetings. Who watched Etim Esin play ? Was he better than Jay Jay Okocha? My elder brother picks Oruma over Jay Jay ,his opinion though. My Dad is of the opinion that we lacked a playmaker that was why Eguaveon wing play wasn't as effective as it should be. Who was a better number 10?. Mikel?,JayJay?,Henry Nwosu?Oruma?Etim Esin?. |

Daninya33: Unfortunately, I did not watch Esin in his prime but when Coach Monday Sinclair became coach of Eagle cement FC (later named Dolphins), he signed an old Etim Esin. That is, around 2000 or 2001. I am telling you, what Etim Esin did with the ball, I have never seen a player do it. It was completely unbelievable. Etim Esin will dribble an opponent and the person will fall. That was not he height of it. His teammates will also fall. That was how insane his tricks were. It happened repeatedly. However, he did not last in the game to compare with Okocha but the little I saw, made me acknowledge he was special. |

Daninya33: By the way, Sinclair preferred Oruma to Okocha. I think Oruma was more of a tactician on the field than Okocha. So Sinclair liked his creative midfielder to align with his tactical thinking. 1 Like |

I never knew Sunday Oliseh was such a baller when he was young. Is it me or does he not play like Kanu Nwankwo? So Oliseh was another creative player converted to play as a defensive midfielder. Nice clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZI5HlEaHuNY 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: I remember Eagle Cement Sketchingly .I used to watch them play on our black / white T.V.in the good old days. Wow,Etim Esin was really a football maestro.I learnt he didn't fulfill his potentials because of his lifestyle( Women,Drugs,Alcohol). How true is it? 1 Like |

Very interesting interview by Sunday Oliseh. Made some interesting points especially how good the quality of local football adminstration was in the past. I think the current Sports Minister should work with the NFF to pick the ideas of Sunday Oliseh. Come up with a concrete development framework and put it in motion. The idea of absorbing Ex-Players to work as coaches, administrators and staff of the leagues and clubs is brilliant. Well, most politicians do not care about development. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IeX2_abl50o 1 Like 1 Share |

Daninya33: My best performance I ever saw from a creative midfielder for Nigeria was by Emmanuel Ebiede in the Super Eagles camp in Shell Residential area Port Harcourt. He was magical. See the way the guy dribbled Taribo, Uche, and Sunday Oliseh. Had the crowd screaming. Funny enough, he did not even make the bench which was pure criminal. I think Ebiede is the biggest creative loss of Nigeria. 1 Like |

There were several questionable selections on that AFCON list. But overall, I think most of the players deserved to be in the squad considering circumstances like the unavailability of some players. komekn: 1 Like |

Daninya33: Etim Esin was too big then. You can lose your job dropping him. I was too young to watch him but I remember the buzz after he finished playing. The next morning, from taxis, buses, neighbors etc. All they talked about was Etim Maradona Esin. By the way, Emmanuel Ebiede was the creative midfielder of Coach Monday Sinclair's Sharks FC. 1 Like 1 Share |
