Even our leaders don't take Nigeria seriously

I implore every Nigerian that can afford to travel, to see how organised other climes are
Even neighbouring Cotonou here is far more organized than Nigeria

I fully understand the despair and all the challenges at home which is largely responsible for this ugly situation.

But why going through so much just to cross to another country, they will gather a lot of money, movement from one African country to another before embarking on the dangerous journey of uncertainty.

They will finally end up sleeping on the streets of European countries after getting there, some of them hawk and sweep to make ends meet, but back at home they won't do those things because of pride.

Why going to another country to become a third class citizen?

There's this wrong notion that as a graduate you must work inside one fine office with suit and tie, live a lavish lifestyle and try to impress men and women.
Nollywood movies and Nigerian politicians encourage this a lot.

We worship people that return from abroad, even if they do dirty jobs like drugs, all our people want to see when you return is beautiful car and house and they will worship you automatically.

Are Nigerians outside even enjoying? Because some bad ones have soiled our reputation badly, we don't have good image anywhere in the world, even within Africa, nobody trusts a Nigerian anymore, so why going through so much just to become an object of ridicule out there? They end up doing those menial jobs they won't do at home.

We look down on people that make legitimate ends meet in Nigeria through menial jobs but worship and glorify Yahoo boys and corrupt politicians! Something is indeed wrong with us.

No society can make headways with this kind of mindset and mentality our people have.
Oga leave grammar and long episode the answer is HARDSHIP AND INSECURITIES

Bonus? My children MUST MARRY ONLY WHITE PEOPLE!

Less shouting and emotional abuse in their lives. I don WARN them SERIOUSLY! ✅

Yes, they have the ABSOLUTE RIGHT AND FREEDOM to choose.

But I have let them know MY PREFERENCE. They don’t have to make the choices I made because I HAD NONE! They have. Hallelujah.

This is a more realistic and practical way to look at it.

~£ 72 * 20 working days = £ 1440 per month

~Minus 30% on taxes = £1008
~Minus average monthly rent of £600= £ 408
~Minus monthly utility bills (gas and water) @ £50 = £358
~Minus food/housekeeping per month @ £ 150 = £208
~Minus phone bill @ £38 = £170
~Minus transport @ £30 = £140

~£140 divided by 20 working days = £7 per day for leisure, savings, or sending back to your people in naija, so that they can come and join the hustle.

Omoh with this breakdown, shit ain't eazy over there.

How many British citizens leave the UK each year?

Each year more than 300,000 individuals leave Great Britain to start a new life overseas.

More Americans Move Abroad Every Year

The U.S. State Department estimates that number to be around 10 million in 2020, which is more than double the number of Americans residing overseas in 1999, when the same department reported it to be 4 million.12 Oct 2020

The idea of a better life abroad is an illusion. You will be chasing your tail until before you know it you are old and start missing Nigeria and the warm weather and food and familiar faces and no racism terribly.

Let me add a disclaimer. Not saying life in Nigeria is better or for anyone not to travel, but that either way we as Nigerians or Africans are in serious trouble because home and abroad there is no easy life anywhere for us and you can take that to the bank.

you wanted to know the reason why people are leaving?
Firstly i thank God on your behalf for His protection, go and ask those people that lost their love ones in the hand of kidnappers after paying a huge amount of money what they fill about this country.
Go and ask the family of a farmer who died in the hand of Fulani herders all because he was guarding his farm how living in Nigeria means.Cost of living in this Country this days is unbearable for the masses and i hope you still remember vividly the issue of end SARS. after a year the government agree that they kill some potential leaders of tomorrow. Upon all this there is no sign of hope or better tomorrow, what we saw was that the old folks, 80 years old calming 69, that ruin this nation coming out again to clam power. you are now asking why people are leaving the country

Someone asked a question on Facebook “choose between 20million and Canada
I chose 20million
Then a man attacked me
Why would I go to Canada? Where I don’t have family I can stay with, where I don’t have enough money to sustain me for 3months at least
The man said Nigeria top the most insecure country and I replied that Nigeria is one of the most poverty stricken country and I’m doing well for myself
I can’t just pick up and leave with no assurance
If with being a registered nurse, there must be a job for me already
95% of Nigerians in Canada don't have #20 million saving, so what the hell is the man blabbing about.

Warm weather? I can see you have never been to other west Africa countries before, because you will know they same weather like Nigeria.
They have better security and I don’t have to waste my money on generators.
Foods? That can be easily imported
Racism? Lol, Baba we have tribalism which is same as racism. Both are bad

Sadly a lizard in Nigeria will not get to America and turn into a crocodile.

Don't confuse yourself.

The lizard will definitely be healthy, run faster and have all the platforms to be big in size like the crocodile if he enter western world in a legal way and follow steps to go up the progress ladder.

The lizard in Nigeria is just living a suicide live everyday because if boys didn't killed it, old men can kill it. If that didn't happen, cars can kill it while crossing the road. Even animal like eagle or other birds can kill it here in Nigeria.

Infact the lizard can die of hunger. Some people are even desperate to kill, fry and it the lizard with their alpine and call it Bush lizard.

Peace

We told them in 2015, vote jonathan they said that is buhari they want. we tried our but they eventually won by some millions of vote.
2019 came, and we said this our chance to redemm what weve lost. yet again they said no that they want to cotinue with the hardship tagged "Next level shit" . IPOB then came and said we want to go they prostested NO saying Nigeria is non-negotiable.
Now they are brewing support for tinubu. some shouting okorocha who turned imo state to his family house while some are screaming OUK who went to prison and still has a corruption case to answer to.
And you expect me to continue with them.
japa is a thing, live with it.

You have no clue, travel first before forming a better opinion better than the one you have now based on hearsay. I will not be arguing with you if Nigeria or abroad is better because Ukraine and Malaysia is also abroad so go ahead and do you.

but what do you think?

Not all Nigerians abroad are into illegitimate jobs, in fact just like the majority of Nigerians living in Nigeria earn honest wages & businesses same is applicable to majority of Nigerians abroad.

Even in Nigeria, not all Nigerians are 1st citizens; majority of Nigerians living in Nigeria are living as 3rd class citizens in their own country…Yes, there is no place like home, but it is better to be a 3rd class citizens with more rights abroad, than to be a 3rd class citizen in your own home with few to no rights.

What you also forget is that, that menial job abroad is more than some manager jobs in Nigeria…that abroad menial job abroad feeds countless people and families in Nigeria, build projects that employ people. There are many office workers in Nigeria today paying rents to those abroad menial laborers.

The other thing about menial jobs either in Nigeria or abroad is not because the job is degrading or shameful….the pay is not there in Nigeria; Governments in Nigeria are not paying the common N18k minimum wage per month, that same menial and minimum wage abroad is about $15/hour…and if you work 8hrs a day, that is about N66k per day….. If menial jobs can guarantee even a mere N100k/monthly in Nigeria, people will rush them with zero shame.

Live appear to be valueless in Nigeria, there is nothing to write home about regarding the security situation.

So those perceived negatives you have highlighted regarding Nigerians living abroad also affects Nigerians living in Nigeria and more; so on a balancing scale, they equal each other or biased against the Nigerian living in Nigeria…..and those to the positives & benefits of living abroad and you will answer your question.

Even Governors, Presidents, politicians, rich men & women in Nigeria go in their thousands each year abroad to draw from those positivities & benefits.
