Who is a playmaker? A playmaker is typically the player who, with their acute vision, awareness of the game, passing skills, technique and ability to read the game sets the tone of the attacking play. Keen passing skills in order to orchestrate the flow of play are crucial – playmakers are often seen as the 'puppeteers' of the team. Notable No.10s include Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Eden Hazard, Johann Cruyff (though he wore 14 for the Netherlands) and Pele. I ask forumites,Who do you think can orchestrate our midfield from the game against Ghana going forward? |

Daninya33:I can only point to Nwakali TBH...the only downside being his poor stamina and off ball movement. Iwobi too has good vision but he gased out too often, Aribo is more like a B2B and not a playmaker. Etebo is similar to Aribo... energetic B2B I've not really watch enough of Amoo so I can't say Alhassan Yusuf is like a Kante... Onyedika and Onyeka are DMs 3 Likes 1 Share |

Joebie: Not quite. If the Eguavon is appointed coach it's going to be substantiative. He'll have to leave his role as technical director to manage the team while a new TD will be appointed. Don't forget his intervention during AFCON was interim. |

zuchyblink: Are you serious bro? So you want Abdalla Sima the striker that has played just 2 games for Stoke City all season to make the team ahead of who? Mane or Keita Balde? Or you want Pape Diop on loan at Dijon to come before Kouyate, or Joseph Lopy (Sochaux). Or even Moustapha Name? Krepin diatta better than ismaila Sarr? Or better than Mame Thiam? How can Boubakary Soumare that hasn't even played a game for senegal or can't make Leicester bench make the team ahead of Idrissa Gueye, Papa Gueye of Marseille and Nampalys Mendy? Are you trolling cox all these your yarns makes you sound like Mkpuri Mriri-ite.. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Subzero47: Moussa Dembélé is the first truly outstanding beyond comparison youth footballer I watched up close and personal. Fulham had brought him in from PSG at about the age of 15/16. He was head and shoulders above everybody at the time . When he wanted to leave Fulham he had numerous EPL clubs trying to sign him. But he chose Celtic. At one stage Chelsea put in a bid for £50million and he decided to stay at Celtic and develop. He was outstanding in French league one and has been a consistent top goal scorer throughout his career. Until he went to Athletico Madrid, a very defensive side that l don't think plays to his strengths. Are you really calling him a Carpenter ❓ 1 Like |

drDoom3: Your sources are very wrong. In training Osimhen was getting bullied and dominated and couldn't cope with the Physicality. Ighalo was dominating him clearly in training. Rohr even said at the time he was too lightweight. Indeed his first game in the AFCON 2019 for third place he was very poor. |

Daninya33: It seems you are making your deduction on YouTube video clips, I will tell you for outfield players that approach is fraught with all kinds of problems. Amoo was playing in the Swedish league rated 23 in Europe he has now gone to FC Copenhagen Denmark league rated 19 in Europe. He was very good in that Swedish league but it doesn't always translate that he will perform at a more competitive league. He needs to prove himself first and preferably in a better league. So he is showing potential let's see. It's too early for a SE call up. 1 Like |

Daninya33: I think the days of having a playmaker are essentially over, football has moved on. Players play multiple roles and are not pigeon holed in to just one position. What we need is HARD WORKING quality Midfielders. Not pretender's, how can you be playing in midfield and you do not track back, intercept, tackle and drive forward non stop for 90 minutes. No manager will sign such a player in any top team. Have you seen Bissouma of Brighton and Hove look at his work rate but what caps it ,is his ability to go from defensive to offensive in one move. No wonder everybody wants him. 3 Likes 2 Shares |
