I don't know if they take every noc, plus you have to score high in their rating system. Sha go to their site, read up on 'eligibility' and then simulate your score. I think their cutoff is over 70 points these days.

You already said your noc is basically ignored, so your chance of getting pnp is low.

If you pass TEF, update your score and wait for FSW, if at anytime any province starts inviting your noc, you can always remove the TEF to take your score back to 459.

Since you've already studied French, it will be a waste not to take TEF. You can consider the OINP French speaking stream if it returns.

The first FSW draw would probably take everyone in the pool above 500 (last time I checked they weren't too many) and you wouldn't want to miss that.

Hi guys…been following this Canada immigration thread since 2020…..but not actively participating because I’m not yet in the pool…here’s why….which would lead to my questions….pls share your experience

So I and my husband started our masters in 2018 and were hoping to be done by 2020 …it’s a par time MBA so it’s 2 yrs… we were so hopeful to join the pool in 2020….then COVID happened and unilag ,most schools sha calendar scattered…..long story short… we should be done by September 2022…latest 2023 …:.but it’s seems like a long time to weight considering that we would both be turning 30 this yr….
And I’ve been following this thread and it doesn’t seem like there has been an ITA the whole of 2021 till now…I may be wrong sha…..I already applied to get BCS done this April…..but we are not sure about our fate with the express entry…..only been seeing provincial nomination story….
Don’t know much about the success rate for pnp…pls enlighten me
Also because of the age factor, we are considering going via study route…..which leads to my second question…can we apply to study for an Msc In Canada this yr and join the pool from there…or get a work after that……….or just be patient about joining the pool latest next yr?

The essential thing is to join the pool NOW. Take IELTS, evaluate whatever degree you have and join the pool. The CEC people who got ITA with CRS 75 in Feb 2021 were able to apply for PR because they were in the pool. It's likely many others didn't bother to create a profile, probably waiting to get higher CRS scores. The difference between a Masters and two degrees does not warrant a wait of 1yr to join the pool, even before you do your BCS you can join the pool.

Even if you plan to go the study route, just be in the pool. It is only a profile in the pool that can get an express entry PNP nomination. You can always edit your profile, improve your IELTS scores, add your Masters, do TEF etc..

FSW is not starting yet is what everyone is saying, BUT if they do a surprise draw now, only profiles in the pool will potentially benefit....

Pls thoroughly digest page 1 too.

The reason for my rejection is because I used a Muslim marriage certificate, which I believe is insufficient resulted to rejection. I intend to resubmit another application because my nomination has not yet expired. I presently reside in Qatar and am unsure how to obtain a marriage certificate from the Federal Government. Is there a way to get it without having to travel to Nigeria? I would greatly appreciate your help.

You could paste the contents of the rejection letter if you are comfortable but I suspect your application may have been rejected because the certificate was not translated to English from Arabic not because it was it was a Muslim marriage certificate. Nikkai/nikkah/mosque marriage certificates seem to be acceptable and have been used by many for PR.

Was it written in Arabic? If so, did you provide a translation as well as the original certificate?

Please if one's spouse went missing...as in..went out and never came back till date, no contact for ransom or whatsoever, no news, nothing nothing. What category will this person choose in marital status? Choosing "married" will require that the spouse take part in the medicals. Choosing widowed is not sure or guaranteed. And children are involved too

Sorry to hear this.

Best to ask a lawyer or two...but I suspect you can choose married and provide evidence to show the spouse is missing e.g. missing person's police report filed at the time. Maybe an affidavit from yourself and spouse’s close relatives/employer or newspaper publication.
