Sensational reporting without any iota of evidence.
1) The reporter didn't confirm wether the guy is actually a doctor.
2) Appendix is clearly different from the ovaries. If he is a doctor, he will definitely know.
3) Absence of ovaries on routine ultrasound scan does not mean the doctor removed the ovaries. Sometimes, the person doing the ultrasound may be inexperienced etc Will he remove the two ovaries at the same time? The worst thing that could have happened was that he would remove the right sided ovary where the appendix is usually located. He won't likely have access to the left ovary so that one will be intact. If the left ovary is intact, why won't she menstruate? She may be having primary ovarian failure that is not related to the surgery.
By and large, reporters should stop this kind of one sided reporting without full investigation. The doctor won't be able to respond because you have to maintain confidentiality regardless of the accusation. He will only be able to discuss details with a properly constituted medical inquiry. Stop online accusation without finding out facts

Not to vilify MDCN or anything, but I can bet you that the person involved in this isn't a Medical Doctor.
Benue state is filled with a lot of fake ass quacks parading as Medical Doctors, deceiving pple and committing all sort of atrocities with people's lives. It's a very big menace in the state, and I'm speaking from personal experience having undertaken my NYSC in the state.
I still faulter MDCN because I believe they're not doing their job very well as a regulatory body. They are so engrossed with billing the Doctors that alot of quackery go uncheckmated and people keep dying from such. It's really a very sad situation.

I really pity the young lad, If not for long distance i would've ordered for the parent to bring the girl to my wife to place her on treatment for fertility growth, they can only pay after they have seen the result of treatment, my wife based in Port Harcourt, River State.

All these kind news sef . appendix has nothing to do with ovaries and is one of the easiest sugeries. The girl is suffering from something else...may be a secondary complication from appendicitis.nothing will happen to the doctor.instead of them to run to a specialist fast them dey play blame game.

Thank you so much for this. I'm not even surprised. Our regulatory bodies really need to do better. People shouldn't be getting away going beyond the limits they were licensed to.
How CHEWs in Nigeria came to become Surgeons is one of the many wonders of our wonderful Nigeria.... Surgery that even fully licensed Drs still undertake some training before they start to attempt one

This incident happened in my area where I live and work.The so called"Doctor"isn't anything close to a doctor.He is rather a community health worker.Here in Benue state even a patent medicine operator is labeled and called a doctor by our people.Often times, the so called doctors perform all kinds of medical operations
