After seeing forwards like Vincent Abubakar open the tournament, I knew we were going to miss Osimhen, didn't know to what extent though
nairalandankrah:

We had no Osimhen!, He would've made a huggeeee difference with his pressing

I expressed my fears when Ighalo's participation was jittery.
I expected NFF and Eguaveon to pay a fine and include Dessers but probably they don't think he was good enough.

There are some chances we couldn't convert that Dessers would have converted.

It's so painful our NFF and coaches only watches YouTube highlights. I watch and follow Cyriel Desser anytime because he's a type of Osimehn for me. Simply because of the technicality. Technicality is very very vital in picking a sticker.

Eguavoen defends his tactics against Tunisia
Seyi Alao

Coach Austin Eguavoen has defended his decision to start Super Eagles 2021 African Cup of Nations round of 16 games with same formation and players.

The blew opponents away in the Group phase, but their stay in the tournament ended prematurely when they fell to Tunisia in the round of 16.

The Tunisians nullified the attacking threat of the Super Eagles, before they took the lead in Garoua after Maduka Okoye made a mess of Youssef Msakni’s shot.

Eguaveon reacted and threw on Alex Iwobi for ineffective Kelechi Iheanacho, but game flipped on its head when the Everton man was shown a straight red card for a dangerous.

Despite the two unfortunate incidents (Maduka’s goalkeeping error and Iwobi’s red card), it was agreed that Eguaveon’s tactics and team selection were predictable — hence, it was easier for the Tunisians to execute a counter game plan.

However, Eguaveon disagreed and was adamant he approached the game with right tactics and insisted he would have been vindicated but for the unfortunate red card.

“We approach games with the personnel available and the reaction of the opponent. It’s not about 442 or 433, it doesn’t always have to do with the system; it’s having 11 players working together; defending and attacking together.“

“I think the red card we got also affected us, but we managed to respond, and unfortunately we couldn’t get the needed goal. “

Asked about the tactical switch after the Super Eagles were reduced to ten men, Eguaveon said:

“It also brought the best out of the boys, in fact when we were reduced to 10 men, our boys operated more. So it wasn’t always about tactics and overtime games between Nigeria and Tunisia are very close and the records will show it; that game could have gone either way on that day we were just unlucky. ” He Concluded.

This january, Napoli rejected Conte's 70£ million offer for Osimhen... Nonetheless, Tottenham have vowed to go all out for him during the summer and have already tabled an offer of 83 million, which Napoli have ALSO REJECTED

Overconfident team without prolific striker and playing through Simon. Im not saying wing football is bad after all Liverpool do such. But the so called winger must understand when to quit dribbling and when to play with the team. God bless Vinicius Jr. Choi

See the massive leap Tijani hv made so far but our over hyped maestro still can’t find his feet in the Spanish 2nd tier

This is the player that him and his family were all involved with NFF senior official who literally became his proxy agent by coercion.

He doesn't look 19 he looks a lot younger.

I remember that this particular official was involved in trying to control the MRI results.

It seems despite all the controversy he is supposedly doing well. He needs to play for Liepzig to progress.

No doubt considering his youth football pedigree he will be playing for the SE soonest no matter what.

Chelsea got lukaku and he hasn’t really impress so far and they won’t go for another Seria A striker

Not true.

Kalu and Dennis have very similar talents. Dennis is slightly better because is like a Jota, can even play CF. He has like 3 headed goals this season.

Kalu has better dribbling and generally a more exciting footballer, Dennis has been good this season but before that Kalu has generally been better than him

better than him on what basis? Can you bring their stats before this season for all to see?

Dennis is a better player any day any time than kalu. Maybe cus kalu is first known and popular to you guys because of the regular playing he had under rohr before his injury worries

Dennis is a weapon any team pray to hv. He can dribble, create and score as well, his stats right from his days in Belgium to the epl currently tops that of kalu
