Just like the Democratic Party censured Sinema

Over the weekend, the Arizona Democratic Party voted to formally censure one of its own -- Sen. Kyrsten Sinema -- after she opposed changing the filibuster rules to allow major voting rights legislation to pass the Senate with just 50 votes.

You are too shallow to comprehend complex social phenomenon as it relate to ID card issue. Unfortunately, you have shown you lack capacity or unwilling to learn. Nobody will waste their time to educate you. Continue to stew in your ignorance!

I don't think people are giving enough credit to Pence for saving US democracy.
Trump and his fellow coup plotters were banking on Pence to refuse to certify the elections, and the mob taking over the Capitol building causing chaos and probably killing a few lawmakers particularly Pelosi. Then in the ensuing Chaos, Biden could not be sworn on January 20th. And with Pelosi out of the way Trump continuation as president would have been a fait accompli.

It is a truly amazing (and frightening) thing that that man (Trump) could have even mustered as much support as he did - because that shows up the dark underbelly of the soul of America. It shows up the barely restrained hatred and racism that still lurks in many a white American heart.

And what is even scarier is the support he receives from some people of color including Africans in Africa. Nothing speaks more damningly of the effect of religion in robbing the mind.

I lean left, but I dont think anything can justify standing against IDs for elections. Its only common sense. Even here in vastly retarded Nigeria we use PVCs. How would you feel if a section of the country rose up in arms against the use of PVCs?

Hmnn...They're here. Election is around the corner and they need to make money. Manipulative, mind-twisting and coercive. Evil, yet subtle. You can deceive only those whose mind have been blinded to the truth. Worry not, people are majorly wiser now. They know the truth!

Pence does not deserve any credit, he came 13 months late after finding it difficult to stand up to the former guy, it took Dan Quayle to remind Pence that the VP had no such power to overturn an election. Pence is no saint if it were within his powers he would have done it.
I don't know why he took him this long to slightly rebuke his old boss who sent a mob to hang him.

I am wondering what if the insurrectionist had their way and hung Mike Pence as they were chanting on January 6th would Donald Trump still be a free man today holding rallies, would the republiQan party still be sucking up to the former guy and worshipping him while rebuking Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney, would they have the guts to call it a "legitimate political discourse" in a nutshell would they have had shame to rebuke Trump, Gaetz, Taylor Greene, Boebarts, the Cawthorn's and other crazy radicals in their party? Hmmm
I hope the democrats work very hard to retain the senate and house this midterm because there will soon be a Supreme Court vacancy after Ginni Thomas ruins her husband's career her role in the January 6th insurrection should be a focus of the DOJ if it isn't already.

News lately about this woman will tarnish her husband very soon so many conflicts of interest with Justice Thomas.Remember he dissented against the J6 committee accessing Trump's records from the National archive his wife had a role on January 6th.

I can't believe that the late Justice Thurgood Marshall was replaced by someone who would ruin his legacy as Amy Coney Barrett would do with the late RBG's legacy. Many black Americans don't even see Justice Thomas as a representative of them.

No no don't do this, this is exact narrative they are spreading to rebrand Pence, he has no powers to overturn elections if he decided to move mad it wouldn't stand, he will infact end up etching his name in infamy for life, Trump probably thought Pence was stupid enough to act like he wanted.

Trump was the messiah for morrons, gambojimeta?
I think the 'morrons' were far wiser than the twitter wokeciles.

High Crime Wave
High Inflation
High Gas Prices
Empty Grocery Shelves
Wide Open Borders
Belligerence and Bellicosity from Rival Powers.

Great dividends of woketocracy from the alternative to "the messiah."

He was not asked to overturn the elections. He was only required to acknowledge the fake alternate electors and refer the matter back to the states, with the excuse that the states presented 2 sets of electors. All Trump wanted was for Pence not to ratify the elections on January 6th. If pence did not ratify the election that day, then the US would have been in a constitutional crisis. Trump just wanted to create chaos to prevent Biden from being ratified.

Use of PVC for election in Nigeria only confirms backwardness of Nigeria. Even with PVC, elections are still rigged. Right?

The issue of photo ID is not about leaning left or right. It is mainly whether it disadvantages a group or groups in the society. Put differently, any policy that disproportionately affect a group for whatever reason (beyond election), without mitigation, is discriminatory. Any policymaker in developed countries knows this. Please, stop using Nigeria as a Yardstick of a normal and functional society.

Proponents of photo ID use for election present it as if its the only means of verification when in actual fact one's identity has been verified even before registration. You can ask why 'use of photo ID will disadvantage a group or certain groups? After all it is only ID? Absolutely, that is why it is a complex social issue. But, does that make it a non-issue? Absolutely not! I personally would wish everyone has valid photo ID because I have plenty. But, I also know that is me interpretating the society through my lens to the world.

Let me ask you, why is there absentee voting? Why is there mail balloting? Should everyone not be able to cast their votes on election day?
Government could have said if you can't physically cast your vote, then nothing for you. How would those working away, the sick etc vote? Hence, inclusion and adjustment to accommodate those in these category.

Broadly, state (in a democracy) should be seen to promote increase participation across board. At least, we can agree on this!

The insurrection planners were aware that Pence could not be hanged. With the number of secret service officers guarding Pence, there would have been a blood bath before pence was harmed. They just wanted to disrupt the proceedings.

Thanks for this reasoned response ... I may respond in detail later as I am on the road. But for now you really have to bear in mind that among the "complex social issues" which you raise is the very real "complex" issue that resisting IDs will rightly be seen by many as a desire to rig elections.

IDs are used for virtually everything. Banking. Flying. Even to have an alcoholic drink. How much more to choose decision makers over the future.

There cannot really be any sound argument against IDs. Note that rather than present one, you merely said it's a complex matter. That's a weak response. You should get down to the exact complexities and show what's problematic with it.
