Storage heater in the palour, barely used. Normal heater in the room, turns off when the room is quite warm. Can't wait for winter to be over.

Therein lies the problem! Does your meter have two readings ie a day and night reading? If your accommodation has storage heaters you should be on the economy 10 tariff and not the standard tariff.

On economy 10, you will have two tariffs. One for the night which is usually cheaper and a standard day tariff. The storage heaters will be wired to the night tariff while the rest of your appliances will be on the standard tariff. The storage heaters are meant to charge up during the night when electricity is cheap and then release heat during the day. They should be on 24/7 so they can charge up when electric is cheap but you can set them to release the heat at certain times of the day.

I used to live in a 3 bed all electric house with 3 storage heaters and my monthly DD was less than £120. I think you need to have a conversation with your landlord and electric provider.

Yeah, quite a sad story, but you maybe surprised that, that room was assigned to the Nigerian by a NIgerian/Indian or even an arab agent who wanna own a castle and drive the lastest racing car in a foreign land.

Most schools in eastern europe(Russia, Ukraine, Belarus), you get admissions through an "agent/school representative", now these agents or school representatives have hostels/rooms they can assign to their students on arrival, furthermore, based on whatever outrageous sum they are able to extort from you would determine the condition of accommodation you are given on arrival, as such the next door room might have been in a worse shape.

That the Nigerian student's association, Nigerian diplomatic missions there are numb leads me to suspect that a greedy countryman there may have been the bad actor/actress in these. So might not have been a case of racism but act of wickedness from a soul who has no regards for Life.

Many new travellers spent all their time focusing on getting a visa and little time on how to survive in a foreign land, Many will come here to ask question about accommodation after getting a visa, bought ticket then they will come here to ask how to get a place or if there is job in that city.

You also have to be careful about what you say to someone that has never travelled before else it will be tagged as discouragement.

Ukraine is a dead-end country that has very little to offer foreign students.

People have tried to here but they see them as bullied or been rude or too proud. So its better to leave them to their fate. Whatever they meet they should accept.

Authorities have been known to fail for ages and I think it happens in every country. My bicycle tyre got flat amd ripped out from.the rim while trying to manage it inside the Bbush while going to work early Sunday morning around 6.15am. I was so confused and ran to the nearest houses knocking dia doors so that I can atleast keep the bike safe.

Behold this woman came out to not only keep my bike but to drop me at work .

you know for instance the ECO for UK would say the ONUS is on the applicant, in eastern europe the ONUS is on the agents, and if you fall into the wrong one, you would never recover your destiny... from first day of school until graduation you pay every dime bill through the agent's account not the school..

If you want your pain level to increase, just try to establish who was the late student's agent? If ain't a Nigerian then the diplomatic missions there need to leave. The Nigerian agent who may have been involved may have even promised that poor soul a palace on arrival

You can imagine. Things are happening now, times have changed, people are a lot nicer. I use to think covid added to the change, but I think it’s just understanding that there is no difference other than complexion. Just ask for help. Someone said you should expand your search to paisley. That’s a good one. Just check the distance and be sure it won’t affect you in any way. But that’s the best bet now, the house shortage has been on for some months now. Also you can manage paisley and still be searching in Glasgow.
