I only love the fact that it helps preserve our culture and preserve our native heritage. And for those who work in firms that allows it only on weekends, it gives opportunity to those who like appearing on white collar attires to try something different. And most of them tends to love it with time.

I have this friend of mine that can spend thousands on just pairs of polo and jeans. Had to make dude learn to rock senator wears and simple native wears, today nigga visits the tailor almost every weekends to collect his newly sown wears. He get native pass me now self

We were taught culture is a way of life of a people...

I don't think it's that important,but perhaps it's a way of reminding ourselves that we are Africans...And also a way of celebrating our culture and traditions..

There are some things we see but don't even know why it is the way it is

It doesnt necessarily have to be native. It's called dress-down day meaning, to be on any casual outfit which could be in the form of native or other causual outfits like jeans and t-shirts or sleek dresses.

Now, it's not all companies that dress-down on Fridays and for those who do, it's not mandatory. you can choose not to and no sanctions on that.

Fridays seems like a less busy and short day of the week ( for some, not all companies) ; also the beginning of the weekend. So, I guess dressing down is just a way of easing the previous days stress and saying TGIF to Kickstart the weekend. My thoughts though.

For me, I do jeans on tops or native depending on my mood. Other times I do corporate. So, no biggies.
