I just spoke with one of the agents. He said just be on the lookout. We Nigerians really need to change. Why would someone go ahead and book for interview waiver appointment when clearly not eligible. We just like to mess up good things!!

Please I was meant to go for interview on January 27th 2022 but 7 days to my interview I got a mail that it has been shifted to July ending 2022 . It was bi/b2 .please what could be the reason for d postponment and what do I do? can I send a mail that the date is too far ??

I've tried 3 times today (Spaced out over two hours) and I'm getting "You're approaching the maximum number of times" message SMH.
So I guess I have to try 3 times a day everyday, till I get a slot. Fed up

Hello everyone, I am based in Abuja and the drop box interview waver option is yet to start here. I will will no longer be eligible for drop box after March so I am wondering if I should apply through Lagos .

If so, how do I go about it , does it mean once I secure an appointment date , I would need to go to Lagos to drop off .

Prior to the U.S lifting their restrictions on drop-box, I have booked for my visa renewal application and I have a date for May 2023.

With the lifting of the restrictions, I am qualified to apply / renew my F1 visa with the drop-box.

My question is that can I do so with the previous application fees I had paid for my appointment in 2023? or do I need to pay another fee for the drop box?

Also, would i be needed to fill another application or the application I had completed earlier for my 2023 date will suffice for the drop box.

Any insights would be appreciated.

You do not need to pay new application fees or fill a new application form.
All you need to do is go to the CGI page to cancel your old appointment and book a new Interview Waiver (IW) appointment. They'll ask some questions to check if you qualify for interview waiver before you are directed to the IW booking calendar. So be sure you qualify first before you cancel. The criteria is listed on the Embassy's website.
Also note that as at yesterday, there were no IW dates available but a few people have booked today. So don't panic if there are no dates available. Keep checking, but not more than 4 times a day so that they don't freeze your account for 72 hours.

But on the of my interview. The VO said that the category I went for is wrong.

I was planning to go back this year again. so which category will I go for?

Yhe very time I posted. I was checking and logging out, once every 40 minutes. Check-log out immediately .

I checked at about 3.30 am and also checked a few minutes ago, nothing else . I pray I get a slot before end of March as I will no longer be eligible from April . Do you think people with close window may be given a priority cos it appears we may lose our visa fees if we don't get an interview date within a year and I hear normal interview dates are not available till 2024.

i got a slot around 1pm yesterday and I checked more than 7 times sef. But note that I

I think that's for paid temporary work in entertainment. Musicians, artists, comedian etc

If you will be paid then b1/b2 is not the right visa for you . You will need a visa that falls under performance artist and that's P Visa. To get this visa your employer needs to file a petition for you over there in the USA and when the petition is approved by USCIS you can then apply for a visa at the American embassy or consulate.
