level10: You can use it to drive in the UK for 1 year following the date on which you became a UK resident. If it expires before then, then of course it can't be used to drive even if you have not yet reached the 1 year anniversary of your becoming a UK resident. |

CheesyTee: Yes, starling Bank is okay to show proof of funds, holds the same weight as your BOS statement. I find that when downloading statements from traditional high street banks, logging in online is your best bet. It is one of the many limitations of their mobile app, compared to pure online banks such as monzo and starling bank. I am able to specify search dates on my business BOS account and download, I'll expect personal current account to have the same function. |

elisinho: Left to me, Azure Its more GUI friendly than AWS and you'll easily understand the concepts better Me thinks, Azure fundamentals, then AWS CCP (AWS has more market share than Azure but I don't think that'd last for long) I know because I have written > 9 Azure/ M365 certs. Btw you can get the vouchers for Azure free if you attend their training day lectures. AWS Ccp and SAA vouchers also free via Amazon's training for women / general exam stuff you can sign up for 3 Likes 1 Share |

CheesyTee: Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think you are meant to use an online print out for visa application. You should phone the bank/ go in person and request a statement for the specified date. The statement should have the bank letter head and the address as well as your home address. |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Nobody: 10:44am On Feb 06, 2022 |
Peerielass: Uk banks have those on their pdf. When you download you will see all those things. Starling bank will ask if you want it be signed if you click yes. It will download everything. You don't need to go to the bank to request for letter head. 4 Likes |

I am having a challenge with my electricity supplier due to the bills am getting. I live in a 2 bedroom flat and I used electricity for everything including heating. My first and second bill are over £300 monthly and I 've told the electricity supplier am not paying it because it's outrageous. My boiler is on auto so we used heating for only 11 hours a day especially at night when we are back from school and work. We 've checked the meter and it records I consumed about 1,000 kWh in a month. The funny thing is that the heating is only on in the sitting room and one of the bedroom. Me and the kids sleep in one room in order to reduce cost of heating. I have already switched to edf on a fixed rate which we come into effect as from the 20th of this month. Please anybody with experience should let me know if it's ok to consume that much kWh in a month and what's the process with sorting out a faulty meter which am suspecting? |

Peerielass: Yes, you can use downloaded PDF versions of bank statement for visa as it is the same as the bank will post out to you. Most banks encourage their customers to go paperless these days. As long as it shows your name, address, account details, transactions and branch address you are fine. No one in the branch has the time to issue paper statements with stamps anymore. |

aragbaboy:call them and then change to fixed direct debit. Alternatively, you can ditch them and look for another energy company and do fixed direct debit, it shouldn't be more than $130 per month. You need to also factor in the tariff hike in April 1 Like |

aragbaboy: If you suspect your meter is faulty, your supplier is required to test the meter ........... A previous resident, could have tempered with the meter, leading you into this payback/clawback schedule......... On the other hand, you use electricity for everything (cooking, washing, drying, heating, devices) etc etc Are your devices graded A or G .......... If you use, you must pay o ...... No be Nigeria (they would take you to court, and seek redress)....... The start of defaults & CCJ's ......... |

Please I need some enlightenment especially from those who have invited families on a visit visa; When applying for visit visa, there was an advice on here that says one mention that the visitor will only be here for a couple of weeks. How do you justify this at the POE when you have booked return ticket that shows visitor will be here for months? Also at the point of re applying for another visa, Hope they will not deny on the basis that the first time you stayed more than the length of time you filled in? (Although I'm guessing they will only deny overstayers but please enlighten me) |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Lexusgs430: 12:09pm On Feb 06, 2022 |
tushqueen: Let's assume you apply for a 6 months visa, it's valid for 6 month's........ At the POE, it could be a question asked, but would not constitute any reason for cancellation........ Just ensure they only stay for under 6 month's........ 1 Like |
