From the link you dropped below, kindly find that Western Community College is one of the designated learning colleges in British Columbia.

mrprolifik:

When applying to a college or a University in Canada to study and hope to apply for a PGWP after studies it is important to confirm if it is a designated learning institution and secondly if international graduates from that college or university are eligible for post graduation work permit ( for those interested in applying for pgwp). The bottom line is not all designated learning institutions in Canada are eligible for PGWP but all PGWP eligible institutions are designated learning institution.
Below is a link to help you check if the school you intend to apply to will be able to qualify you for PGWP after studies . All you need to do after clicking is select the province where the school is located and search for the school and find if they qualify or not.

Hello Atigba

I am sure you already know the answer to your question considering the state of our country Nigeria..

Throwing back to 2012- 2013, getting Canadian study Visa was not an issue at all.. People do not have to develop high Blood pressure cos of Canada study Visa, it was almost certain you would get it.. Those times, you do not even have to pay a kobo for school fees before you are issued a study Visa, your LOA was enough, even POF wasn't taken with all seriousness the way it is now .. But so many Nigerians, or should I say Africans took this for granted, they get their Study Visa, get to Canada and refuse to study and they claim Asylum, the government give them all they want, they don't even need to work..

Until when IRCC got to know about this, that was when all these strict rules, delayed application started.. Now from 2016 till date, many Nigeria applicants submit Fake Statement of account with their application all thanks to the counsel of these Evil Visa agents, reason for the reoccurrence of PFL amongst Nigeria applicants..

So IRCC has actually marked Nigeria and many Africa countries in it's black book, so any Nigerian applicant is a suspect..

So that is why they do their thorough "Investigation" on every Nigeria applicant to see if nothing fraudulent is attached with the study permit application. That is why it takes longer for any Nigeria or African applicant in general to get a final decision from IRCC.. They will need to be thorough with these application cos they are very careful with the kind people they allow in their country, that is why Canada is one of the best countries in the world, that is why the country is safe for all, cos they are mindful of the people they allow into their country..

Permit me to say that we are the ones that caused this for ourselves, with the rate at which scam and fraudulent activities are rampant in Nigeria, no country needs to be told that they have to be through on Nigeria applicants, so no one can blame them..

Just imagine if all these Yahoo boys or applicants that use fraudulent Statement of Accounts, just imagine if they are many in Canada, you know what the end result will be..

Lemme stop here for now..

Peace
Atigba:
I have noticed here it takes alot of time for a study permit visa application to be processed in Nigeria.

Why is it so?.

Is it peculiar to Nigerians or Africans only?.

Because, when I did my biometric in Stockholm today. I asked the babe how many months to process my study permit application. She said 4 weeks maximum.

I also noticed they don't ask for medical and police report in EU.

Why are they giving applicants from Nigeria headache.

I’m still surprised as to why they didn’t ask me for police report before my visa was approved and they said background check passed.

Repeating what I wrote earlier.
All PGWP eligible colleges or universities are designated learning institutions but not all designated learning institutions are eligible for PGWP. Read that again and understand properly.
Western community college is a designated learning institution but graduates from that college are not eligible for PGWP after studies. Now go back to that page you uploaded and look to the far right on the same line the school is listed to check if you find a YES or NO. If yes then you can apply for PGWP if you graduate from that college if No then you can't. So go back to that link and check again.

Thanks for your input on this matter. But one can always change to another school that is eligible for PGWP after arriving Canada right?

Police Report is also not compulsory for Applicants from Nigeria.

Many has been approved without it.
I think it’s only needed if you have travel histories…

But it’s not a compulsory document.

1. What if I don’t add him? But still change my school??

2. Because honestly I understand people wanting me to pay the 2.7m school fees I won’t be using in the future, but it’s a lot of money.

3. If I don’t add him but change my school and re apply for the visa, then he applies for Sowp. Would that work?

4. Please did you get your ppr without paying the tuition deposit?

I numbered your write up to provide good response to each to the best of my limited knowledge and experience.

1 and 3. The only thing that can guarantee Canada student visa is when you have it. Not your statement of account, profile, etc. Those help and if increase your chances if you do them right. However, you can do everything right and still not get it. You are lucky you didn't experience that with your first app.

2. You are complaining about 2.7m and not the opportunity you are about to let go. A bird in hand is better because it is guaranteed than thousands in the bush. Many are reading your response, probably poorer than you or your background, but saying "Chai, how I wish I fit transfer her visa to me and make I go waste that 2.7 on her behalf". The money may not waste if you can transfer the courses to your diploma. You should be able to transfer them if they are related courses. If they not, you will have explain to IRCC why you are going for unrelated course.

4. Tuition payment does not guarantee a student visa. It only suggest to the visa officer that you or your sponsor can afford to pay the tuition and have committed to doing that.

As your tuition payment deadline is near, time is ticking "tick tock." Your colleagues in the program are already attending classes and probably submitted some assignments. Your case dey pain me. I wish you the best sis.

There is no pros and cons anywhere

Use the new portal.

Old one is outdated.

This is my first time of applying for a visa in Canada and I was surprised they are still doing outdated application process of filling forms.

The new portal in Canada is what every advanced countries used for visa applications.

I have applied for a visa in so many western nations.

Again..use the new portal.

Thank you so much Sir. I have started raising webform daily and also ordered for gcm notes, though I have deferred my admission and have been offered another LOA. Do you think I should send the new LOA to them?

makano:
Hello blessing

You have every right to disturb them with mails informing them that your application is passed the processing time and your resumption date is getting close..

Send at least 5 mails day and night, everyday until you get a response. You can also order for your gcms notes while you are still waiting , that will also let you know what actually is causing the delay..

It may be that they are in need of an information or a document from you, and they haven't sent you the request yet.. So your Gcms notes will come in handy here..

So do as advised without relenting until you get a response from them.. Be consistent with the mails..

It will end in praise..

Peace

That will depend on the university and department you are applying to. If you want a guaranteed timeline, go for direct entry degree programs at polytechnics. A degree is a degree in Canada. Some employers actually prefer polytechnics, because of their practical approach, than universities.

Lemme ask, what your OND program and age?

The program I did in my ND is accounting and I'm 22 years

The program I did in my ND is accounting and I'm 22 years

22 is not too old for a bachelor's degree as long as you don't have study gap or you can account for your study gap.

University of Manitoba Accounting (Bcomm) has advance entry for people with one year or more post-secondary education (Deadine March 15).

Brock University has Bachelor of Accounting (4 years coursework and optional 16 to 20 months coop. The school may or may not allow advance entry.

University of Waterloo has a Bachelor of Accounting and Financial Management, offered as co-op program only.

It seems most undergrad Accounting degree programs are 4 years, and above $25,000 per year for tuition. A cheaper, shorter, and related alternative may be direct entry bachelor of business administration.

SAIT offers a related two-year Bachelor of Applied Business administration (one year coursework, $26,643, and two semesters of internship, $11,069). This program has a lot of Accounting courses and the internship is actually called "Direct Field Studies- Accounting 1 and 2." You can use your LOE and these course offerings to build a strong arugument for yourself. All the best.

Google flights. That is a website. To find it, type flights into Google search and it will show you the website. The website will show you prices for different dates and airlines. You can then open the airline website, confirm the price, and book it directly from the airline website.

The last instruction is particularly important if you are using airline like Ethiopian airline. They charge in naira at almost official exchange rate. So, they tend to be cheaper if you book from them directly rather than on Google flights, that might charge you CAD if you are in Canada. Airlines are also more flexible if you book it directly from them.

All the best.
