Dear Consular,

My name is ____________

I am an F-1 visa applicant with a current appointment date of _______.

I was accepted into the fall 2022 academic program. The start date on my I-20 is January 10 2022. However, I will need to be in school earlier before then as there will be an orientation programme for graduate students by January 06 2022

I request an earlier appointment date that would allow me to resume my academic program in the United States on time.

Kindly find my Form I-20, admission letter, Sevis ID and evidence of SEVIS fee payment attached.
Thanks

Regards.

Thanks so much for this reply GOD bless you, please can I make a request for the emergency now. because as stated on my I-20 form the *Earliest Admission date is 3rd of march* while the *Start of class is 4th of April 2022* it’s also stated in the admission letter that the student must be in the state ideally btw March 6 to March 16….
please I would like to know if I am eligible to request for the emergency now….

Thanks

The resumption date on your i20, 60days before it. That’s when you’re eligible to request for EA. The date on your i20, others na story to them.

I'm applying for a school in USA. I have filled the form and paid the application fee. Please what is the next step? I'm yet to get a message from the school

Which of the schools? Application against which session?

Fill form? Or you fill all the application process? Where you submitted this and that (Resume, Transcript and co).
After the filling and submission of all the requirements, you should receive email from the school that your application is now completed and you’re now to be on admission decision process.
Admission decision actually do take ‘time’, some 2weeks; 2months; 1week; 1month depending on the particular school.

So, you’ve to reach out to them to know if they receive your application and what next and/or how long are you to wait for decision.

PS: In this path, the best bet is to apply to minimum of 5 schools. So that expectation would be from “here and there” not just ‘here’, to avoid heartbreak. Lol.

Shalom!

Please can you share The GRE Materials with me

walepepe21:

Nice one! With this your unofficial WES Evaluation it shows you don’t graduate with a First class honor because if you do so it normally start from 3.70/4.0 with WES Evaluation irrespective of your last 60 CS.

What I am saying in Essence is that you have to work hard in both tests (GRE and TOEFL) so as to have a ramified, competitive and catchy application so that there won’t be a problem where with your great gpa you had a Gre score of 290 , TOEFL 79 you know it’s not perfect as it look mediocre to some TOP schools to even respond to your question at all.

So, try to balance it well by having a great GRE score and toelf. Success ahead !

No. You don’t need to submit before requesting. I do advise 1 month to interview day for filing on ds160. Because of how complicated the form is. Ds160 “plenty for mouth”, so please take your precious time to fill before submission.

Goodluck!

Good evening heroes in the house.I'm new here and I would like to ask some questions and from time to time I'll pose a question as I'm a newbie. Here are my questions: I'm currently a 200 level Law student with the passion to further my education in the U.S, Masters to be precise (J.D).(1) Is it possible for U.S Law schools to admit LLB into their J.D programme? (2) Is TOEFL compulsory? (3)What cgpa and standardized test score do I need to stand a chance? Thanks in anticipation for your kind response.

You need to attach the DS-160 as part of the forms when applying for an EA.

Albeit, I think you may still make some modifications on your DS-160 by filling another and updating the corresponding application ID on your cgi profile.

Additionally, you can still adjust your DS-160 max. of three(3) days before your interview if I’m not mistaken.

Cheers!

Hello has anyone mistakenly entered their expired passport number when paying for visa fee and how did you correct it.

Thanks

Thanks.

Moshkom:

The 60days EA application rule is the rule. Just wait! If you apply for EA before then, you would easily get an EA denial message after few mind of the EA application, e no hard them to send denial message. So calm down and wait!!!

Good luck

Kiiishiii:

EA is better 60 days before your school resumes. Not many schools resume in May so there is no rush for dates. Just calm down and follow the rules. Do not mess your application up. You can only apply for EA on a CGI account I think maximum of 2 times

Don’t stress it. Just go to the embassy with both Passports. As it should even be on a norm.

Welcome to this path.

Personally, I don’t know much about Law.

So,:

2) Not really. Reason being you’re from a country where English is their major language. Like, 6/10 schools would easily waive English test for you, since you’re a Nigerian. But you can write and have it to boast your profile.

3) The best bet is to have anything 3.0 and above on a scale of 4.0. But still it’s USA, we’ve schools that go low as far as accepting 2.75 and above, but sincerely on a scale of 4.0 is what most (not all) schools works on.
Ofc, most 9ja schools works on 5.0 scale, you don’t have to worry about that, there are bodies of result evaluation that convert your results for you to 4.0 scale.

PS: Make sure you finish school with good grade.
