Seeing this pictures took me back

When NIGERIA was still a country and a home.
those days when
We never had too much but life was fun and peaceful.

Love and fear of God existed

Neighbors were like family

Death : was not rampart, we hardly hear that someone died
If by mistake we heard that someone is dead we will be afraid to even come outside or pass the street where the person died.

Robbery : was not common
Those days we could sleep outside till day break and no nothing will happen to us

Ritual : killing maybe existed but we only imagined it we were not sure cos no one could come out n say they saw it happed.

War: we only hear it news in other countries not here in Nigeria
Nigeria was calm n peaceful.

Religion : Christians n Muslims
Had each others back

Tribe : it was never an issue cos we were one.

Politics : came n distroyed us , divided, made us enemies

We fight eachother for the interest of a criminal politician who
Will loot n still kill directly or indirectly.

There was a country call nigeria now i remember .

Psalmspsalms:

Think of 20-30 years back. Think of the level of underdevelopment in some parts of the world. Development comes with a price. It doesn't matter who or where the price is paid from.
You're right,
Human pains and sacrifice is the price of development
If lye in rivers didn't melt dead bodies thrown in them couple centuries ago, we would have never discovered soap

It was my job to wash the 7 lamp globes we had then. After which dad would inspect them thoroughly. RIP daddo. You were the best.

And if you mistakenly break it, it is finished for you.

The secret to making it look sparkling clean is to rinse it with enough clean non soapy water.

It’s actually terrifying.

Every responsible man stops enjoying life significantly when he has a family of his own. (Note the word responsible).

Very nostalgic BUT like someone said here, I will roll with today's technology than those days. Imagine going to Nitel and paying crazy fees JUST to speak to your relatives for JUST 5 Minutes? Imagine it took avg 2-3 weeks JUST to send a letter abroad?imagine you can travel for hours to visit someone JUST to find out that they weren't home because there was no means of communication to let them know that you were coming With WhatsApp, you can even see who you are talking to instantly for FREE, you can send documents , make copies via mobile phone emails for FREE, know about any companies thru internet for FREE today. Nostalgic BUT today's tech has made life easier with no extra financial cost abeg!
Lol.. I concur, do you still remember when we use coins to phone at phone booths? Early 2000 things

I remember taking N20 from my grandma's pillow, I felt i had a right to it because my Dad was the one always giving her the money anyways but the issue was not about me taking the money, its just that I spent and spent and spent and spent and the money refused to finish and I did not want to go home with any of it. N20 was such a big amount then I swear.
do you think you can finish #20 naira in a day,in 1990 when I was in secondary school in onitsha a plate of garri, better soup with two goat meat is #1naira 50kobo,this is a restaurant near orajis on awka road not a mama put, so imagine how you can be able to finish #20 naira or less you call your friends to help.
