The number does not work for me. It usually cuts in the middle. Has anyone been successful with it? amjustme2: |

Hi everyone, please what do I do in this case. While entering details for my visa payment . I mistakenly entered the expired passport number instead of the current one that has the expired USA visa in it. I have tried calling the embassy but it’s usually cuts before the answering machine says two words. Please does anyone know the right number to call for the Lagos Consulate. I have also sent them an email yesterday awaiting their response. I’m worried as this is the Dropbox option where you don’t have the chance to explain yourself except in a letter. Thanks |

Was this at the stage of booking IW submission appointment? if so, then just click on 'update profile' and try to correct the error. If it was in the DS160 form, simply access the old form you submitted and correct the error....although the system will generate a new DS160 number for you after this amendment...print the new page...and input this new number on the interview booking website using the 'update profile' option. I hope this helps BloodyMitch: |

No this is for making visa payment at GTBank online mobile app. So the mistake is on the receipt. I spoke to Abuja office, the guy there said it’s okay as long as I have the previous passport with me Dampops: 1 Like |

That was the condition stated on the email sent to me, and most other people. My earlier appointment was for February 3rd, 2022 but they sent a mail cancelling it and rescheduled it for August 2022...the following day, they now sent this IW email... seir405: |

Hi Everyone, Please I need your advice. I am about to fill out my ds 160 form and I read on the website that; your passport or travel document must be valid for at least six months after your arrival in the United states. My passport will expire on November 8th 2022 & I plan to have my interview in March. So I plan to Renew it between interview and travelling since it is still valid for about 9 months from now The question is, should I go ahead and start my application or hold on and apply for a new passport? Thanks in advance!!! |

I just got this email from the consulate: Good day, We are now entering the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic which continues to disrupt international travel. This is why we are piloting a new No-Interview Visa Renewal procedure for qualified visa applicants. Before coming to the Consulate, please double-check the following: Before you come for your No-Interview Visa Renewal appointment, please double-check the expiration date of your visa(s). To qualify for this procedure, your visa must have expired in the past 24 months (from the date of appointment) or will expire in the next three months. Every member of your family must meet the criteria individually, including having a visa that meets the expiration requirements. If not, you will not be allowed to submit your application. Because of the many appointment scheduling disruptions caused by the COVID pandemic many of you will have completed your DS-160 over six months ago. For this reason, we ask that you complete a new DS-160 if your current DS-160 is more than six months old. The updated and more accurate information about your personal situation and upcoming travel plans will assist us in avoiding delays in the processing of your visa application. If your DS-160 was completed more than six months ago, please complete a new DS-160 and ensure the new DS-160 number is added to your application profile. We will not be able to process your visa application if you do not submit an updated DS-160 before you submit your passport for the No-Interview Visa Renewal procedure. Children must meet the eligibility criteria individually and their parents must be applying via the No-Interview Visa Renewal procedure at the same time. Alternatively, parents can submit a copy of their valid visa(s) with their child’s application. We cannot accept a minor’s application unless their parents are also applying or they submit photocopies of their parents’ valid visas. Thank you for your cooperation. Sincerely, Help Desk 5 Likes |

You don't need to have booked an appointment already. The website clearly lays out the requirements. I know people who have booked their IW appointments and didn't have any prior interview scheduled. Qualifications for the Interview Waiver (IW) at the US Consulate in Lagos To qualify for interview waiver, visa applicants must be applying to renew a visa in the same classification as their prior nonimmigrant visa. Right now, this service is only available to applicants renewing a B1/B2, C1/D, F, M or J, H and L visa. Applicants must satisfy all the following criteria for their visa class. If applying as a group or family, all members must fulfill all criteria to qualify for interview waiver. Applicants who qualify for interview waiver in Lagos must visit this link to schedule an appointment to drop off documents at the US Consulate. Only applicants with scheduled appointments can drop off documents at the US Consulate. For B1/B2 or C1/D visa holders: the applicant must possess a full-validity B1/B2 or C1/D visa that expired within the past 24 months or will expire in the next three months. the applicant must be a citizen or resident of Nigeria. the applicant must not have been refused a visa since the issuance of the previous visa, or had a visa revoked, or have ever required a waiver. the applicant possesses all issued passports covering the entire period since receiving the previous visa and the passport with the most recent visa. the applicant has never been arrested or convicted of any crime or offense in the United States, even if the applicant has later received a waiver or pardon. the applicant has never worked without authorization or remained beyond their permitted time in the United States. C1/D applicants must possess a letter from the employer outlining the scope, duration, and location of the anticipated work. seir405: 1 Like

Yeah...i'm in that bracket though. I think they want applicants to fill new DS160 forms...if previous one is over 6 months old... Trotter: |

Hello everyone, I tried scheduling a date but kept going to add dependant, it doesn't show the page where you can see dates to schedule. What might be the problem? Secondly, I noticed that when I try to reset password to schedule interview It will say "new password sent to email" but end up not coming to the mail. |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by EuniqueBabe: 9:37pm On Feb 09, 2022 |
Hello All, Please who understands what this means: If your DS-160 was completed more than six months ago, please complete a new DS-160 and ensure the new DS-160 number is added to your application profile. Dampops: |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 9:55pm On Feb 09, 2022 |
Check your DS160 confirmation page and see the date the form was filled. If it’s earlier than August 2021, then fill a new one so as to update your travel plans. A new DS160 number will be generated, this should be inputted in your Interview date appointment portal via the “update profile” option… I hope this helps EuniqueBabe: 3 Likes |

Good day all Please I need help on the US visiting visa. Can a visa that expired in 2019 apply for interview waiver? If not, what are the chances of getting renew visa before May given "no interview date" status? How is it possible to get interview date if not qualify for drop box? Thank you |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Dampops(m): 4:41am On Feb 10, 2022 |
No, to 2019.. Getting a date before May will be tough considering the backlog they currently have and many people meet the 24 months condition who are yet to get dates… Teminio: |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by AmeliaT: 9:32am On Feb 10, 2022 |
The guidance is for 24 months; this is very straight forward. Even if your visa expired in December 2019, 24 months would have been December 2021 so you definitely do not qualify. At this point in time, the earliest expiry that qualifies would be February 2020. Just keep checking as people who booked for physical interviews may be cancelling their appointments for IW appointments. All the best! Lots of people who don't meet the criteria have still gone ahead to book IW slots and were turned back at the venue. Waste of time for them and waste of slots when other people who actually qualified could have used them. Very very unfair!!!! Teminio: 5 Likes |
