Estroller: Thanks for pointing this out. However, my nature of job won't even allow me take another side job. I'm interested in certificate courses relevant to my field which I can use for remote jobs. With remote jobs, you can be at the comfort of your home working at your pace (depends on the arrangement) for someone in Australia and I don't think you need to upgrade your Visa to be able to do that. Do you know any certificate course anyways? |

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Mamatukwas: 9:56pm On Feb 10, 2022 |
Rubyzz: My understanding of the email is that they will consider your application and if you’re owed money you will be paid within 6weeks. My advise is to write them back to clarify if you will be informed when a decision is made concerning your application. Because they can decide today and in 1 week you get your money. Tbh the money is not something you should rush too much. Try and remove your mind from there. They will pay it don’t worry |

LOL true.. I didn't get a refund back then until almost after 2 years. At one point, I just left them for like 9 months and carried on with my hustle . If they owe, they will surely refund. Mamatukwas: |

Please I have some questions. I would appreciate anyone with a relevant response. If an international student in year 1 out of a 2-year degree withdraws from school, will the IHS for the second year be refunded? And can he or she not pay the remaining balance of the year 1 tuition? What are the consequences, if any, if a tenant, who signed a one year house contract, leaves the UK (permanently till further notice) before the end of the contract ( meaning no need to pay rent) Is it the norm for airlines ticket fee not including 2 free checked-in luggage? |

Ideally the agency will say you need to pay off the remaining months but not sure what the consequences are. Forget about a IHS refund as it wouldn't be refunded. captainhoo: 2 Likes |

captainhoo: I would start from the bottom........ Very normal, if you want checked in luggage, pay for it or take another airline that offers it (free)... If we can call it free ...... If you sign a year contract, you would have to honour that contract, it's called a contract for a reason....... If you breach that contract and depart for 4 years, a lovely boxed CCJ, would be waiting for you ......... Are you asking if tuition, would still be expected, after withdrawal ? Once you withdraw, your unpaid fees withdraws with you ...... About the IHS, knowing the way the government runs, fees paid are not refundable....... 1 Like |

captainhoo : If you have a break agreement in your tenancy you just need to give the Landlord the required notice else you will be liable for the full rent. Refer to link below.. Don't quote me on this but I think there are protections for tenants to break lease by giving the landlord notice one month I think. You know how the government likes protecting regular people vs. Landlords Refer to: https://www.gov.uk/private-renting-tenancy-agreements/what-should-be-in-a-tenancy-agreement 2 Likes |

deept: If every tenant could just break a tenancy agreement, by simply giving a 30 day notice........ The contract is then simply not worth the paper it is written on ......... |

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Ticha: 8:17am On Feb 11, 2022 |
deept: Only applies to a periodic tenancy. If it's fixed, you're liable till the end of the fixed period. Any non paying tenants, I'd do a MCOL and ensure a CCJ also follows. At least the CCJ drops off after 5 years but will show up in any extended credit search. A MCOL remains till it's paid off or written off by the person owed. 6 Likes |

Ticha: Money charge is good, but CCJ is chargeable to property, if tenant eventually buys a property..... If not, get the sheriff....... I thought it was 6 years ....... |
